I'm getting ready to refret my lacquered maple fretboard Strat, and this video includes EVERY detail I will need to do so! Your text descriptions provide the perfect details to help me along the way. I can't thank you enough for this!
Me too. Some people hate them, but once you learn to keep tension on the strings as you start to wind them, nothing else is as neat, with no sharp string ends sticking out
I prefer slotted tuners or locking tuners. Slotted keep you away from the sharp end, and locking are made changing string quick, easy and improve ability to stay in tune
Great work as always. I watch videos in languages that I don't know and I'm always pleased to hear the original artists voice and words. I would enjoy hearing your narration and reading the closed captions.
Your attention to detail and being meticulous about your work is a huge part of your appeal, Miss Tanya. You strive to do things right and it shows. Your videos are always a welcome watch on my part! Ваша увага до деталей та ретельно щодо вашої роботи - це величезна частина вашої привабливості, міс Таня. Ви прагнете робити все правильно, і це показує. Ваші відео завжди є бажаним дивитися з мого боку!
Tanya, it's Leo Fender's birthday today, born 10th August 1909 so If he was still with us he would be 115 and too old to be working on guitars but would be loving the way you do. He was a great believer in making guitars (and amps) serviceable.
@@TanyaShpachuk The idea of replacing broken parts gave as the bolt on neck invention which gives the longest sustain of all solutions, whether it be set in, short or tenon or neck through :) Greetings from Croatia!
Very nicely done fret job Tanya, it turned out beautiful and intonated nicely without pulling out hair and bridge adjustments. It's nice when people take care of their old guitars.
Thanks for all the captions. I'm not a luthier, but am fascinated with this work - the captions help me understand what you do. Very helpful! Great videos!
I absolutely love your videos, you’re are such a talented luthier!! Just amazing results every time… one thing I would say is this… There’s no need to explain your methods or to explain why you use unusual techniques and/or tools. The results are WORLD CLASS so keep on doing what you do what ever way you do it because your talent shows every time x
Great job. I bought a Warmoth neck with stainless jumbo frets. I didn't have to level thank God. I got the neck straight and checked and it was perfect . I made the nut exactly like you did, but I used the strings and should have used the tool like you. It took forever, but it is perfect. I love that neck. The action is perfect and the same distance from the bottom of the strings to the top of the frets all the way up and down the neck. Then I tuned and set the intonation which was really close and I was off to the races. It's a great strat. Installing three EMG SA pickups this coming week. Can't wait to hear it.. Best regards. From South Central Indiana. USA. Tim
Awesome work!! My first fret job was on an experimental neck. I beveled the fret ends too much and I couldn’t play the bass and treble “E” strings.😫. This was before experts were demonstrating online like Tanya does.. learn a lot on this channel!! Thanks you for posting.
Love these videos, they inspired me to learn how to build and repair guitars myself! I'm about to upgrade my workshop so I can start making solid bodies and necks. Your videos are really useful as a quick reference for the different steps involved, so thank you.
I have the Frtlzr polishing kit. I love it! it's ingenious. I'm glad to see you back. I knew that wasn't a Fender neck by the visible borders of the decals on the headstock. Nevertheless, I'm still very proud of your achievement surpassing 600,000 subscribers. I hope another episode arrives soon.
Finally! I channel that's all work and no talk. I would offer but one suggestion: if a single guitar's work could be broken up into segments (parts 1, 2 ..etc) so we can see the entire process of each stage instead of snippets?:) It would also give you more views. Excellent work btw.
First of all, a big greeting and thanks for such inspiring videos. I have only one request. If possible, for the sake of those of us who for various reasons do not have the ability to read English quickly, extend the duration of the textual explanations that are often an integral part of your videos:)
Micro Mesh is awesome. I have tons of 2400, 4000, and 12000 grit left over from my days as an Orchestral Trombone Maker. The old stuff is better than the new MM as it seems to wear out much faster than it used to.
Greatest Guitar ever!! The Stratocaster! Good to see your pressing in the frets. Get a wider plate that covers the complete fret. Often you will not have to level frets with this method.
Even when using the arbor press it helps to use your hammer and set the edge of each fret… then you can just work your way down the whole board. I hate shaping round bottom nuts
Hope everything is going well over in your Country...Pray soon this will all end for you guys 😎 Thank you for sharing your artistry it truly is entertaining...
Why bot do something that actually works, like donating to the Red Cross, instead of talking to an invisible man in the sky? And maybe you could keep your mumbo-jumbo to yourself? It's really offensive.
Tanya, you should try the Music Nomad Fretboard Shield. No more taping off lacquered boards. I have a few different scale length MM shields at my shop, but the only one we use is the 25.5" for maple board protection.
I've seen every video of yours and I've to say you're a very great Luthier. I learn a lot of your method of working. In our country a fretjob is about €350 and I've 4 guitars that need a refret so I decided to buy the tools and do it myself. I'll start of with a Epiphone Dot because that's the cheapest. I' ve one question about the glue. Which one do you use for rosewood fingerboards? Keep up restoring/refretting these wonderful guitars. You're a master! My compliments.
Polishing polishing polishing
😂
Seriously just watched Ted
Great shout out to Ted.
Literaly most of the work as a guitar tech 😅
Ted !!! 😂
How much I enjoy the silence in Tanya's videos. No stupid muzak or useless comments, just plain and self-explanatory craftswomanship!
That tape trick for holding the frets: genius

Yes except I’d like to know how she got glue residue off fretboard.
Очень нравятся ваши видео. Есть что-то успокаивающее в работе руками над инструментами со знанием дела и заботой. Дякую за ваш контент 🙇
Her craftsmanship is a work of art!
I love fender vintage tuners.
Was happy that Fender decided to go with those on the new Player II series. Slotted tuners are the best!

But anyway, he is a great man and innovator :)

Could watch these videos all day, they are so satisfying, the care and attention put into each guitar is great

This woman is one of the best guitar repair people working today.❤
you know this is regular and usual work right?
The martin fix was just for youtube, it was not reasonable from a cost perspective.

You do awesome work on guitars, Tanya. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Seeing your new fret "hammering" machine makes the experience more enjoyable
Fantastic! Work of great precision and scrupulousness. Great professional
Another beautifully finished job, thank you Tanya!

That fractal press is awesome! I love your work! 🖤🖤😎👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
First time that I've seen it used but likely haven't seen every video either.
I just did this job but she is next level. Really, really nice work.
Nice fret press! Makes it so much more efficient.
Beautiful work, as usual.. I'll never get tired of seeing this! 👍
Ooo, watching the fret press is fun!
Thank you Tanya , I learned something today . People are praying for your safety as news came about the bombing that hurt and killed the children .😢

Why i feel relaxed everytime watched this types of videos hearing just the sounds pulishing sanding etc... i feel asleep

I got the Frtlzr polishing kit…it’s a lot of work running thru all the grits but the frets come out so nice and shiny…definitely worth it 👍
Belle copie vintage 50s repose toi bien , presque la transition 58/59 le N° de serie 👌
I like how you do it, with real art
As always, nothing but the best from Tanya.
Great replica old Strat! Impeccable fretwork Tanya!
That neck is beautiful. It’s interesting that it’s a Nash masquerading as a vintage Fender.
I love her work it's sooooo satisfying 💕
Well look at that snazzy new fret press!
Very expensive!
fractal?
@@rubberduck3066 Looks like it. My luthier has one. They're great because they work on any radius.
Very nice work Tanya 👏🙌

Thank you for a great video👍 Satisfying indeed🙂
I never realized that Nash offered a Fender Spaghetti Logo like that?! Must be an earlier Nash Model? Lovely guitar. Great work as always!!!
I really wanted to hear that puppy plugged into an amp. Bet it sounds glorious.

Been meaning to try one of those Fractal Fret Presses
Trabalho minucioso, muito bem executado ficou magnífico
I like the fact you don't use power tools on the guitar other than the polish of course.
How I wish I had a tech who gave my guitars this much attention. I may just have to buy all the tools and learn myself
Learning fretwork is a long road but so very worth it.
