The end montage and music was SO good, gives me chills decades later, it's so well done, you get to see this retrospective of how far you came to beat that game, and naturally, you realize that it was more about the journey through the game than it ever was about beating it. So well done!
This game remains one of my favorite classic Castlevania games for a reason. It's such an amazing game in every sense of the word. I couldn't believe that people were trying to say Bloodlines was better than this. While Bloodlines is great in it's own right, SCIV is just amazing and as close to perfection as you can get in a platformer. I still dig it out and play it anytime I get in the mood for it. Thanks for this video.

My favourite in the series. A beautiful game in every way. Avoids the annoying Castlevania difficulty. SOTN feels like I'm being inducted into Satanism with all the occult references. It also completely loses the Castlevania identity.
Not sure how I landed here besides my love of this game and the SNES, but I chuckled a few times watching this. It's such a great game, and the video was fairly well put together. My only critique is to not fall back on curse words. They don't bother me and I'm not here to tell anyone what to do, but it will limit your audience ($$$) and generally feel like they are cheap fill-ins when you don't have something better to say when they are used. The younger kid audience is important too. But otherwise keep it up, I enjoyed the video. It's entirely up to you how you want to run your channel. And, assuming you are in the states, free speech has limits in terms of audience reached and doesn't mean there won't be any consequences.
Super castlevania 4 i believe its more right to be called a sequel in the s US release, rather a remake from japan! Because i considering more castlevania chronicles a cleaner remake than this game, there's allot of differences which does not exists in the first game! Yeah some were pretty close to the original nes release, like fight some monsters again like the mummy or frankenstein's monster etc,but this doesn't mean that we cannot have their return again on a newer adventure. They are so freaking iconic and you can reimagine in different ways in the sequels!
@@TwesomE I'm pretty sure I've heard that in Japan it WAS developed as a remake and not a sequel. However, I do agree with you, SCIV being a sequel to Simon's Quest just sounds and feels cooler to me! That's why I said "*ostensibly* a remake of the first game"
Indeed the game's a classic timeless piece of art hands down, but I already find it annoying af when people ONLY like this game EXCLUSIVELY because of the multidirectional whipping. Yes it's nice but that's NOT what makes this game for what it is. It's such a deal breaker with these people, the epitome of "tunnel vision." Even if there's a phenomenal Castlevania game that comes out the next day, even with OVERWHELMING POSITIVE reception, I promise you these same people will absolutely turn it down due to the lack of multidirectional whipping. I hate saying those two sickening words anyway, it's gotten that bad. In case you couldn't tell I'm fed up with James Rolfe's (AVGN) absolute fuckin' hard-on with this. He even turns down Rondo of all things because of the game's alternate route being secret and hidden away, which idfk how you even do that considering you quite literally are being rewarded MORE GAME to play when you do find that alternate route. Indeed nostalgia can be a good thing but sometimes it can cloud your judgement so fucking hard that silly shit like this can happen. "Multidirectional whipping" is not the fucking gospel, I assure you.
@@IBEW-71 Good to know, dude, I was just worried cause you went off on this schizophrenic Wall of Runes rant because of two words I used in the video even though the rest of it is explaining why I love the game so much past the m*ltidirectional wh$pping
@ Lol nah you're fine. I just happen to be a passionate fan of this series (needless to say) so that explains my tangent, sorry. Obviously I'm not accusing you nor am I upset but it just gets really old when people flock toward a game or other media because it has x y and z and said x y and z being extremely minor things. But that's my opinion and fortunately I'm not so petty to the point of shoving it down people's throats.
@@goddessmodel I mean shit you right, I like to think that every Castlevania game with Simon featured in it just counts as another Dracula kill. Best Belmont.
While it still isn't very difficult, it amazes me how none of these morons complaining about the game being too easy ever seem to even know about the more difficult second quest. I use a password to play the second quest exclusively.
Man, I still get chills from SC4. It really felt like you were in a horror movie.
@@MegaNardman That's SUCH a good way to phrase it, yes!

It's still my favourite of the linear Castlevania games.
Finally, I feel seen
In hindsight, feels like a last hurrah of this style before all we got was endless SotN redos

Best thumbnail ever.
Definitely I love this game.
