Without Maidan (Feb-2014) there would not be annexation of Crimea (March-2014). If Minsk-2 was implemented then Donbas would be part of the Ukrainian Federation as autonomous territory (own language, own books in schools). If Istanbul’s agreement was signed (April-2022) then Donbas would be still on the table as independent territories and there would not be any referendums in these 4 oblasts to be absorbed into Russia (Sep-2022). More Ukraine fights then more they going to lose. Ukrainians should live for Ukraine and not die for Ukraine

If you want to end your life, then you can protest. Do you know Gonzalo Lira? Look into who he is and what happened. This is just an example.

Respect voor de manier waarop je op zo'n integere manier je vragen stelde. Ik werd al snel ongeduldig omdat ik andere informatie heb over het ontstaan van de oorlog en hoe het oostelijk deel van Oekraïne al veel langer lijdt onder haar eigen overheid.
Ik had haar hier naar willen vragen maar ik zie dat ik dat ben die dat wilde. Jij stemde je af op haar en daar kwam een heel mooi gesprek uit voort. Dank je wel hiervoor.

I am impressed with Maryia: what a brave, intelligent, compassionate lady! Without taking sides, I can only wish that this madness ends sooner rather than later.
From what I see is that she indeed wants the best for Ukraine. She does want the killing to stop but what I also understand is that she has no idea where this conflict comes from.
That Russia wants more territory is completely false and 100% western propaganda.
@@ctrl-del630 The Russians did get more territory by recognizing and then annexing the Donetsk and Luhansk republics. I am not judging - just stating the fact. There is an educated opinion that the Russians will also take and keep Odessa and Kharkiv with the surrounding territories. I think, before the war started, the Russians would be content with Ukraine being neutral and Donbas republics being given some autonomy and security guarantees by Ukraine. Now the Russians' "offer" to Ukraine is this: surrender on our conditions or cease to exist as an independent state.
Those territories no longer wanted to be apart of the, USA installed, Kiev regime after 2014.@@itsgoodforyou4235

Here is an educated person, a Doctor, and she believes that, "from the beginning the willing of Russia to have more territory." Fog of War?
More territory….? In stead of protecting the Russian/Ukrainian people of the Dombas against the attacks from the Ukrainian Army…and the Azov Bataljon…Did they know anything about that in Kiev?.. Did they know in Kiev that the Azov Bataljon burned down a school with 52 little children in it.. . They closed the doors, they were burned alive.

Ukrainians in general have no idea how it started and what happened. That is why Maryia also blames Russia. But she is looking in the wrong direction.
I think you asked very good questions and were exceptionally sensitive, but I wish you would have challenged a bit the idea that the war was caused by Russia's desire for Ukrainian land and just ask if she thinks there is any reasonable concern from the Russian government and the Russian people about Ukraine becoming a part on NATO.
And also, if she thinks the Russian ethnic minority in Ukraine was treated fairly after Maidan. Would've loved to hear her perspective. Maybe for a second interview.
There are limits to what Maryia can say without endangering herself. I guess, we have to be able "to read between the lines" and discern meaning from subtle clues.

At this point unconditional surrender is the only practical solution for Ukraine . Hitler's Germany also refused to admit defeat until Hitler killed himself, then Keitel signed unconditional surrender.

Ik snap het standpunt van Maryia. Zo staan de meeste west-Oekraïners er in. Maar wat zij zegt over de Russen klopt gewoonweg niet. De propaganda werkt goed.
En ook in dit geval moet je zeer goed tussen de regels luisteren.
Niet helemaal. Hij zou haar meer uit kunnen dagen maar dan beëindigt ze het gesprek. Maar hij daagt haar zeker uit.
Voorbeeld: Mariya zegt dat de Russen niet praten over vrede. De Russen zijn dus de kwaaien maar hij vraagt wel hoer dat dan zit vanuit de westerse zijde. Daarvan MOET toegegeven worden dat zij dat ook niet doen.
De waarheid is dat Als er vandaag overlegd wordt, morgen de oorlog stopt. Dit is ook wat Trump wil. En ja, deze shit komt uit Amerika. Net als nu Israel.
Imagine the human toll under Russian rule. Ukrainians' life under Russian rule would be like living death.

Compare demographic and economic statistics for Ukraine before 1991 and after, and you will find your answer. Ukraine was at the height of its development prior to USSR collapse. It never recovered after that.

@fishythicklips They seem to be very highly skilled in all things computer (very effective sea babies and now, submarine drones). Russia has lost many of their computer people, their educated people, and people with money who fled the impending totalitarian state. Russia's future is diminished. Ukraine's future will shine.

Truly painful to watch this lady whose life has been turned sideways because of some cynical people who engineered the Ukrainians in association with Ukrainians like “Yats the man”, klitschko, Poroshenko and the right-wingers from Azov who aided the foreigners to push their country into this malaise.
