It’s so funny how you seem to know what I’m thinking and then a video appears
Hope the video helps 👍🏼
I CANT TELL YOU HOW OFTEN THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME, TOO!! 🔮 lol
Right. How does she know
Same 😂😂

I never realized til I started watching this channel how many conditions can be mistaken for acne. And then if you really have something else, no surprise that acne treatments don’t work.
Dr. Dray, I just have to say that you have saved my skin. I’m 33 and have not been happy with my skin until I started consuming your content and implementing EFFECTIVE skin care. And for the past two years haven’t gone a day without sunscreen (better late than never)
Can you let us know what have you implemented, please? 🙏
@@5nobody9 well when I first started watching her I was coming off months of extreme antibiotics and my skin absolutely went nuclear when I finished them. So I started out with her basic skincare stuff: double cleanse, very gentle cleanser, good moisturizer (I used cerave lotion) and adapalene/benzoyl (they call it differin in the states). After several months-1 year I only used that to just restart my skin. Now my barrier is healed and I will switch out what actives I use based on what my skin may need (three days of actives: either adapalene or salicylic, and one day of no actives and repeat or change as needed). I now have a routine that I’ve found suits me perfectly. And sunscreen. Sunscreen every day. It took me a million years to find one I liked but now that I have I don’t go without it ever.
@@karleegordon8907differin/adapalene doesn't contain benzoyl peroxide.
Can you share which sunscreen you use?
Very helpful as always! One suggestion, your tree is lovely but the flashing very distracting. Would love it in the background lights on fully, not flashing. Thank you!
Actually couldn’t watch because of the flashing!
I agree
Omg! I’ve been on 100 mg of doxycycline and mupirocin for over a year! I’m finding a new doc that will do a culture after all this time. Thanks for giving me enough knowledge to question.
Hi Dr. Dray! Have you ever talked about how skincare lines claim it matters where ingredients are sourced from? Like “not all hyaluronic acid is the same” and there’s is more pure/quality. Love you’re videos ❤
Hi Dr. Dray, I am a relatively new subscriber to your channel (and UA-cam, in general). Thank you so much for the content that you provide. I arrived at your channel in search of some way to repair my skin barrier (not realizing that is what my skin needed) after I ran out of options to soothe the dryness and stinging. I still don't know the cause but your recommendation to return to the basics rescued my skin, including vaseline for my dry, flaky eyelids. And now, I will continue my skin care journey to health. (As a side note, your holiday decorations are beautiful and festive, but the blinking lights are really distracting. I do have a hyper-sensitive brain so it could be just me, but thought I would share with you just in case it affects others as well.) Happy Holidays and again, thank you.
acne like eruptions lack closed comedones, they appear same
1- eruptive vellus hair cysts = Don't heal with scar
2- steroid acne = monomorphic and red, can be acute or appear after several months of stopping steroids
3- bacterial folliculitis , usually very itchy
4 - gram negative folliculitis due to prolonged use of antibiotics , usually experienced by acne pts , isotretinoin help in this
5- fungal acne = malassezia folliculitis
6 - rosacea= not oily skin, acne like eruptions but not closed comedones
7- perioral dermatitis
8- demodex mites
I'm curious as to how derms tell the difference between bacterial folliculitus and malesezzia folliculitus
Rosacea:
- topical ivermectin
- metronidazole
- azelaic acid
- oral antibiotics
- lasers
all cope just blast Isotretinoin and it will be iver
There is literally a cure here. Isotretinoin.
I went through the absolute worse bout of acne a few years ago! To this day, idk what triggered it. I can only guess it was a combination of factors.
Today, my skin is more clear than I could’ve ever imagine. No more hyperpigmentation (which I had made peace with). That experience really showed me what people with acne go through and why it can be such a hit to your self-esteem.
How did you clear the hyperpigmentation
Great video - very informative! I have bushy eyebrows and due to rosacea, use mineral-only sunscreens. I have to be careful to avoid an excess of sunscreen and/or facial moisturizer getting trapped in in my brows, especially at the inner corners, or I get seborrheic dermatitis flakes and pustules. Pesky malassezia! After I apply moisturizer or sunscreen, I use a clean toothbrush or spoolie to brush out my brows and swab away the bit of excess lotion/sunscreen with a q-tip. An ounce of prevention... 🙂
I needed this video! This could not have come at a better time, thank you Dr.!

Dr Dray, I hope that you don't find this rude but, would please consider making your tree lights not blink during your videos? I find it so difficult to watch you while the lights are blinking. Hi dr dray, lots of love from India❤
Thanks for watching
Loved this video!!! God bless you!!!
That's why i always advise my parents and siblings and of course friends not to over use or misuse the corticosteroid family. Because let's face it, it's not the poison aka drug but the dose and the misuse as well that tag the ingredient with the bad stigma 😊😅❤. When i get a pimple now i just put a hydrocolloid patch and let it there to heal on its own 😊.
Appreciate the information, Dr Dray. Happy Friday!! Hope you, your sweet momma and little Tybee have a fabulous weekend. 💞
Dr Dray..you are always so informative ..Thank you! I am looking for a vegan retinol and also what percentage am I looking for ..fine lines and wrinkles over 50.. Thanks!
Loving the light show ✨
I had impetigo on my chin and went to the hospital The Dr sent me home with some cream to get rid of it which worked I kept avoiding this area until I felt it would be ok to use my normal skin routine Usually washing it before application
I also made the mistake of putting one of my lotions in my fridge Yeah Dumb! I was washing my pimples and a bit of red scaring Luckily I'm ok I didn't panic for a change and simply exfoliated this until it was gone which took a little more than 2 weeks Which again taught me a bit of a lesson didn't it?
Happy Friday, Dr. Dray❤❤
Morning!
I feel blessed that I’ve never had to deal with those types of problems! Have a blessed weekend!❤️
Hi Dr. Dray! Can you advise on topical treatments for post-inflammation scarring on the eyelids? Will a silicone scar gel be the best choice?
Maybe check some of the eye doctor channels re: blepharitis.
Any chance you can debunk nutritionfactsorg latest "skin care series"? You go after tiktokers but this is a medical doctor interpreting studies about tret and vitamin c in skincare. Apparently tret is deadly and it’s ok to make a vit c serum from just mixing water and ascorbic acid, 2 examples.
This sounds as bad as this dentist who says retinols don't work but he'll sell you something that does...

I am 65 years old and have small pimples that come up constantly between my cheekbones and my jawline, along my hairline on my forehead, and sometimes on my neck just under my jawline. They might get less for a day or two but come back in two or three days. It isn’t caused by medicine or dirt or oil as my face is not necessarily oily.
Try a gentle cleanser
Happy weekend Dr Dray…see you tomorrow x💙🤩
Not acne, but do you think that sometimes, after a while you need to add something else or more to further see improvements? This is regarding mild hyperpigmentation… considering adding a vitamin c
It's possible. I'd check out her hyperpigmentation videos.
Can expired face wash be used as a hand soap or to clean makeup sponges and brushes ?
I don’t recommend using expired skincare
i’ve been on Accutane and it cleared my acne for sure, but approximately for 1 year. Then the acne came back, not as severe as before, but it’s so annoying. Now i am on Azelaic Acid for several months and didn’t help. I have oily skin. I don’t know is it a good idea going on a second course of Accutane if my dermatologist recommend it 😢
Sounds the same as mine. I use cera ve SA cleanser and Paula’s choice bha toner twice a day with cera ve moisturiser and my skin finally stays clear
This is my case. I asked to my derm what was wrong with me, if I was unicorn and no, absolutely no. There' are a lot of us who need a second or a third round. Lucky those who are flawless forever with one round. Every time you are on isotretinoine the dose is significantly lower, the amount of time shorter and the results last longer. If it helps, I' m 50 and I found my Saint Derm 20 years ago and the amount of family, friends and customers journey I' ve witnessed is countless. If done properly, (you know, all kind of blood checks, periodical controls and "The Isotreti-Rules"), it' s a very very good idea. Good luck🧛🏻♀️🖤
Gentle cleanser, salicylic acid cleansers, and benzoyl peroxide cleansers can all help
The flashing tree is distracting.
Good morning Dr Dray ❤

Love your tree!!!
Dr dray r you believe that eat pickle foods like radish pickle or kimchi can make the skin more plumpy?
Hey dr dray. Any videos to help us guys out there with cystic acne in the beard area on how to best clean the area when it’s hard to see and get to the area, thank you dr. ❤
I'd check Dr. Daniel Sugai's video on men's skincare where he goes over SA and BP cleansers for face washing. Dr. Maxfield of Doctorly covers this on one of his lives and basically says, use water based products or take oral meds for acne, micellar water/squalane based cleanser for removing sunscreen. The american academy of dermatology has an article, diy treatment for 5 common beard problems, covering acne in the beard.
Thank you for your help xo
Doc, if i tolerate heavy petrolatum beased moisturizers, does that mean i could try slugging wothout fear ?
I would look at her vaseline videos like, 10 reasons to use vaseline on the face or vaseline on the face.
When you mentioned about antibiotics, did you mean those taken orally or topical? This happened to me when I used Benzyl Peroxide on some bumps near my mouth and it seems to have developed to dermatitis.
No it's like Clindamycin or Erythromycin with tretinion or isotretinoin gel
Reduce frequency and/or strength
This is the 374627th time I comment the same but anyways: *RETROACTIVELY THANK YOU* from the early-mid 90’ s.🧛🏻♀️🖤

Does this count for cysts? Like clusters on only one side of the face?
Here is my current situation: So for my entire life, I had eczema. For the past few months, I’ve tried replacing my bedsheets with cotton bedsheets, swapping out any skincare product with something fragrance free, swapping out any polyester clothing to cotton clothing, and switching from bar soap to body wash. Ive reduced my ezcema to white patches. However, my face is still extremely dry and I still get white patches on one of my arms. What should I do?
Hypochlorus acid and humidifier !
@@reesea7988 interesting… I already use a humidifier
What do you mean by white patches
I'm using adaplene 0.1% and azelaic acid 20% for almost 2 years, but i didn't get appropriate results as I have pcod and have serious problems with cystic acne. Now I'm thinking of switching adaplene to tretinoin 0.025 % but I'm a bit confused. please guide me on this.
Thatd really weird.
20% azelaic acid itself supposed to be as good as tretinoin against Acne.
Female acne is very chaotic. If you were a man, you could suppress all your acne with Dutasteride.
Have you tried Isotretinoin?
It might be your only hope.
Happy Friday!
Do you have any rescources for lupus miliaris disseminatus faciei diagnosis?
I did accutane twice and it worked but immediately came back. Retin-A never worked for me. It got worse but never cleared. I wish any Derm in my life had ever talked to me about this or offered to culture my skin.
A gentle cleanser can help Alot
That’s unusual. Isotretinoin is supposed to *permanently* damage your sebaceous glands.
The body works in an intelligent way regarding stimulation and cellular health. If you have a damaged fibroblast, and you blast it with Retinoic Acid, the body isn’t stupid enough to forcr a damaged fibroblast to make more skin tissues. It will heal the fibroblast first.
Similarly, something caused your sebaceous gland to heal. Thag suggests something was stimulating it, and I can’t think of a more suspicious culprit than Dihydrotestosterone. The Hulk version of Testosterone.
You should try another Accutane cycle, but this time take Dutasteride alongside it. This drug will prevent Dihydrotestosterone from re stimulating your Sebaceous
Glands.
Good luck. May Kligman’s soul save you. amen.
@@21972012145525not really. Cleansing is a meme.
@@maalikserebryakov it is very common to do at least two rounds of accutane

GODDESS OF GLOW. LONG TIME NO SEE. HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
Good morning!
Thanks for this. Question, my derm got me on a triple cream of tretinoin, hydroquinone, and steroids. This was the only hydroquinone available in my country. Should I be worried about the steroids?
I’m on the same. You have to use it for only a few months and then off for a few months or yes, your skin will break out from the steroids, mine does every time, even though I’m so tempted to keep using it!
What are you using it for. Brand name triluma?
Dr Dray….. I have spent the last month taking things out of my regimen and was down to nothing left to remove. Stopped all supplements, whey protein, skincare. I see this video and realize I’ve been using azelastine nasal spray for over a month for allergies to keep my nasal passages open. Could this be a cause of my painful acne on my cheeks?? I’ve never had more than one pimple a year and I now have had 15 to 20 at a time and I am now thinking this is it!!!!! I seem to get a new red bump or two a night and it’s been so frustrating.
Is it a steroid?
Dr Dray❤I know I'm late but still I hope you reply...my question is about retinoid...is tretinoin microsphere 0.1 as effective as normal tretinoin gel 0.1 for mild acne scars...??
Derm here, it’s actually even more potent.
@@ChiragN24 ...wow I didn't know this... because I have heard everyone saying microsphere is mild and slow release machanism than the general tretinoin.... isn't that true?
Is it ok to slug with vaseline over finecea gel and moisturizer?
May enhance irritancy

Can change in diet (e.g. trying meal plans) cause acne?
No its all genetics,
How much sebum you produce. How big ur pores are etc.
Can the increased heat inside my body give me acne?
No, but heat can lead to flushing
@@DrDrayzdaydr. Dray, can French thermal waters relief flushing? I often see 50ml of these selling in Brazil (by Avene, Vichy and LRP), so I wonder if they can reduce flushing when you’re outdoors (in addition to our regular am/ pm skincare regimen)! Also, can fragrance possibly trigger flushing? Or can any ingredients that person have a specific allergy to trigger flushing?
It’s been 3 years almost. 😢
Hi dr.dray, whenever I make a big facial expression, like open my mouth really wide and move my eyebrows, that area gets red, but then back to normal in like 5 seconds. Is this normal?
