Your videos on skin barrier impairment and skin care reset were very life changing for me. I stripped my skin care routine back to the basics, stopped picking at the minor blemishes that were only visible in my 10X magnification mirror and am now incorporating Adapalene 0.3% into my evening routine. Next step, eliminate the magnification mirror from my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

@@PAMELAPORTER-ci7mr A Dr said the same thing, to me. He said you only need soap if you are washing dirt off your skin. Otherwise he said your washing the nature oils out your skin, drying it out (then you have to moisturize) it's a vicious cycle. The say clean the Face, Under Arms, Crutch. If you think about it when you shampoo your hair and rinse, the shampoo runs down over your body, then on top of that you grab the soap and lather up causing more skin issues.😁

When I first started working and got my insurance, I could see the derm once a year and be covered. Now, it's strictly considered cosmetic and has to come out of pocket. Though it's possible I could upgrade my plan but don't know if that's in my budget.

Simple and straightforward tips by a board certified dermatologist 😊. It is in these simple tips that cover the majority of our everyday life routine. I mean yes we all tried picking our skin sometime one way or another 😅 or even used external instruments causing even further disturbance to the skin barrier. These instruments should be used be professionals and certified individuals, specialists of the medical field. Even the everyday shower is a thing too much product volume can cause issues. Thanks a lots for the tips Doctor Andrea keep things basic is key and "doing nothing" is also a big thing and not nothing at all (as you said not all but most cases resolve by their own so it's a win-win situation😊❤).

I actually had the exact opposite happen: I had an eczema patch on my belly that was round and I thought it was ringworm. I can't remember exactly what I was putting on it, but when I finally got seen they said it was Nomular eczema. The hydrocortisone cream was a huge relief when I started using it!
Obviously this is just my own unique situation. I'm glad I got seen by someone relatively quickly.
The story got weirder cause within a few days after that I had a rash everywhere, and the derm said I should get tested for strep throat. I had scarlet fever rash indicative of strep even though I didn't have hardly any throat or illness symptoms.

Dr. Dray, do you have any videos on skin care ingredients based on the humidity of an environment? One ingredient specifically is hyaluronic acid. I have dry sensitive skin. If I use a product with HA when the humidity levels are high it can soothe my skin. But when I travel back to Colorado where the air is DRY including a product with HA leaves my skin parched. Along the same lines, do you have any videos that address the most effective delivery vehicles (i.e., serum, gel, cream, oil) based on skin type/concerns?

A lot of what you mentioned is true. Sometimes I go to the doctor only to be told that it would go away by itself. So that's when I learned to give it some time before going to the doctor. I noticed paracetamol aggravated my skin since I need some sort of pain killer for my keloids due to the pain. I stopped consuming and went to the doctor and seek help. It's hard to even go for plastic surgery since my keloids are large. Most doctors don't have a solution for me. I hope more doctors look into keloids and the permanent cure for it. 😢

    • @WendeCrow

It might, but I've ignored the advice and usually wash my face with cold water. I have combo to dry leaning to dry skin and it's not a contributing factor for me. But everyone's skin is different so maybe it could be for you? It might be worth a shot to switch to warm if you've isolated other variables to take care of your dry skin.

Here’s what cleared my nearly ten years of acne:(since age 13)
      (1) - DHT suppression.
I take 1mg dutasteride daily but not on the weekends. This will shutdown 5ar1 enzymes in the facial skin, stopping dht production. After a month u will notice your skin wont make much oil. The sebaceous glands will shrink, and your pores will become smaller too.
      (2) - Thorough Cleansing.
Clean face pushing your cleanser deep within your skin. Let it sit for a minute before washing off. Change pillowcases everyday. Don’t touch ur face and other common sense stuff.
      (3) - Tretinoin.
Topical tretinoin is still the greatest anti acne topical in existence.
      It further reduces sebum
Production. Increases keratin shedding and production.
In fact i don’t even use tretinoin right jow.
I stopped. The dutasteride and Cleansing+exfoliating alone is carrying me lol.
