Good video lots of handy tips for beginners, & well explained too. If you're struggling with your smaller compressor build yourself an auxiliary air tank from a large empty propane cylinder ( the 95 Litre/47Kg type) I run a 3 Hp 50 Litre compresor with a large aux tank. It gives me the extra air volume I need for my plasma cutter and sandblaster, and for spray painting. It's an easy conversion.
Thanks Pete, good easy info, I’m in nz and have similar unit, I better update my plug amperage to your suggestion … appreciate your time and effort to put these vids together, great work
Thanks again! Just bought a plasma cutter. But its still in the box. I didn't have time to play with it yet. Becouse my compressor is at the construction where i work. But your videos are going to be very helpfull! Have a nice one! Cheers! 😊
@@petestools I live in Hungary and we have a store chain called Lidl. They have a branded plasma cutter wich is called parkside. Basicly is cheap and produced in china. Its a 40 A and uses the cheap consumeables that you like also. So I am planing to use your pilot arc trick also becouse its an hf modell and sometimes i will need to cut painted or rusty metal. So my fingers are crossed that it will work. Ill give you feed Back! Keep it up! Róbert 🇭🇺
Thanks Pete for another great show. I've learned a Lot from yeah. Can yeah'll do a show on Cutting Aluminum? And is it different than cutting steel. Thanks. ( Tabe )🇺🇸
@@petestools nice👍 thank you very much Pete. No one on UA-cam dose a video on how to plasma cut Aluminum. I'll be looking forward to it. Thanks for all your help. 🤣 ( Tabe )
It looks like you put the tip on the work? Mine came with a spring to keep the tip above. If you are not dragging on the work how high are you above it?
Hey Pete, how'z it going. I just got my first plasma, I can't find anywhere to tell me the amount of amps I should use for the material size, and also how fast do I move the torch? It's a 45amp machine. I have just been using it at max amp because I don't know what to set it to. I can't find a guide online or anything. Would be a great subject for a video. How does amps effect the cut? How do I know how fast to travel with the torch while cutting? Thanks Pete
@@petestools thanks mate, I watched it. But the thing I'm struggling with is when to turn the amount up or down. my machine is a digital machine that has a built-in internal regulator and adjusts the airflow according to the set amperage. the issue I'm having is I don't know what amps to set the machine to for different thickness. Do you just run your machine on full amps for everything?
Straight away, the best basic information I've come across. Thanks Mate
That's me mate ,BASIC

Can you use a plasma cutter to cut the web of an I-beam out? Specifically in the corners where the web meets the flange?
sure can
I would think that one of the companies that make plasma cutters would send you a new machine.
They have but i prefer to be independent .
thanks for watching cheers pete
Great video but you need to slow down your speech as it is tricky to follow.
