Just agreed to do the service on my friends w203, with om642 engine. Well done and now i see why people dont want to do it ?? Bit more involved than your average car !!
Its still easy once you've done it once. But yea, compared to an accord with 6 clamps and done, the air filter boxes take a good 15 minutes instead of 30 seconds.
@@mackanistheshit I serviced mine today the air filters were a bugger to get back in the locators and the air intake was very tight going back into the turbo with the new seal but all good in the end 👍
May i add that every time the air intake pipe is off, you must replace the turbo inlet gasket (the large orange rubber ring) that sits in the turbo charger and also the ccv pipe gasket (small orange rubber ring). They are prone to failure if not changed every time the air intake pipe is off.
Do not use those worm-drive clamps on the fuel filter hoses! Leaking is unavoidable with them, they pull the fuel line around and cause a leak because of the way the clamp tightens and puts less pressure on the hose where the screw is located. Use OEM clamps, they provide 360 degree equal pressure and they're dirt cheap. That kind of clamps are only effective on large diameter hoses.
Iv always used worm clamps when changing fuel filters on multiple vehicles never with a single leak have done over a 100th miles in a vito reusing the same ones
I did everything like the video it helped a lot but now the turbo Whistles and I hate it it's annoying. I changed the the big and small turbo seal as well still no change. Not sure what I've done wrong
Slightly thicker oil when warm for higher mileage cars with more worn internal components will result in better protection, less oil loss and less smoke usually. It also makes the engine sound less rattly! Some will put 5w-30 and then put additives to thicken the oil. In reality, there is not a huge difference between 30 & 40 oil grades. I would not go any higher than 40 as it may harm the turbo and oil pump. Remember it also depends on the climate and how hot the engine gets when in operation and at working temp. Colder climates get away with thinner oils because the engine oil temp does not raise to as high levels as it may do in the warmer climates.
Thanks for the video I just bought a 2007 r320 CDI and this gives me some ideas of what I need to do use the same drills and it saves a lot of time

Good video, I was waiting to see if the fuel filter would need bleeding and see that it doesn’t thanks 👍
No problem!

Nice! I’m happy it worked out for you! :)
Thank you for this great help video....i actually just bought a 2008 GL 320 cdi turbo diesel....im gonna start servicing it right now....

Yes i replaced that gasket at a later time.
What a superb detailed video, Top Man!

Good job man (un travail propre ) 🇫🇷

Usually the airfilter is not perfectly fited to the airbox underneath where the screws go in 😮
Did you touch the silver charge pipe that goes down to the air dampener in the front? Sometimes it whistle from the o rings on that box
Osman j’ai une idée.le sifflement Continue toujours ?
Think you forgot to change this big red seal, that is connected to the turbo....Seems like it's leaking oil.
Nico Toscani yes, I realized that when I took it apart, I have to order the part and replace it, thank you for your reply!
Please can I used quartz, 9000 energy for my ML350 cdi 4matic with 170k miles
you really ought to invest in ¼" drive sockets for clamps lol
There is that part ( cap like)you just installed near to the oil cap what is the name of the part--
5w40? Mb 229. 51.?
Why don't you use torque wrench?
How much oil you put in, in mine om642 280cdi ive put 9.5l and its not on the top of the stick?
8.5L
Why 5w40?
What's the name of this part
Thanks for the video
How many liter oil ?
8.5L :)
@@mackanistheshit 👍thank you
You put 8,5 liters
Ok
8.4L !!
Does your vehicle have DPF because the oil that was used meets MB 229.5 which is used for vehicles without DPF? Great video btw
It looks like you are right about that, I should have used 229.51. Well looks like I’m about to do another oil change 😁
@@mackanistheshit That is a must in order not to help that DPF in clogging up👍
7:36🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
A6420100131 replace that part under the breather, bet the seal is gone if its not changed before.
Thank you! I will look in to that!
Which part of the video? Thanks
It's no the good oil !
I preformed a new service yesterday with the 229,51 oil.

I actually was the first time doing this
@@mackanistheshit ok...I was wondering.
Hi everyone... Can I ask you why 5w40 but not 5w30... The mechanics recommend 5w30 mobile 1 low ash... Thanks
Not 100% but think once the car has a higher mileage then 5w40 is better !
@@arnietwo11 thanks buddy... I got 220000 miles on the clock...
@@arnietwo11 I got 250000 km on my Om642, is 5W30 still good?
@@Peter-wo4uo yes but ive heard with higher mileage u want slightly thicker oil !! So 5w 40
