Ethan looks adorable in his little elephant babysitter outfit 😘
❤ Ethan you are super fortunate to do this at your age. Thank you so much for sharing.
I think this may be my favorite of your Thailand videos. You are completely fearless and seem to absolutely thrive when you're outside your comfort zone. I was back in Thailand in November... my first visit since 2016. I immediately felt at home. I quickly realized that I will live in Thailand again. It's home. 🇹🇭
same. love it.
@@johnramos263 @Steve Thank you from the bottom of my Thai heart ❤🇹🇭
Thai boys are some of the cutest in the world imho.
What an amazing experience with the elephants, how lucky. You are becoming such a good video maker, you have wonderfully genuine persona and perfect presenting and editing skills. Hands down better than any of the large media companies. I really enjoyed this.
What an amazing world. And your own amazing personal journey. Thank you for taking us along! Elephants are so majestic yet so gentle. 😍
Also, all of your travel videos are very cinematic beauty. Thailand's great, for that simple hospitality. Same thing for Costa Rica---is my favorite.
I thought your elephant guide was a charming man! He's a natural...like you are!
This is great! Reminds me of when I was in Thailand in 1973. You can count on the Thais to always smile and be very helpful to visitors either in this type of location or in a city in some stores and clubs. I'll never forget my 4-month stay in Thailand --- it was truly beautiful and instructive --- I was able to learn simple conversational Thai so that I could buy things in stores and get instructions on how and where to go. It's a beautiful country. Thank you for this video!
You are on a once in a lifetime adventure that a lot of people including me would love to do.
Love watching and learning from your eyes, enjoy every minute but stay safe.
Your host at the Elephant sanctuary seemed like a super nice guy and funny too
I doubt that I have ever seen as engaging a travel video as this one. The notion of interacting with elephants has completely modified my thinking about those intelligent albeit giant creatures. Well-done and thanks so much for expanding my frequently jaded view of the world. Just as a side remark, the rail line from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is meter gauge (1000mm). Most rail lines today are either what's called "Standard" gauge (1430mm) or Broad or Russian Gauge (1524mm). More than half the world's railways are Standard Gauge. The wider gauges provide a much smoother ride, which is why your trip may have been a little bumpy.
Would like longer videos. Just had time to get started on my teeth cleaning ritual. Elephants are scary. Those surprised me in being so gentle considering their background. Liked the way Ethan reacted to that flower behind his ear and the way he looked.
Beautiful beautiful Thailand green countryside. I mostly have seen crowded city streets.
Fun fact: In some parts of the world, elephant dung is collected and used to make coffee. The coffee is said to have a unique flavor and is highly sought after by coffee connoisseurs. 😮
…yum? 😂 Didn’t try that when I was there. Maybe next time.
I've heard Sum Cum Yong Gai is adelicacy too. 😋
We do that in Thailand too actually, and the beans are super expensive. There's also another variant called กาแฟขี้ชะมด, which the beans are eaten and partially digested by Asian palm civet. I have never tried either of the variant but if you're travelling in Thailand you should find a lot of good local roasters in Chaingmai🥰
Ha, they tricked you
Foulgers uses cow dung I think. That stuff gives me the runs
Chiang Mai is my favourite place in Thailand. So many great things to do there.
Great Vlog. Keep living your best life Ethan.
We found the Dining Carriage at the rear of the train, after walking through 2nd and 3rd class.
Hanging out on the rear door was the best.
That connecting door unlocks when families travel or if 4 friends travel together🎉🎉 (partying)🎉🎉
Loved the Elephant rescue section, top marks for content and travel magic.
Hi Ethan, Thailand is an amazing country and Thai people are beautiful.Have a great adventure Buddy.
Love you long time 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
4:04 AWWWWWW.. that road on the top of the mountain!
4:15 The sweetest and most energetic doggie.❤
Another wonderful visit to an amazing part of our planet. Thank you so much for this video. Safe travels Ethan.
This man always entertains.
It's always a big fun to travel with you in these adventures of yours,Ethan.I really hope you to continue this, troughout the world.I miss Millie.Take care.Love from Brazil.
So cute when feigning sleep ❤❤❤
Ethan, I would have loved to be there with you. I absolutely love elephants. I would have been brushing them, hugging them, petting them and talking to them. LOL The food looks delicious. The bunk beds on the train and the little rooms looked cozy. Your videos are always fun and entertaining. 🤗
You're really living the dream. Congratulations to your growing success on youtube. Safe travels around the world as we see it through your lens. "Pick the least sketchy alley and walk down it." LOL. You're a fabulous tour guide :)
I love 🐘 🐘 🐘, they're so majestic, I'm very jealous. Another really interesting & fun video. Safe travels 🤗
Ethan! You're opening up the world for us with these wonderful videos! You rock!
Chiang Mai is one of my favourite places in the world. If you get time, explore to the north of the city, it’s very pretty with beautiful waterfalls. Elephants are always so beautiful to see there too. Really loving this channel Ethan, you’re producing some great material 👏❤️❤️❤️
You looked quite adorable in your habiliment, the unexpected mishap however made your guide quite excited. Keep up the good work, enjoy your travels and be safe. 😉
Glad you went to the Elephant Park, it's one my favorite places to visit on UA-cam videos. Chaba is a sweetheart, I'm jealous that you got to hug her 🥰
thank you for showing us the train ride. their passenger trains look very clean and modern and it appears that they have cell and wifi service all the way. I'm sure flying is also quite easy to do but relaxing and enjoying the scenery is priceless. I would guess that they do offer dining and drinks as well on the train due to the length of the trip. hopefully you can show us more of chang mai as it is a top destination for many americans. thanks as always.
They do normally, but on my trip they didn’t have any food or drinks. Just an unlucky exception. 😂
Soo much fun! Laughed like crazy watching you and you quirkyness
WONERFUL HOST! LUV YOUR SLIGHTLY DRY SENSE OF HUMOR. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT ADVICE!
I want to visit Thailand so badly and go to an Elephant sanctuary. I love watching this and seeing how great it actually is.
I've heard that Chiang Mai is one of the places for expats to move in Thailand, if they want to live in a cooler location of Thailand, good to get first-hand information of the cooler weather from you.
Awesome video. Great cameraman work. I always look forward to your videos!
Really enjoyed the video! Nice tree house! Thanks!
Ethan, I love watching your videos and traveling vicariously with you. 😁

Ethan, U are such a warm, happy guy. So emmersed in the joy of life. You're totally adorable.
Fergus x x 🤗 😘
I've traveled on this train... I loved it once I finally relaxed and enjoyed the journey.. 👍🏼👍🏼
This vid had me laughing so many times! I'm so impressed by all the new things you're willing to see and do. I mean, I know that's why you're traveling (duh!) but every new adventure must produce some level of anxiety. You must be inspiring people to leave their comfort zone, like you do. Bravo, Ethan! 👏
I'm so gutted I never got to visit Thailand when my parents were living out there. I'm not likely to leave the UK any time soon so for now I'll have to live vicariously through your videos 😆
Don't miss taking a trip up Doi Inthanon. It'll get down to 40 degrees, so dress warm! When I went it was completely shrouded by a cloud and very damp.
You are such a sweet handsome and beautiful young man with such respect for other cultures and new experiences. I just said goodbye to one of my long time pups last night and your smiling sweet video lightened my grief. Thank you.
Thank goodness you posted this video. I haven’t seen you in a while. I was getting ready to inquire about your safety. You looked good in your thai attire, especially the hat.
You’re amazing. I feel bad that you’re on these travels alone. I hope sharing it with us makes you feel like we’re there with you. I wouldn’t have had the spunk or money to do these trips when I was your age. But so great you are on them. Very educational as well as fun. I love the elephants. Hope to see them someday with my husband. Hugs. John
I love and ride trains all the time, and the opening about that train counter was awesome! 🙏
The train looks nice. Ethan I am glad that you had fun with the Elephants. That food looks so good. I love Pat thai! I am happy that you are having fun in Thailand. I hope that you are having a great night.
Watching you discover the awe and beauty of Chiangmai, and Thailand 🇹🇭, reminds me of my first arrival here 20 years ago. It's refreshing to see a handsome young man exploring the world. 🥰 Thank you for sharing this with us. 🙏
Cute outfit at the Elephant Sanctuary. I would've wanted to keep it (pj's)
Fantastic! what an experience with the Elephants..
Great video, loved the elephants. Thanks for sharing.
How cool was that to be able to wash the elephants! I'm a little jelly right now lol.
Wow, what an amazing experience! Thank you for sharing it with us. You live the life I wish I could.
This was such a cool trip! If you are ever in the UK I recommend that you try the Night Riviera train from London to Penzance. The train coaches are from the 1970's but they are really smooth and the journey is so scenic. I have to get over to Thailand to try this at some point. Great video 👍
The technical aspects of your videos are getting better and better.
Goodness you're gorgeous Ethan!
Right?! He has the most beautiful smile. I wish he’d start an OnlyFans… **sigh.
😢
Ethan! Thanks for such an interesting video👍🏻. I loved ❤Thailand 🇹🇭and its nature. The elephants 🐘 impressed me how docile they behaved. Bangkok 🇹🇭looks like a fabulous city 🌆 from the air. It must be an unforgettable trip! 🛫
6:30 omg you're the most adorable human on the planet
I traveled through Asia when I was about your age. I visited Japan, Taiwan and Singapore on my way to Indonesia. In Indonesia I spent a few days in Jakarta then flew to Balikpapan on the island of Borneo. I lived there for a year from June of 1977 to June of 1978. I taught English as a Second Language at a mission school along with one other volunteer. We lived with the mission pilot and his family. On my free time I explored on the small motorcycle I was provided with. I did travel to the jungle a bit and the coolest excursion were a couple flights into the interior to a Dayak village. It was one of the most beautiful laidback places I have ever been to. One time we flew to a more remote location. The “runway” was overgrown with grasses about 3 feet tall so landing was quite the experience as the grass swooshed by. We met a group of what I believe were Penan people who were hunter gatherers dressed as you would picture remote Indigenous Bornean people. They even let me try their dart blowgun. I returned home by going west on Aeroflot Airlines from what was the USSR. We had a brief stop in New Delhi, India then flew to Moscow. I has a day layover so I visited Red Square and took a bus tour. It was bit nerve racking being a 22 year old traveling alone but it was fine after all. I then flew to London where I spent a few days and did a lot of sightseeing. I then returned back to Massachusetts to the college I was attending.
In early 1980 I was recruited to go work with Laotian refugees for a half year so I accepted the opportunity. I volunteered in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand and had a very fulfilling job. I turned 24 while I was there. I was so inspired by the courage of the refugees despite having to flee home because they were forced to leave when the new government came to power. I did et to see around the area and went to the Candle Festival held on a Buddhist holiday where they parade with giant carvings with intricate features it was quite a sight. We also traveled to Surin to the Elephant Roundup. I would never go there again as I now know how the elephants were mistreated. I did love the elephants and would like to visit on of the elephant sanctuaries. I traveled back to Massachusetts in December with a brief layover in Seoul and a couple days in LA.
I shared this because I always encourage people to travel when there young and an opportunity arises. I think your travels will stick with yo for a very long time. If you get the chance to spend a longer time living in another culture you will find you become a more understanding person without the ethnocentrism tagging plagues our culture. So Bon Voyage and safe travels to you.
Keep living and loving and spreading kindness
As filipino my dream bucket liat is to go Thailand and visit all the buddhist temples and have a buddhist monk tattoo with a katha or mantra... It is always a pleasure to watch your visits and toura around Thailand its like I am with you taking a tour🙂
Love your voice. You need to get your own program on the History Channel or Travel Channel. Great video Ethan
Thank you Ethan great info .Take care
Omg that’s the most adorable hat I’ve ever seen ❤ Another really cool video too!
Loved the interaction with the elephants.
Thanks so much Ethan..what a wonderful travelogue in Thailand..fascinating piece on the elephants...the train of course and chang mai .. you do a wonderful job on your vlog.. more please..lol..xxxx😍🤩♥️♥️😊🤗
Domestic flights from Bangkok to Chiang Mai are very quick and even cheaper than train...
Very cool video and thanks for your wonderful travelling to show everyone. 😊Cheers.!
You have pressed ELCB test button before taking a shower. The boiler won't work if you do that. The button is for testing the electric shock prevention system.
What a great video! Loved the elephants!!
Oh, we have those folding plants in Brazil too. Interesting to see it so far away from here
Enjoying your travel videos. They’re very interesting. You are much braver than I am in eating out in places and trying new things. You looked very cute in your elephant caretaker outfit. It looked comfortable. I hope to see more of Chang Mai area.
Such a great travel video Ethan. You're So cute dude. Great adventure!
Ethan you are fear less. You are really good at keep things Interesting. Dieing to know if you have a Significant other. You are a kind person. Hope you find your soul mate. Stay safe in your travels. We love your channel We are so Proud of you 🎉 . Thank you for Sharing a little of your life with us. 🥰
I used to live a half mile from an elephant refuge in Nashville,TN about 23 years ago. I love your adventures!!!
I love Thai food.....glad you're sharing your travel adventures---its an education you cannot get anywhere else; I have lived in Italy, Korea, and Japan.
So jealous of this adventure. I fell in love with SE Asia and spent a total of about 8 weeks there - but that was between 1995 and maybe 2010. I'll get back someday. I did elephant feeding, and yes elephant riding (perhaps frowned on now), not the bathing though. My train was FAR less comfortable - that was Vietnam and an overnight from Hanoi to Lou Cai on the way to Sapa (the most beautiful spot ever, at least then). Amenities? Hah. You peed on the tracks below. My first class ticket meant 4 strangers in a cabin with bunks and a drop leaf table that clattered the entire night. Netflix - right - I don't remember cell service period. Anyway, back to Thailand - the motto there is you can get almost anything you want, incluing stuff that doesn't make it onto monetized channels.
Fun video. Those elephants are so cool
I am enjoying watching all your videos! My life has been pretty stressy lately and these were part of my nightly cool-down and relax thingie. (What is it about a guy camping out that does something to relax me? I don't know! ) Stress has pretty well ended but the vids are still nice! Thanks! ----mike
Wow! I love this video. Such great editing....nice pace, great shots, good use of music. Way to go Ethan! I might never get to Thailand, but I feel like I had a great virtual visit.
I'm beginning to think we are looking at a future Sir David Attenborough. So entertaining and enlightening.
😊🙂
Thanks for taking me out of my world for a while!👍
I want to meet you so bad. You inspire me every day! Plus you are so dang cute .
E .. wow this is phenomenal! One of my favourites.
Enjoyed the video Ethan. The scenery was very beautiful.Sorry you got pooped on by the elephant, LOL.
I was just in Thailand two weeks ago. It was so awesome, ate and ate and ate. I did Hug Elephant Sanctuary, LOVED it!!! I will definitely go to Chiang Mai again. Just found you, really enjoyed watching your video.
Love Chiang Mai - one of my favourite places
I’m Thai pp thanks for made this video I very like it , rn am exchange student in USA I very miss Thailand 😢
It used to be that the overnight train to Chiang Mai had porters to set up the bed, and hot food and breakfast you could order and they delivered to the room. I am surprised those services are gone.
I love the Elephant sanctuary. That looks like fun.
Dude you're doing a lot of the things I plan on doing when I visit Thailand in february! I cannot wait I want to be there now!
Wow, that train was nice! Also you are a good elephant handler
Thank u Ethan. Enjoyed yr videos. Keep it coming.
Thank you, once again.
I recently found your channel. I really enjoy your travels. I wish I had such a great sense of adventure as you do. Thanks for sharing. Be safe, and continue to have fun!😀
Ethan, this really is a great video filled with information and scenery. I had never seen inside those new First Class train cabins. Small but nice and with a shower? Wow ... the few times I wanted to use 1st Class train to Chiang Mai, they were always sold out at least 2 months in advance, which was pre-COVID and just when the new trains started. Did you by your train tickets online, at an agent (your hotel or in Bangkok), or at the train station? Thank you so much for showing some of the best things about Thailand. As for the pushy vedors at all train and boat stations, you handled it brilliantly: ignore them if you can, respond in they say something wrong like "Why you do that?" when you were filming yourself.
I booked online through the national railway website. 😊
@@ethantravels WOW nice. That website barely functioned when I lived in Thailand, 2002-2020. Nice to hear back.
Wonderful video !! Thank you for sharing it. Keep up the great work !
You are absolutely adorable with those elephants 😍
Awesome video, Ethan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love this video, watched it about three times now.
You said 70 degrees and I instantly got a chill
