I had a question where i had to round 2702.99 to 3 sig figs and put it in scientific notation, i got the answer 2.70x10 with exponent 3 but the answer key showed the scientific notation as 2.70x10 with an exponent 2. What did i do wrong?

@@afl.office8333 for example....in your case.....231216545465... assume a decimal point after 1 digit or 2... that's your choice... and count the numbers after the decimal point...here there are 11 digits after the point...and I rounded them off ....so I got the answer above...and keep in mind that the number of digits after the point are considered as something raised to ten...like 10 raise to 11 etc.
