    Hi Chris, Just a quick tip. I would blow the air/water the opposite way. Since air flows toward the motor, I would blow everything backwork toward the front of the car as to not push debris further into the radiator fins. It may also help to add a screen on the bottom to prevent the larger items from entering into that space. Hope this helps everybody.Thanks for all of the great videos.

    Another great upload Chris. I like this product not just for cleaning out the debris in the radiator, but I like to show my Vette and this will come handy in the engine bay where little bits of gravel and other road debris items can gather, which one can see, but are very difficult to get to with a vacuum or my air compressor hose with just an air nozzle attached. Save the Wave.

    Just make sure you don’t screw up the fins I do refrigeration and air-conditioning clean a lot of condensers so make sure your fins when you’re blowing out your condenser or your radiator. Don’t bend the wrong way you have to be careful.

    I took my radiator and a/c condensor completely out of the car and pressure washed both of them and flushed the coolant and put a 160° thermostat in and it consistantly runs about 180-190 even on hot days

    Thanks for the video … but also thanks to the guys that caught which is the better direction to blow the debris. I was scratching my head for a bit wondering why it was being blown with the normal direction of airflow

    I pulled my Radiator to clean it and man after cleaning it the radiators are too small so i bought a all aluminum 2 row for about 300 dollars,best investment you can get for the summers here in central California it gets in the 100s in the summer. twice the cooling my vette never ran this cool before.best investment for a C5 I also fitted a screen underneath to keep the new radiator clear of debris

    I have the same, got them from tractor supply, they work for a while, I use to clean my tractors/4x4 and they do not last
    Update: hey Chris I forgot to mention, be careful with the AIR hook up, the long rod can come off and project like a rocket, my wife was using it to clean something and dropped it on the concrete and it came off, I put it back on, but supplying air made it shoot across the shop, I had to gorilla tape it to the handle, so be careful !

    Thanks Chris, this will be a good spring cleaning idea for next year! Also, I'm jealous of your garage floor... I did a ceramic coating this year with the flakes but didn't bother to purchase the clear coat as a secondary layer, that was a mistake.

    However you have more room to avoid bending the cooling fins is how to remove the debris, from the back of the radiator is the normal way I think.

    Careful with this procedure. Too much pressure and you will bend the radiator and AC condenser fins, and you will need to replace the radiator. USE LOW PRESSURE ONLY! TIP: jack car up and go from underneath then you don't have to take anything apart.

    I was going to say,, if you are not real careful ,, you will be knocked some holes in the condenser and radiator core, plus I would have blown out the debree from the back side instead of the front side.. Good luck everyone.. Them radiators and A/C condensers are not cheap..

    Quick question I just cleaned mine with blower and water hose and it seems like I left a lot of water in there should I wait about a day to drive it or should it be fine running it like that

    • @mycorvettelife
      @mycorvettelife  4 роки тому +1

      It is fine to drive. It will evaporate and blow out when you drive it. You could also blow out the water with your blower.

  • @tonyhartley871
    @tonyhartley871 4 роки тому

    Chris, I noticed some sort of a shield in the rear fender weld to keep damage off the body. Where did you find that? I wish the C5 aftermarket had come up with some better body protection especially for the front fenders. They did a better job on C6. I bought a set of gravel guards and the backs aren't bad but the fronts are too gaudy looking. Reminds .e of my uncles big mud flashes headon his vehicles years ago!
