This essay doesn't distinguish the accessibility (i.e. making a truly complex game easier to get into) from the mechanical complexity (i.e. make a turbo casual game without any depth because we need wider audience). A modern game developer is dumb as rocks and I'm tired of the housewife-level gameplay in basically everything that comes out.
