    In some Mercedes forums they report, that they touched the positive connection of the alternator with the engine mount while fumbling it out, which caused a short circuit. So it is better to disconnect the battery before.

    You make it look so easy! I decided to have mine changed, and now my car is in the seccond indy shop in 2 weeks. Installed brand new mounts and the car started vibrating with a loud thumping sound in the cabin. Mechanic said the mounts need to be "broken in" by driving for a while, which sounds like a load of crap to me. So I took it to another Indy and they claim my brand genuine mercedes engine mounts are bad. Another load of crap. Do you have any idea where the problem is? Its a 2010 ML350 Bluetec.

    Hi was wondering how long these Lemforder last on your car, I changed mine engine mounts with Lemforder less than two years ago and the vibrations got back two months ago so now I just don’t know which brand to get, i know MB originals is best but they are pricey… same engine same car same wheels same package 😊

      @@mackanistheshit it’s still about two extra years than mines, so i think it’s not so bad for aftermarket, if you remember, did you checked the boxes of the mounts in which country they were produced, because Lemforder nowadays have factories everywhere, on the box of mines it was made in China (lucky me)

    What symptoms is there with broken engine mounts? My car has knocking when braking hard and at idle car vibrates more noticeable

    • @mackanistheshit
      @mackanistheshit  3 роки тому +1

      Well my car vibrated significantly more at idle and it transferred this vibrating sound right in to the cabin.
      Perhaps your engine shifts a little when braking hard and that creates the knock you are experiencing.

      That could be easy how ever I didn’t feel comfortable having both mounts unbolted at the same time, and this worked out great :)
      Just make sure you have something to spread the pressure between the jack and the oil pan, so it won’t get deformed.

      Done. I found very difficult jacking the engine from under the oil pan, then jacked it a bit more frontwards, on the engine housing juste after the anti-roll bar. As both mounts were free, pulling the engine from one side to another was very easy. Btw it's hot as devils' ass today here next to Toulouse, south of France.
