Hi , I love looking at your videos, it gave me alot of information for my Gouldian breeding . I had mine have 2 babies and they got them to about 21 days and they stop taking care of them but I had Societies living with them and they took over the feeding and I even saw my owl finches feeding them too. I think that sometimes it takes a village to raise the Gouldian babies.
Haha that’s awesome that they were able to help. I have heard of that happening quite often in mixed aviaries where other species will feed the chicks.
Good information. I like how you have your outdoor aviary set up. What part or Utah are you in? I know up north it gets cold where as down south it is quite pleasant in the winter months.
Hey, rich. It's Pete from Chicago. I'm having a hard time finding society fences. I can't find them anymore. Petsmart don't sell them anymore. And some other pet shops don't sell them anymore. What's going on? I want to get 2 more and what do you do if you have a sick society?
You could look on Craig’s list and see if there are any local society breeders in your area. If it’s sick you can give it a broad-spectrum antibiotic or contact a local vet.
Might you have any information on breeding two crested societies together? Im interested in doing so although I heard with canaries you can't do this as it interferes with the shape the skull and can be lethal. In talking with a breeder of crested budgies, I was told that you can breed budgies with half circular crests or tuffs together but not two full circular crested budgies. Do you have any idea about breeding two crested societies together? It seams that if you partner a crested with a regular its still hard to get crested. I would love some help if you know about this. Thanks so much!!!
Hi mate you should try mixing them up the pair that has been successful at breeding pair one of them with one of the older brown ones that’s what I used to do to mine it’s worth a try
Hi. Thanks for video. Breeding the Euro society finches (or Japanese one!) has nothing with diets or nest box types at all. Try to swap their mates, if it doesn't work they wont breed anymore! I have had many experiences having societies (usually females do that) reluctant to breed though it's rarely happened.
How about you will incubate gouldians eggs first then after the eggs will hatch from incubator can you introduce the babies to foster society finch will they accept it?
@@gmtrumanandrade6145 I have never tried to incubate the eggs and then place them under the society finches. It can be possible but for this to work your society pair would already need to be sitting on dummy eggs and expecting chicks to hatch at the same time the real eggs hatch. Then you could place them under the society finches and they would most likely accept them.
And onother question. Bro i have more than 10 pairs of zebra and i don't know why but no babys only eggs and thats it no babys i have them for 2 years in breeding cages
I would appreciate it if you can tell me

Hi Chris try adding wheat germ flakes to egg food mix . I find that it helps birds to breed .
Good idea I’ll try it. Thank
You
Hi my friend i have a cuestion how do you put the society on pair or males only??
Both options are possible. Either a pair or trio of males. However, if you would choose pair rather than trio, you may want to sync your birds.
Ok thanks

Great to know I will try that.
Could you make a video about your interest with animals
Yeah
How to tell from male and female socity finches
Males sing females lay eggs. That’s about the only way

I’ve seen people usually doing it, they incubate eggs first before introducing to foster society finch? But my question is. How would you do these?
