My dad passed away two weeks ago and he loved this band and “Saturday in the Park.” I can’t hear that song without missing him. It came on the radio a few days ago, and I lost it. Music is so powerful and it often traps you in time.
I'm a 70 six-year-old teenager. I went and saw Chicago 7 times in my life to hear all of the other songs, but mostly just to hear this song. Live actually got tears in my eyes whenever I was riding my car after seeing a concert and listen to this guitar. Solo and these horns are just beyond control and they are out of this world. As Chicago always was the same live as in the studio. No difference in the sound.NO autotune, Or any other music enhancement device. They're only devices. They're hands in their voice , They are perfect. They are the number one Band from the seventies bar none. Not Led Zeppelin, not Judas. Priest, not the beetles, but Chicago, they had it locked down. Nobody can sound as good in concert as these guys do and they make no bones about it. When they get on stage, they give a 101% don't think they don't. And All my brothers and sisters from the 70s. The late 60s rally round with me and voice. Your opinion on this I'd love to hear It. I know. It's the same as mine Rock On my brothers and sisters.
YEAH! I loved “Beginnings” so much when I was a kid. Then my high school marching band played 25 or 6 to 4! I played alto sax..🎷. This band is absolutely KILLER!! “Colour My world” was the song for my girlfriend. My favorite thing about Chicago is their PASSION.. Passion to play music. For the grace of humanity. 🌹
Chicago Transit Authority was the first album I bought as a kid, and have followed the band since. I also got to play Chicago tunes in marching band (drums), and had the pleasure of performing in a Chicago tribute band. These cats have been very influential in my music career.
Wonderful. The sound of summertime in my youth! I love "Old Days" and the rest, thank you for this! These guys sound great, age hasn't touched their performance!
When I was in elementary school my dad was a limo driver. He actually was Chicago's chauffeur for them when they came to Hartford, CT for one of their concerts. My dad said that when the band came out after the concert there were so many girls going crazy. They were tearing at the bands clothes and anything they could rip a piece off. One girl stole my dad's chauffeur hat. He did bring us 4 girls home signed pictures, albums and we thought we were so cool. lol Good memories. So happy to see them back.
@@parkjammer No. Only the three guys she interviewed are original. Lee Loughnane (trumpet) James Pankow (trombone) and Robert Lamm (right side keyboard and vocal) who also wrote many of their biggest songs.
We got Chicago coming to my town Dubuque Iowa this summer the night before my bday, and I’m gonna purchase tickets for my folks and I! What a bday gift for me!! Seeing one my first favorite groups from when I was a kid! The other ones were Foreigner, Styx, Van Halen and Huey Lewis and the News
It’s time to write a book. The Chicago story- ALL of it. Maybe some day, us longtime fans yearn for. The guys have been through it all, both personal & career. The highs of commercial success & lows of being dropped by a record label & nurturing a back catalog of amazing music gives Chicago the lasting power few bands can enjoy. Keep throwing down, Chicago! Love everything you’ve done.
I was a college freshman when they had their first hit. The early iteration with Terry Kath was unlike any other band of the time. East Coast 'Hamptons' snobbery kept them out of the HOF for many years.
These guys were over the top! So many great songs. So glad to know I'm from Chicago area too growing up in the 60s and 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s, 20s. Chicago one of the finest bands ever. Feelin stronger every day!
I am in my 60’s and we played this song in my high school band. Everyone loved it so much that we could flat play that song!! No one had to be made to practice it! LOL❤
I saw them right after they released their second (double) album. The late Terry Kath was the lead guitarist. What a concert as we got to sit about 20 feet from them.
I grew up with this band (they used to be Chicago Transit Authority!). They sound fantastic! I saw them in Raleigh, NC a few years ago and was amazed at them - simply amazed!
25 or 6 to 4 is the time on the clock. it is 3:34 or 3:35 AM. 25 till 4:00. Robert Lamm has said this in the past it is song about writing a song in the wee hours of the morning.
@@imamymayYes, he sang backup in the chorus section. But the song was written by Robert Lamm, who wrote most of their hits, including this, and sang lead on the first 2 albums.
@@letivon6589 Yes, I know Peter did. My comment didn't say otherwise. My response was regarding the comment that Kath was one of the original singers of this song. Shouldn't your comment be directed there, since he didn't mention Peter? Lamm is often ignored or over looked when praise is heaped on Terry and Peter. Lamm wrote and sang lead on their first two hits, Beginnings and Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is, as well as wrote and sang on Listen, Questions 67 & 68, Poem 58, South Carolina Purples, shared credits on Someday, and of course this hit off of Chicago II, 25 or 6 to 4. He gets far too little credit.
The young audience was just thrilled to hear a live band, having NO idea who just got through playing that song!! They sound just like when they first put that song out!! AMAZING!! 🎶🎼🎵🎙️🎷🎻🥁🎺💗💯
Being from Chicago, you couldn’t ask for a better group here. I have seen chicago a total of 10 times, with the first being ChicagoFest in 1979 at old Navy Pier. From what I know a total of over 100,000 people lined lakeshore drive listening to it. AWESOME
I love Chicago and boy would I LOVE to see them in concert!!!! SO UPLIFTING and Toe Tapping GOOD!!!!! Love your show Kelly!!! From Sarnia, Ontario ❤🎶🎵🎶

I watched them perform this at the Capitol 4th Celebration in 2023 just as the fireworks show kicked off in the distance at the Washington Monument. It was so great and they still sound fantastic! Grateful to have had Chicago be part of the musical backdrop of my years growing up. ❤
This group is great they tour every year. The guy with the trombone has some nice arms❤️. I saw him at a conceetnin Nj and he was wearing shirt sleeves
Our High School use to play Chicago over the P.A. speakers on our lunch hour, every weekend party had Chicago playing and decades later when my career dream was fulfilled, a radio jock in the SF Bay Area, there I was emceeing Chicago at one of our Bay Areas best venues The Circle Star Theatre. It was one of the more magical nights of my Radio career. I would still go see them!!!
I was lucky to see them on tour this year. I'm 40 and was definitely one of the "young ones" there but the show rocked! My husband is a middle school band director and he said this is the kids favorite song to play..
Your so right Peter Cetera Danny Seraphine & Terry Kath once these three were gone that band was never the same. These three had a hand in kicking out Danny and Peter. Terry would’ve eventually left for a solo career.

Those kids have no clue what they just witnessed. Astounding. Love them so very much. Can’t wait for the beacon in August.
My thoughts exactly. You can tell on their faces that they know they witnessed something wonderful.

They are one of the most consistently good acts. Still putting on great shows 58 years after starting. Remarkable!

It's spelled Lamm. 25 or 6 to 4 refers to a songwriter writing at 25 or 26 minutes to 4 in the AM. Flashing lights were spotlights in Hollywood.
Correct, he, was the writer who was up at 25 or 6 to 4 writing this song.
