Pope Francis celebrates Mass in front of thousands in Abu Dhabi

Pope Francis led the service at a sports venue in Abu Dhabi this morning where huge crowds waved banners and held up yellow-and-white Vatican flags. Inside the stadium, 50,000 Catholics with tickets to the mass cheered on the Pope while another 120,000 gathered outside to watch via video link. The worship was the centrepiece of the first papal visit to the Muslim Gulf, in a country where Christian worship is usually allowed only inside churches.
