The present project on lecture innovation is focused on providing a multimedia support and focus for both practical and lectures in digestive system physiology and, in a wider spectrum, for the study and diagnosis of abdominal pathologies, especially those included in the Acute Abdomen syndrome. This project is aimed, specifically, on medical students, doctors in different areas both surgical as medical and on both residents and specialist medical facultatives. Acute Abdomen Syndrome is an entity which englobes a wide variety of processes, with acute peritonitis as its main, and most dangerous diagnosis, whose diagnosis is therefore key in medical practice, being physical abdominal exploration the main, and fundamental tool in its diagnosis. It consists on a series of maneuvers which involve abdominal inspection, intestinal dynamics auscultation, toracoabdominal percussion and palpation, both superficial and deep. There must be a special emphasis on the detection of vascular murmurs, the presence of masses or intestinal obstructive phenomena, hepatic, bile, renal and splenic exploration and, as the most important and main aspect and objective, the elaboration of a exhaustive differential diagnosis on acute peritonitis. This is a project on lecture innovation by the University of Valencia (UV-SFPIE_PID-1642309-MBF6LA75DEKC0K1D), which has produced and edited an official video to summarise it all and give a graphic visualization on the procedures.
