my metal thingy under the roller doesn't move, so mine is like trying to thread a needle with sticky tape screwed up everywhere trying to negotiate the small gap...ridiculous!!

Well. at the risk if exposing myself as completely not mechanically minded, I made a big mistake. Before finding this video, I thought you had to unscrew tge center to take the roll off. Well now i have a lot of pieces and don’t have a clue how to put it back together 😱
Hi there so there is 2 spools on the tape gun do you not use the skinnier spool for anything? I see that you are just using the big spool to bring the tape under? Mine has 2 spools like yours one skinny and one fat? Thanks

But my mother didn't raise a fool or a quitter. Thank God for you and You Tube. Simple. Before my husband left I saw him looking at the tap gun with a confused look on his face. Not all dispensers have the same little metal flap. Some are sprung and you have to hold it back with one finger as you pull the tape through the gap. The Sellotape one my wife bought at Costco today has a fixed one that only enables a small (3mm - 1/8") gap! Still, it's enough to feed it through once
Does it have a cutter on the end Looks like a serrated blade You press the tape on and then bend it towards the serrated blade at the same time you twist to cut

Hi Jon, what is the brand of your tape dispenser? I want to get me one. I purchased a high end heavy duty Scotch dispenser and it is absolutely worthless and wastes a lot of tape.
Premier I have no idea I think it came from Harbor Freight but it could have came from Staples I Googled it and they're all over the place for just a few dollars

I figured it out, but there is something wrong with a design if there needs to be a video to load the darn thing!

The tape roll does come off and you can use the tape without the dispenser. You aren't stuck in that case.

I have one question as you taping the box do you use your hands to tear off the piece of tape or the tape gun dispenser does the work itself?
Normally it's designed for the tape dispenser to cut it off when you tilt it upwards and flick your wrist
So press on the box at the end of your run
tilt it upwards a little bit slightly and then flick your wrist and it will cut the tape
