Been driving fuel trucks like those for 13 years! What you’ll want to do is get a bulk tank on site so you can order in 8k at a time. Then your smaller trucks will pull off that tank and never leave the property so you won’t need all the crazy DOT stuff for them and a licensed driver. There is a lot to go into permits to haul on the road plus where you buy your fuel. Let someone else pay for that and just get your own storage tank.
Fuels guy here. Drove them for years in the air force. Worked on them and lots of other stuff. First off, the black button above the reel is the hose reel rewind. When you unroll the hose that will reel in the hose if the motor is working. It’s air driven. Two. The large red handle with the cable connected. That needs to be “in” towards the truck before you try and engage the PTO. Usually to engage the PTO on these trucks. You set the parking brake. Put the gear shifter in drive. Then engage the PTO. Then switch it back to Neutral. Once you do that, then you pull that large red handle inside the cam box under the meter. At this point you’ll hear the pump engage
19:37 Brother I used to work on the tank and pump part of the truck. Those letters and numbers on the front right side of your tank tells me the last inspection was done in 1991 one needs to be done every year. Look for a company that can get you certified and get everything working right. Look up HM 183 or Cargo Tank inspection company for External Visual Inspection, Internal Visual, Leakage Test, Pressure Testing, Thickness Testing, EPA 27. They’ll get everything working right.
I build and work on these in Columbus Ohio at CH Bradshaw. I also do the annual and 5 year DOT inspections on these. You have to make sure the system has no leaky gaskets and your vents properly work....if not you could collapse a head on the tank and it's a pain to get back out. Fly me out and I got you no charge on anything. Opportunity to just be around the crew would be payment enough for me
I use to run those trucks at the Aircenter when I first got out the navy.. the avgas trucks always been a runner. The comments are correct. The handle by the fuel meter should be in and the truck in drive when you engage the PTO. When you shift to neutral after the PTO light should come on and you’ll hear the pump spin. The JET A truck had new brakes and then was only ran for 6 months before it was retired. Always had carb issues. I believe the meter and pump on the Jet A truck had been rebuilt within a year of it being retired. We also always had PRIST additive in the JET A because the old owner flew leers and it was a necessity.
Just thinking outloud- can he use the Jet A truck for racing fuel storage/dispensing? I used to work for an airline that flew to the Bahamas, and in a few places we had parked fuel trucks used mainly for storing & dispensing- just had them topped off every few months.
The first lever you tried is for the emergency valve in the belly of the main tank. Looks like it has a veeder root register and differential pressure filter setup. You have to use the clutch to get the pto in gear. I build these for a living. Any parts you need let me know, I have most everything you need in stock. Emergency shut off lever closes that belly valve.
Brother, ATA103, NFPA 407, NFPA 30, NFPA 30A, NFPA 70, and NPDES are the national codes that you're gonna need to follow to make sure you have an okay fuel delivery system with the refuelers you got. There is a lot of record keeping and reporting to do to make sure you stay on the proper side of liability, because if there is a fuel problem a plane can't just pull over. Please get some help by people who have experience in this world, they'd be happy to help. This is what i get paid to do and I've seen it go sideways in the worst ways, so please make sure whoever is running the fuel operation has the right tools. Love the videos, keep up the great work. EDIT: Also check out FAR139.3201, FAA A/C 150/5230-4C, & FAA 14 CFR 139.321. This is not a comprehensive list, just what I was able to remember off the top of my head.
was going to say something similar to this i fuel aircraft’s for a living & we just had a huge recall on a bunch jet-A fuel filters breaking down & causing filter debris to get into aircraft.
As an aircraft fueler for 25+ years, those old trucks bring back memories. It’s amazing the old equipment some FBOs still operate. The cable is a bonding cable. Haven’t seen grounding cables used since the 90s, they may still in some places, but haven’t seen it. That red handle in the Jet truck is a manual wind handle for the hose. They keep them on the truck in case the electric drive fails. Single point pumps at different gpm depending on the aircraft systems. A Blackhawk depending on fuel order can take several minutes, 10-15 from empty if I recall. Just be happy they aren’t electric sensors on the reels. They can be a pain to troubleshoot. If you ever have any operational or procedural questions, feel free to ask. Disclaimer, I’m not a mechanic.
Brother, I'm a Fuels Engineer in Aus. That JET A truck is worth plenty, you got a solid deal. All ill say is that maintaining fuel quality is a big task. Each day you need to be doing bottom water drains to avoid microbiologial contamination (MBC). The stainless gear pump and bulk fuel meters just need a service / calibration. Coalescer filters need replacing and the E-Stop circuits need an overhaul. Worth adding a rock solid spark arrestor in the exhaust. $10k to get into serviceable condition. The Avcat truck, looks like its painted stainless... if not always keep it full to minimise rust. Happy to discuss and bounce any ideas off.
@@johnswan4551 Well I hope so too, but the stuff I see him do just makes me shake my head in disbelief. I get that having a UA-cam channel means "entertainment", but being foolish and careless is not entertaining in the least to me.
This comment section is top tier. Talented and helpful individuals. Much love to alll of you guys for you support in helping your boy Cleet learn the tricks of the trade and avoiding some costly mistake with regulations and compliance.
Honestly, his subtle language speaks volumes of the kinda guy he is. Dale would be so proud, hes doing laps in heaven with a smile on his face, knowing his legacy has been carried on through Cleet!
USAF fuels here, the rag wrapped around the hose reel is likely to catch the leaky coupling. That style uses wax rings to get a seal. There should be zerk fittings to fill with grease to hold the wax in place. The red L shaped thing is a manual rewind handle thats missing the hand piece. Upvotes for the onsite bulk tank and replacement of the filter. There are so many little things that will need looked over. You might try looking up a daily inspection checklist for a C-300 and an R-11. They both have some similaritys to your trucks
I've worked on tankers for 14 years if you have any questions let me know. I'm in Arizona but for parts I'm sure there is a polar service center in Florida. Not opposed to FaceTime to walk through valves and quarter turn valves internals the meter and register
Same here just from ky. 26 years in the tank business. That was a steal of a deal . The stainless tank alone is worth it . One on a trailer to pull with the other .
Cleet, just know there are FAR regulations for owning and operating aviation fuel trucks. FAR139.321 Permits are state specific. -Hoses have a shelf/usage life -Filters need to be changed monthly -Fuel needs to be tested monthly -Quality control needs to be documented daily -required to have a 20BC fire extinguisher on the trust at all times and inspected monthly. Any questions reach out. I’m certified fuel safety supervisor per the FAA
What are the differences with this being a private airport that isnt for anyone to land at? Its not like someone just flying near is allowed to land here. Does this make any permitting or other "legal" red tape easier as far as these fueling trucks?
This guy sounds like he knows his stuff. There is a difference between personal use and storage and retail reselling. We did the former and it was easier and less hassle, but you want to do the testing and filters religiously for your own safety. You can learn the maintenance to keep them dependable. We saved 30 to 40 percent on our fuel costs.
One thing, don’t get into the mindset of stretching your personal limits just to get home for the cheap fuel, make the fuel stop and tank up , it’s not worth it.
@@warrenmichael918 he stated several times in the video about “we will be selling fuel in no time” and the fact that he has tenants at the airport is what makes me believe he will be selling fuel.
Rule of thumb, when opening the top hatch of those tanks, stand on the side of the handle before pulling the handle all the way up. Once you release the pressure from the tank then pull it open. It may not seem like it but those tanks can build the enough pressure to seriously hurt you if you just pop it open.
This is the last video I get to watch before I leave for Navy Basic Training tomorrow, I’m looking forward to the 10 weeks of content waiting for me when I get back!🤙🏼
Let’s gooooo!!! Finally an upload!!! Anyone else having withdrawals?! lol Cleet done got us addicted during the MOF 😂 Oh and Happy Father’s Day to all you Dad Bods out there
No hobbies to occupy your time? Here’s an idea, use all of that time that you watch other people become successful and put that time to use for YOURSELF to become successful. Wild concept ain’t it?
Those era gas ford are notorious for the motors locking up, the hood opening like it does funnels the water right into the intake. Diesel creek rebuilt his, it’s like saveable with a dingle berry hone and just disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled
Agreed, those motors are bullet proof , you should have a spark arrestor intake “filter” (like a marine one) try to keep back fires to a minimum. It would be best if it didn’t need ether to start it, just always remember what you got in that big tank.
We got a f700 at my work and we use to fill our trailers up at the end of the day. Its a bull of a truck. Reliable as hell. And for how you'll get fuel. As others have commented. Get a company to deliver the fuel for you. Youll avoid all the fees and licenses while savings on the bulk fuel. 😊
Cleet...On a automatic transmission with Muncie or Chelsea manual cable shift cable you have to be in "Drive" pull the PTO cable to engage the PTO and then back up to Neutral. You'll strip (round off) your engage gears if not done in that order.
I drove that craig air center av gas fuel truck in the summer of 2007 when i worked at craig sir center in between college semesters. Very cool! We had a fuel farm on site where we topped up the trucks so that we didn't have to dive the trucks on public roads. This meant the trucks and driver did not need the appropriate hazmat credentials to drive a fuel truck on public roads.
I wouldn’t call a private airport a shisty operator, as long as everyone is trained in its use and knows how to be safe, it’s aviation, not rocket science.
@troynyholm232 yes there was a training program we had to go through before we could do any driving or fueling operations. I'm just saying it was less involved than having to drive these vehicles on public roads.
The lever is your belly valve which opens the tank to the pump, the button you were pressing was likely your hose reel. To engage the pto try putting in in drive, pull the cable, then go back to neutral to engage. I run propane delivery trucks and there are a lot of similarities. The older trucks like that don’t have the electronic pto engagement, it’s all manual.
The big lever is the belly valve. It is to isolate the take from the pipes so if something broke it would not drain the entire tank. In new trucks it opens automatically when you kick on the pump to start fueling . All those emergency shut off levers you were pulling on should run cable to the belly valve so in an emergency and you couldn't stop the flow of fuel you could pull them and the belly valve can close and stop the fuel flow.
The red levers with the cables are the internal valve(s). The internal valves are at the bottom of the tank to keep product in the tank. They don't have anything to do with the pto and pump other than they need to be open before pumping or loading. If I lived closer to Florida I'd come give you a hand. I fabricated tankers for many years.
Put trans in drive, engage PTO then back to neutral. Putting it in drive stops the trans input shaft. More than likely an Allison AT545 Always cracks me up when they try working on any kind of big trucks.
Coming from someone who does work on big engines like that, you guys should take on the challenge. They’re not to terrible. Everything is just massive compared to your 7.3 brother
Cleetus is an awesome guy, and smart biz owner. Always inclusive “We’re airport owners now.” That’s why we love this channel. The continuity of all the players is the special sauce.
The first job I had was a ramp rat at a small FBO in SC. I pumped alot of fuel into everything from Ercoupes to Citations with those trucks.(Corner slowly)❤😊The mystery button retracts the fuel hose reel
The black button is the hose reel power rewind. 🤓 For what your doing with it, it’s well worth dropping a motor in that thing. Without even doing up the aesthetics, if the tank and pump system are solid, you could triple your money making it roadworthy. We used to buy worn out fuel oil and propane bulk trucks as well as rack body cylinder delivery trucks. We would rebuild them from the ground up. Saved a TON of money even with the hours we put in rebuilding them. Our fleet was the newest looking old truck fleet in the entire area, lol. 😎
I drive an International jet fuel truck at work every day. The puppies look ugly but get work done. As long as you keep the tank clean it'll last a lifetime. Just make sure to shut off the control valves on the back when not in use. Plus the airbrake really needs maintained.
The draw bar would get attached to the front axel in the centre and connected to the steering linkages. Turns it into a 4 wheel trailer with steering. We convert old long bed trucks into hay carting trailers here in Australia this way. Otherwise you have tons of weight loading down on the hitch of whatever you pull it with.
Hey brother. Fuel trucks are my jam. I inspect and repair them for a living. I’m up in Canada but there are many parallels. You did not in fact get a good deal. You tanks will require a fair bit of work. Look on the passenger side front head. There are inspection decals. V(visual), K(leakage), I(internal), P(pressure). The visual and leakage tests are required yearly and the internal and pressure are every 5 years. The seized up lever operator is your internal valve operator. It is a BETTS mechanical operator, single compartment. Then you have the little paddle lever on the front of the tank. That is your emergency shut off for the internal. The little black button you were pressing should be the hose reel switch. Your tanks will need inspection regardless of whether of not they ever see the highway. A company is not legally allowed to fill a tank that is out of date. Cheers brother.
You’ll probably need a Class B CDL with tank and hazmat endorsements, you’ll need to have clearance to enter the pipeline to get fuel along with a supplier who you’re purchasing from. For the jet fuel truck I would recommend you have the tank, pump and components steamed and certified, as well as having the pump tested, scully system tested which I believe is mandatory, the other truck you’d likely want to have cleaned the same way as well as certified.
Sounds like it'd be easier to put a storage tank on the property and use the trucks to deliver fuel to the hangars, so they never leave the airfield. Hire someone else to deliver the fuel.
What if he just gets a bulk tank on site for each and refills his tankers from the bulk tanks, trucks never hit DOT roadway, don’t need endorsements to drive on your own property, has the fuel delivered to site to fill the bulk tanks. Clearly no extra certifications needed if you have a pilots license to refuel your own plane or helicopters since most airports you pump and pay yourself if it’s recreational use and not commercial.
@@chrisscott6227 This is most likely what he will do, keep these on property as mobile bulk tanks. Now, about the pay at the pumps at an airport, youre right about the pilots that just buy and pump their own fuel there, they need no extra certs or anything BUT,,,the airport most likely has to have some sort of permits and certifications to have those fuel tabks and pumps. This being a non public and private use airport might also make things different too.
@@chrisscott6227 because he’s still paying a higher cost for fuel having someone else to bring it in and fill those tanks, transport costs aren’t exactly cheap. I think the small costs to get a CDL and having his equipment cleaned and certified will pay for themselves rather quickly. It’s a significant cost savings when you’re getting fuel at rack price vs transport price. Eventually I think he’ll end up with a couple of bulk tanks on site as well.
I believe that drain and steam out the compartments and air dry is the correct method. Also if you plan on driving that on highway the driver will need a CDL with Hazmat endorsement. May be best use to just get it running and use it as storage and filling your aircraft. The fuel company can come fill it onsite
I am re-watching this after that stoopid storm/hurricane is everywhere in my nees feed and i dont even live in the US😅. I really hope the bald eagle airfield is "okay"...😢
The Beechcraft Bonanza is an iconic aircraft in the general aviation industry, known for its V-tail design and enduring popularity for over seven decades. The aircraft earned the nickname "Doctor Killer" due to accidents caused by inexperienced pilots who struggled to handle its complex features, such as the V-tail and retractable landing gear.
I pictured myself on who wants to be a millionaire and this be the last question that I needed the answer to. Literally in my head after he said doctor killer I immediately wanted to know what that was about.
My parents had one before I was born. They sold it to a dentist. He crashed it, and unfortunately passed away. I'm not sure if anyone else was on board. This must have been in the mid 70's. They always referred to them as the "Doctor Killers" as well.
Worked on these units for the last 10 years in the fuel industry. To engage the PTO, put your foot on the brake, shift it into drive, pull your PTO cable, shift it back into neutral. I would avoid running it dry for long periods of time. The cables you have on the D/S are for the internal belly valve, one on the front of the underslung is an emergency which will close everything, the one in the underslung on the drivers side will open the belly valve and the vent on top of the tank. Chances are if those have been sitting for that long you're gonna have a few dried out gaskets and seals.
The jet truck has a stainless tank BTW. SHOULDN'T be too bad-except ya'll are WAY down South-and that lovely thing ya get called humidity..................plays all kinds of games with Jet Juice A.K.A Jet Fuel. Jet is nothing more than Kerosene-a bit "drier"-think less entrained water-which is always present. Great additive called "Prist" minimizes that-that stuff is usually added at either the refinery or at the bulk tank farm. The 100LL truck-Avgas-AKA Liquid Lead-won't have near the issues with storage as does Jet-except it too holds water & must be sumped regularly.
You can pick up a 460 used for pretty cheap, I've gotten 2 out of old RVs for under a grand, they are pretty bulletproof, as long as it isn't locked up they come back to life pretty easy.
Knew a fellow that was a Army mechanic in Vietnam. He had an old tanker that wasn't needed that they went out in town and picked up girls to bring back on base and hid them for the weekend in the motor pool. The girls hid inside the empty tank to get by the MPs. Pretty sure the MP's came by to "visit" the motor pool and party too.
If I may make a suggestion... The most safe and best way to go about storing fuel for dispensing at an air field is to burry big fuel cells similar to those on these two trucks. This would result in less maintenance of the fuel storage and refilling system as you wouldn't have an actual vehicle to maintain. Another plus is not having the possibility of those trucks full of fuel being stolen as I know that trucks like that full of fuel are a hot target due to the value of the fuel and ease of transit. You also wouldn't have to spend money on fuel for the trucks to drive around and it would be a neat feature to have a designated area on site for aircraft to taxi off the runway and to park at the fuel station which can be outfitted with fire suppression and other such things at the fuelling site. This would also eliminate the need for a fire truck and the maintaince that comes with running a third vehicle. I don't know if maybe you could remove those two cells from those trucks and burry them because they may or may not be strong enough to not be crushed by the weight of the dirt or cement you'd burry them with but I'd defiantly look into that option first before considering option two which would be to source the purposely made in-ground cells. After that all you'd need would be fuel pumps and what ever else you'd like to add into this facility. 👊🏻
Why don't you have ol Derrick from Vice Grip Garage come and give it a good once over and possibly get it running for ya. Would love to see the content on here of that happening. Love the channel!
That should be a 370 or a 429, I beleive they belong to the 385 Ford truck engine family. The family derives its 385 name from the 3.85-inch (98 mm) crankshaft stroke
@@travishigley3095 That's not an FT. The staggered exhaust manifold bolt pattern, the thermostat housing standing straight up, and the bolt pattern of those valve covers definitely identify it as a 385 series, not an FT.
As someone who drives a fuel truck on the daily, you need to have Hazmat endorsements. also, you should be fine running those pumps without fuel in the tanks, just dont leave the pump on for 10 mins lol But some decent looking rigs! If i were closer, id swing by with my rig lol
My parents had a water truck company when I was a child. Cleetus and gorge jumping from one tank to the other. Brought back a bunch of great memories. Those trucks can make a bunch of cash. Fill the gas job with race fuel and sell it during race events at the freedom factory. Same with the diesel job, mudding events and truck pulls. It's not as good as selling t shirts but I bet it would make good, returns on the investment. Just need a couple of young guys that want a job. And go after the tickets and permits.
Put the clutch in and stop the transmission, for turn and pull tbe pto, knob out and then put the transmission in neutral, and let clutch out it should not grind, thanks BigAl California.
I've had good luck filling old engines with evapo rust. I just get a 5 gallon bucket. I drain the oil and fill the entire engine, not just the cylinders. I fill those, put the plugs in, the dump the rest down the intake. It's worked for me on boat engines a couple of times.
That’s crazy. Craig Air Center is literally 2 miles from my house. Flown in some 172s and 182s out of there multiple times with friends and have seen that truck plenty of times just sitting before it was sold. Glad to see that old rig will be put back to work.
If that's a 6.6 or 7.8 New Holland in that truck, those engines are legendary. Not powerhouses, but tough as nuts. Edit: will also say that the big block Gasser in that other truck is not necessarily A 429 they also had a 370 on the same block that came in those trucks. Both are low compression dogs lol
You can turn the 7.8L's up a tad reliably. Did one years back and studded the head and cranked the boost up and it ran phenomenal for years with no problems. I wish ford would've found a way to put these in the F2 and F350's back in the late 80s and 90s.
Greetings from a neighbor in Palmetto. When I was in high school/college (mid 90's), I worked line service at a airport. We had Phillips 66 trucks and I think I remember that they had work done by Phillips on the trucks (both Jet A and 100LL). If you need assistance try reaching out to AV Fuel Corporation about service on a the PTO system. One thing I remember is that the 66 trucks had electronic emergency brakes and if it was not engaged the whole PTO system would not function.
Gotta open the belly valve before the pto. Check your piping under the tank, that will rust and fail before the tank itself. It will also need inspection every year, and a five year. That button is probably your hose reel in. Run one every day, also, the gauge George talked about is supposed to have that fluid in it. Get ya a few tanks, one for diesel, gas, and jet fuel. Transport Loads in bulk generally are 8500 gallons, unless you have someone close by that they can do a split load with. Good luck brotha.
Cleetus you can run that truck and fill your air planes up easily!!! Those trucks are super easy to run!!! I do no a guy here in my state that has run those trucks for almost 25 years!!! He delivered propane to different houses that use propane for something in their homes!!! He did that for several years and then and still today delivers fuel to air ports witch they have special rules and you have to have some kind of special permits to be able to deliver to air ports!!!! I also no that they are super happy with his work because he has fuel happy with his work because he will get a load of fuel to the air port with in minuets so that the planes are down for long periods of time!!! Super easy setup buddy!!!
I was on I75 in middle GA yesterday and I saw Mullet on the back of a car hauler. They were heading southbound and I was in the northbound lane but that was my first time seeing Mullet in the flesh. This made my day. I was on my way to a long shift at my second job but this definitely pumped me up.
Wow hope this helps Mullet out glad to see you have a solution for making the shoe box do 5's. what's next for you Cleetus Kitchen Utensils. Seriously that car never had a chance of winning Sick week no matter the engine. But all you're fans who enjoy Drag racing real glad you bought you a beat up old fuel truck. You sir are a serious bummer lately.
aviation fueler here, i work at an international airport driving ramp master and dart fuel trucks. One, engaging your pto dry on a fuel truck will pretty quickly cause a good amount of damage as the jet A is the primary lubricant. Two, that little black button is your over wing hose reel retract button and wont work without the pto engaged thus the click of the solenoid at first. Third, if you have a position for a fueler soon to be open id love to fill the position lol
Get a tank. Either in ground or above. Say 10,000 gallon. Maybe a small tank farm- have diesel, AvGas, Unleaded. Top your fuel trucks off at your tank farm. So long as the vehicles don’t leave the property you won’t have to worry about DOT, CDL drivers etc. but I do implore you to find someone who is local and used these to train your crew. Take the training and be serious about it. ❤
To drive those trucks you’ll need a Class B cdl with tanker certifications and hazmat. You might want to get a bulk tank for the airport and just use the trucks to fill that bulk tank 🤷🏼♂️ but you will also have to talk to your insurance company to see if they will allow that tank to be on property as some insurance companies want nothing to do with them
I'd say the easiest source for a running used motor is to find an old school bus with the Ford FT 391 gas motor like you have here. Whatever you get, it should have the FE bellhousing pattern if you want to reuse the existing transmission. Since it's onsite, if you were to find something like a cast-off 352, 360, or 390 from someone swapping up, it should work just fine.
Is it normal for Jet Fuel trucks to have an exhaust out the hood? Asking for my friend....
Yes, or out the front by the bumper.
Not at all
Normal? No. Safe? Also probably no. 😂
But we're here for it!
It is now 😂😂
Abnormality is the new norm!
My company we only run off road for that reason we have a fuel truck that comes and fills up on site
D.O.T has no say when it doesn't touch the road, county or city might have a say on the bulk tank though.
Exactly this
8 thousand gallons holy crap.....what would that run you if you're buying that much in bulk?

Upvote this. This is exactly right. Everyone saying clutch has never engaged the pto on an older auto truck.
Who the Hell POL
That seems so counter intuitive to put it in drive to engage the pto. But I have never worked on an auto with a pto, so it just sounds wrong to me.
Thank you for your service 🫡
yep, and their black button on airline will be the valve on the tank to let fuel into the pump/hose
This needs to be the top comment so he sees it!
It's what I do now as well as build em💪 gotta love the fuel life🤣

Not a bad idea. He should start by purchasing all the homes being built near the freedom factory. They wont be able to complain then.
I build and work on these in Columbus Ohio at CH Bradshaw. I also do the annual and 5 year DOT inspections on these. shoulda sent him an email
So, on a fire truck, you have to be in neutral to engage the PTO. Would it be same for their fuel truck?
And I wonder if that black button that’s to the top right of the hose reel is to wind the reel back up after you pull it out

@06m50blue all trucks with PTOs have to be in neutral out of gear and clutch pushed in. Hope that helps.
If it's automatic it has to be in neutral not park and the brake set before it will engage the pto.
EDIT:
Also check out FAR139.3201, FAA A/C 150/5230-4C, & FAA 14 CFR 139.321. This is not a comprehensive list, just what I was able to remember off the top of my head.
was going to say something similar to this i fuel aircraft’s for a living & we just had a huge recall on a bunch jet-A fuel filters breaking down & causing filter debris to get into aircraft.
You don’t need to worry about codes. Codes are the antithesis to freedom. This is America pal.
Why are oyu advising to to get help, when he clearly asked for help in the video. smh
I would probably opt to not sell fuel.
Yes you can get into alot of trouble wt fuel esp. LL100 now days!
Do you know if they would need a cleaning certificate? In my experience we needed a cert but that was for new tanks

Cleet, just know there are FAR regulations for owning and operating aviation fuel trucks.
FAR139.321
Permits are state specific.
-Hoses have a shelf/usage life
-Filters need to be changed monthly
-Fuel needs to be tested monthly
-Quality control needs to be documented daily
-required to have a 20BC fire extinguisher on the trust at all times and inspected monthly.

Cleet...On a automatic transmission with Muncie or Chelsea manual cable shift cable you have to be in "Drive" pull the PTO cable to engage the PTO and then back up to Neutral. You'll strip (round off) your engage gears if not done in that order.
This is the correct answer!
They still should have been hazmat certified and cdl operators, but shiesty companies will he sheisty companies
Ya mean the internal valve ?
Deadman switch
The red levers with the cables are the internal valve(s). The internal valves are at the bottom of the tank to keep product in the tank. They don't have anything to do with the pto and pump other than they need to be open before pumping or loading. If I lived closer to Florida I'd come give you a hand. I fabricated tankers for many years.
Maybe he will fly you down for a weekend.
I cannot wait to see the airport develop and thrive. This is awesome. You should give them each a sick polish and paintjob.
Push the clutch in when engaging the PTO. it's making a grinding noise because the transmission is spinning and trying to engage the pto
Except that truck was automatic. So no clutch pedal.
@@kelvinhill9874 I have a 1985 Chevrolet C70 Kodiak with a CAT 3208 and an Allison automatic and it has a clutch pedal for the pto
Put trans in drive, engage PTO then back to neutral. Putting it in drive stops the trans input shaft. More than likely an Allison AT545
Always cracks me up when they try working on any kind of big trucks.
No clutch pedal. Have to put it in gear, engage pto, put in neutral.

Make a fuel trailer of it. Take the cab off and weld a hitch on the frame rails. Tow it with the tractor it already has hydraulic remotes and a PTO.
The draw bar would get attached to the front axel in the centre and connected to the steering linkages. Turns it into a 4 wheel trailer with steering.
We convert old long bed trucks into hay carting trailers here in Australia this way.
Otherwise you have tons of weight loading down on the hitch of whatever you pull it with.
that's exactly what i was thinking.
Now that's a job for Tye. The fella can weld just about anything with JBweld.
Tow it with the running truck

The 100LL truck-Avgas-AKA Liquid Lead-won't have near the issues with storage as does Jet-except it too holds water & must be sumped regularly.

That should be a 370 or a 429, I beleive they belong to the 385 Ford truck engine family. The family derives its 385 name from the 3.85-inch (98 mm) crankshaft stroke
Or it could be a 460, which was a also a 385 series Ford Big Block.
391FT the valve covers ran over onto the intake manifold
@@travishigley3095 That's not an FT. The staggered exhaust manifold bolt pattern, the thermostat housing standing straight up, and the bolt pattern of those valve covers definitely identify it as a 385 series, not an FT.

Pls do rocky mountain always wanted to see cleetr in person sadge
To drive those trucks you’ll need a Class B cdl with tanker certifications and hazmat. You might want to get a bulk tank for the airport and just use the trucks to fill that bulk tank 🤷🏼♂️ but you will also have to talk to your insurance company to see if they will allow that tank to be on property as some insurance companies want nothing to do with them
10:37 George: "I'll be dipped"
Say it two more times and you'll summon VGG Derek 🤣
I'd say the easiest source for a running used motor is to find an old school bus with the Ford FT 391 gas motor like you have here.
Whatever you get, it should have the FE bellhousing pattern if you want to reuse the existing transmission. Since it's onsite, if you were to find something like a cast-off 352, 360, or 390 from someone swapping up, it should work just fine.
