These vintage instruments, Natasha's deeply magnificent ocean-like vocals and the sophisticated beat make this sound like a modern interpretation of a medieval tale.
My brother, who passed away at 19, was named Daniel and I hold this song special in my heart. I heard it live in Boston in 2013 and I’ll never forget it!
This is what musics about for me. She creates a completely unique vibe. It's like her own world. I can't put my finger on it... but it inspires me like nothing else. It's almost spiritual!
@micahszabo Yeah I totally agree, except, live wouldn't be less perfect in this case, if you watch her sing this song on Letterman...oh my god it's the best live performance I've ever seen, as clean as studio but with more heart, flawless.
This is the song of the year for me, it makes me feel really high, i travelled around Costa Rica with this in my ears and prepare myself for competitions! So peacefull! Thanks guys
And when I say comparable, I mean other artists such as Brittney Spears etc. I also love the concept of including the Marxaphone and Harmonium. Natasha bought the Marxaphone while in New York. This has to be one of the best sounding live versions of a song I have ever heard. Riveting and hard to only listen to once.
It is a testament to her ability when you read the comments on any of the videos online. The usual sexual references etc are not there. It is a sign of respect. Watch some of her interviews and you will see how she projects herself as a true woman. Natasha will never reach the fame of some other so-called artists, which is a real shame. When it comes to talent and raw ability, there is nobody comparable. I always judge a musicians ability on how they sound live. These guys are flawless. Unreal.
she has an amazing voice everywhere, recorded and live... most people that sing recorded cant even sing with autotune, let alone live. natasha is amazing. amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing.
Dude truly you don't listen to Bjork becasue if you have then you would clearly know that Tasha has nothing on the projection and power of Bjork. Honestly, both of them are in a class seperate from each other, but we all agree to disagree - bottomline at least we are are likeminded in what we listen to becasue the shit on the radio is heartwrenching...by the way, Peter Gabriel has a killer new album out---
@omgaw Sorry, buddy, but I'm seriously going to have to disagree with you. I respect Bjork as an artist, but her little scandinavian chipmunk voice is one of the most annoying voices/accents I've ever heard. I think Bjork can try a little hard at times, too. Natasha's voice is really soothing, classically beautiful, and anything but grating. Bjork's voice is what I'd expect out of and underdeveloped icelandic girl. Natasha's voice is a woman's voice.
@DamericeJason. Obviously you have been smoking crack, or taking some other drug such as LSD that causes delusional side effects. Remember that this performance is LIVE. You put up a video of any other female performer such as Bjork producing any comparable LIVE example of talent and I will retract my statements. Until then I would suggest you "wake up and smell the coffee".
She is following the drums, it's just that the clap sound is louder than normal, and probably louder than it should be, but she is following the drums. The clap sound is supposed to be syncopated and contrast the with the beat of the music, although its more present than normal.
I've been watching this video so many times during the past few years. And every now and then I watch it again. Beautiful. This is what music should sound like.
Well, it's a keyboard. Which can synthesize OR double as a piano, or make a lot of other noises, for that matter. But it doesn't matter what it is. I was just stating that she doesn't look natural/comfortable playing it.
@allrain--- Henry Charles Marx (1875-1947), the founder of the company, obtained the original patent, #1044553, in 1912, for the mechanism on which the Marxophone and the related Celestaphone were based
@VerveVixen She dedicated this song to the the Karate Kid; Daniel Larusso :] She admits she used to have a crush on him, apparently, and still does. Shoot, I can't blame her ^^
This girl is the shit! And great beats and lyrics and if it is to dark for you than go listen to Britney spears! Her voice is beautiful and a way you can tell is when someone can sing an a Capella with no other background music and it still sounds amazing. With all the great girl bands around like LadyHawke, Metric, The Kills, I would say thisis the best album. The next best albums are Broken Bells and the EELs End times. In my younger days is a classic for anyone who has ever loved there dog!
@PoxDoctor This is really awesome, but I can't help but mention that this isn't exactly live. People keep calling it live, but studio live and live are definitely two different things. The studio is a completely controlled environment whereas a live act would be less perfect. It might as well be on an album.
Fangirl much? You do realize that there are a lot of people that do actually sing well right? Even these so called auto tuners... It's just that they destroy their voices with 2 shows per day over 3 months...

This song brings back so many memories. My ex husband and I were childhood sweethearts. Yes, his name was Daniel.
My brother, who passed away at 19, was named Daniel and I hold this song special in my heart. I heard it live in Boston in 2013 and I’ll never forget it!
THIS SONG IS SPECIAL FOR M.E , THANK YOU BAT FOR LASHES♥️♥️♥️♥️🤗🤗🤗😘🤗🤗🤗♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
This is what musics about for me. She creates a completely unique vibe. It's like her own world. I can't put my finger on it... but it inspires me like nothing else. It's almost spiritual!
That Marxophone player is an legend. The amount of skill that takes is amazing to watch.
....WOW.
That was kind of... ridiculous.
I much prefer this to the album version.
Amazing how they come up with the instruments to fit the song. Really appreciate there talents and dedication to making this song possible.
She's so unique! This song is incredible, it's my fave...
I love how the singer's natural accent bleeds through in these type of performances compared to on album or for audiences
OMG thats her voice live??, shes amazing!
My favorite song, ever... 😈🎧
Just bought a Marxophone this last year. Trying to get it tuned.
She has that strange ability of making you feel that you just arrived in another dimension of the universe
What synth does that man have? I need it for my work 😅
This better than the original! Amazing!
Natasha is great and Ben Christophers is such a talented artist…I wish Ben would record a new album soon!
Omg she's flawless
@micahszabo Yeah I totally agree, except, live wouldn't be less perfect in this case, if you watch her sing this song on Letterman...oh my god it's the best live performance I've ever seen, as clean as studio but with more heart, flawless.
Beautiful song. I love the various instruments used and her voice is so clear and soothing.
I'm sure I saw that old keyboard on Antiques Roadshow. Only joking, Great version of Daniel.
This is the song of the year for me, it makes me feel really high, i travelled around Costa Rica with this in my ears and prepare myself for competitions! So peacefull! Thanks guys
just amazing ! I'm slightly shocked, they so inspiring and so moving.
Gorgeous, minimalist, and haunting.
And when I say comparable, I mean other artists such as Brittney Spears etc. I also love the concept of including the Marxaphone and Harmonium. Natasha bought the Marxaphone while in New York. ben christophers playing a harmonium AND a marxophone - holy frijoles!!
well i love the whole album, her voice is enchanting. the only question is where can i procure a marxophone!
I can't put my finger on what it is I like so much about this, but - this is haunting.

wow her looks really remind me of lily allen. This video is awesome :)))
Great song. I`m really love this song.
@PoxDoctor yeaaa and no. not sure if i totally agree with you about the raw ability part....
What is that miniature harpsichord called?
it's written on it: marxophone
seriously powerful, i love that performance too
Who on earth could ever dislike this???
Twenty two people with no souls.
people who have rythm i guess :D :D
@@Petra-P That makes no sense.
pop screen. prevents "plosives" which can cause a burst of volume
You'd never know this is live. I love her, all her songs and her creativity is great.
One of my favourite songs EVER.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Natasha Kahn♥
Brilliant. Love Natasha!!
the whole song is off, they don't follow the drums, or is it me?...
I'm blown away her voice is soothing to the ears.
I love bat for lashes!!!1

Cat Power and Natasha Khan, I would love to see them singing together :D
A mi también me gustaría. ¡Me apunto! :D
:)
i wanna see her live again
she has an amazing voice everywhere, recorded and live... most people that sing recorded cant even sing with autotune, let alone live. natasha is amazing. amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing.
This version is proof that there’s no magic without Daniel
this song reminds me of driving in the rain
she is my major girl crush!!

She's got such a beautiful voice... I LOVE when artists can actually sing. There are too many studio artists these days!
She is following the drums, it's just that the clap sound is louder than normal, and probably louder than it should be, but she is following the drums. The clap sound is supposed to be syncopated and contrast the with the beat of the music, although its more present than normal.

Eres mua crush!
I didn't think I could enjoy this song more than the album version but this is even better
she hawe great voice..perfect :)).. im so happy when i heart she for 2 days on POHODA :)))...greetings from slovakia
Does she normally play piano? She looks unnatural at it, though it could be just because she didn't have much to play...
i love you Natasha, you always give me chills
if natasha and byork and portishead make a song together wow.......
does anyone recognize that drum machine?? its looks and even sounds like the BOSS DR-110, but its not :/
I love you Natasha
Her voice is so clear and beautiful
not to mention natasha on that sweet yamaha and drum machine and killer vocals - i'm in heaver!
She's really talented but I don't preferably like this song..

@allrain Agreed.I totally enjoy seeing how all the instrumental pieces come together...especially against her beautiful vocals.
The 6 "people" that don't like this are SADISTS.
simply amazing!
me encanta la cantidad d instrumentos diferentes y raros q usan
Fangirl much?

classic voice of an angel. just love it :).
