Hey Taren, have you done a video on essential changes to transform road bikes to tri bikes. Not necessarily spending a tonne of money but tweaks you can do to get more aero. And if you had to spend money what would be of 1st importance. So stoked to have found all your resources. I've just lost 25kg since January and competing in a tri event has always been a dream of mine so I signed up to a sprint in Feb. keep the great content going!!
Just bought a Canyon Speedmax , looking forward to getting to know my new bike, got the Di2 system, with 25's from Yeoleo, bike fit friday, cant f%*king wait
As I write this, the P2 with 105 is being advertised by a popular online bike shop at $1999, and I think it is a great deal. Regarding having the latest and greatest bike, that would not be my objective. I have a Trek 520 that I bought in 1994, and I still ride it. As I have become older, I've begun to take pride in my old stuff. There is an 80-year-old gentleman who competes in our local triathlons on a Softride beam bike that probably dates from the early 1990s. I recently bought a triathlon bike that was first released about eight years ago. When I bough it, I made a conscious decision that I didn't want anything that would look too trendy.
I believe some of the final years of the P2 - you could get it spec'd all the way up to Di2 (and not for a huge price increase). I think you could put that against even the current P5, and the old P2 with similar wheels would be as good or better. Bike companies need to keep churning out new products so that consumers have something to buy. New doesn't always mean better....but they market the crap out of it and say it is faster. Buy a used 2017 P2 with ultegra Di2 and get yourself a set of the Enve wheels...you'll have as fast a bike, and save yourself at least $8K - probably more.
Thanks the video but why oh why put a bottle on the downtube of that frame? It kills the aero of the frame. Keep your water bottles in the cockpit (between the aerobars) or behind the seat! The whole point of a tri bike is for it to be aerodynamic.
Me too. I don't really see the point of paying solid $$$ for marginally better shifting when all you're trying to do is maintain constant power on a mostly flat course.
I have a 2015 Felt b2 with profile design areo wheels. How much different it make compare to some highend bike like, canyon speedmax, spx, DB Andrew, etc.
Screw all this... these P2/P3s go for gold even used. I am just building a custom Giant Trinity from the TT frameset. 1x + 105 mechanical in the beginning and gonna upgrade to etap/di2. Even with etap I will not reach the price tag mentioned in the video, Oh yeah and fully integrated btw :)
$5600 = entry level damn that’s not entry level for me. I think Felt makes good entry level tri-bikes, and even Argon 18 have tri bikes that are cheaper but still really good tri bikes. Of cours compared to a P5x that’s much less expensive but still.
xGshikamaru that's not a $5-6,000 bike in the us. I bought mine last November on sale $1,800 and I thought originally $2,400. Maybe with his wheels and the exchange rate ....
I think you have to definitely add in cost of wheels, saddle, a fit, pedals maybe too? It's easy to say a bike costs xx, but you forget that you may already have components that cost money in the past
Taren! I just got my 70.3 training plan! Thanks a ton! I-AM-STOKED!!!!! Keep the videos coming, they feed my soul.
NICE, thanks!!! Choo chooo, pain train is approaching the station!

I remember when the P2 was not considered a Entry Level bike and Chrissie Wellington winning at Kona in 2007 on one.
Jake Ramsdell imagine what dave Scott would say haha

Love the reviews. How about some love for the other Canadian bike company - Argon 18?
Pro trick: watch series on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Logan Mauricio Yea, I have been using Flixzone for since december myself :)
03:55 tear drop shape…2016 is real

I really like the 105. They are Shimano's work horse. I'd rather spend the extra bucks on wheels.
Wagner Abreu yeah but ultegra helps keep the value of the bike from what I've seen

Can cervelo p2 be use on long rides? Cause im planning to buy one. I like the aero design im planning to use it like a “road bike”. Thanks!
Hey Taren. Have you thought about adding a second layer of bar tape to build up brake bars? May give you a little better feel.
Bo W. Double wrap it
Just a quick dumb question: Are teardrop-shaped seatposts universally sized?

So Taren, what is your dream bike?
Poderia ter uma fábrica aqui no Brazil
What’s ur thoughts on new p series?
Is it possible to get a good carbon bike for around 1k?

PS: 105 is better value than Ultegra.
Hey Taren what do you think of the GP 4000 IIS tyres?
