It was a massive mistake to write out Lou Beale, she was a formidable character, the matriarch. She could have had many years in Eastenders considering Anna Wing who played her lived until 98 and only passed away in 2013
I always loved the way she seemed so fit and strong lecturing and given her final advice to everyone - while also knowing she was going to die in her sleep that night. How did she know?
I wondered that too. I remembered watching it at the time and thinking was she referring to Vicky or maybe the Dagmar fire. There is a scene from an episode a few months earlier where Den calls to the flat to see Michelle and Vicky not realising Lou was there. It was also hinted in that scene that she knew
Anna Wing who played Lou was so upset at being written out she refused to film her final scenes, Pauline just went into her room, came out and said she had died...
Lou Beale was the matriach to end all matriach's!
EastEnders celebrates its 35th Anniversary tomorrow I still can’t believe it’s been 10 years since Bradley died. Here’s to the next 35 years!
It won't last another 35 years. Ratings are already in the toilet.
@@BLTKellys I mainly watch on iPlayer as do most ratings mean nothing it’s nearly 2021
Miss the old eastenders

I always assumed it was her decision to leave the show..
@@seansmith445 it was.
She thought it had become trash
She was a Quaker and didn’t like the way it was going with the murders and beatings.

If only Kathy, Suki, Sonia, Shirley and Dot lived up to Lou Beale's legacy
Shirley could
So sad another eastenders legend gone
The actress Anna Wing that played Lou lived for another 25 years.
‘You’re a bad lad! And I know it’

Such old eastenders I miss it but in the same time I prefer newer eastenders
“They’ll close it down, do the big refurbish.” = Vic Fire in 1992!
I wonder if Lou new Den was the father of vicky
I think the scene here proves that she did

Might be a hint to tonight's episode...
Matilda Ziegler was Mr Bean's hard-done-by girlfiend and Kevil Allen was DC Robert Kray in The Thin Blue Line!
Is that Rainie talking to Frank at the beginning ?
No it's Donna Kathy's daughter
Anna Wing who played Lou was so upset at being written out she refused to film her final scenes, Pauline just went into her room, came out and said she had died...
Anna Wing wanted to leave. It was her choice.
Did Lou know Den was Vicki’s dad?
