I have family who live and own a business in Fleetwood. Compared to where they lived before it is wonderfully quiet. I visited a few months back and it definitely feels larger than the population suggests. It’s very stretched out! Felt like an old English town from the eighties. Was sad to see the docks etc all removed. I imagine it was a sight back in the day with all the hustle n bustle.
I used to go sea fishing from Fleetwood many years ago. We had to climb a ladder from the beach to get onto the fishing boat. A friend of mine got a reputation that the only thing he ever caught in Fleetwood was crabs! lol. Great video Stephen and great memories.😄👍👍
5:45 "The unusual and curious building was designed by architects Roger Booth and Eric Morris Hart at Lancashire County Council. Constructed on pillars above the sand in reinforced concrete with a flat roof, the oval building was built for training the coastal craft in radar technology. It has intriguing features such as a triangular porthole window with rounded corners, and an off white and brown paint work colour scheme. It is now managed by Nautical Studies department at Blackpool and the Fylde College." Credit to Jenny C Steele.
Another great video Stephen! 😁 There actually still is a Police Station in Fleetwood. Its located behind the North Euston Hotel. It's a shame you rarely see a 'bobby on the beat' anymore as many neighbourhoods would definitely benefit from them. Take care and keep up the good work!👍
Another great video, hope you're van was ok when you got back to it., very brave to be somewhere, in the dark, when you're probably not as well known there.
Another super interesting and a bit spooky video Stephen. Hope you got back to your van safely. Wish you would take someone with you when you are out in the dark.🙏👀
The KFC's in Fleetwood and Cleveleys were always quite odd. They never were part of most of the promotions (ie you couldn't get the special offers from the app). I'm presuming they were both franchised out. So it's no surprise that one of these has bitten the dust.
Very interesting video Steve, thank you. The lighthouses looked lovely light up. Amazing sky after the sunset. I think the radar is used to measure the level of sand on the beach. There is a radar in Cleveleys, I think on the cafe near Mary's Shell that measures the level of sand, which I have learned from Visit Fylde Coast. I think Blackpool and St Anne's have got them as well. There are some great charity shops in Lord Street and Fleetwood Market is very good. A great place to go on a wet day because it's mostly indoors. And for a fit person, the Lower Lighthouse is not far from the coastal path that will take you all the way back to North Pier in Blackpool. Xxx
That was very atmospheric. The streets almost bereft of pedestrians and very little traffic, either. I still think Cleveleys is more my cup of tea. Thanks, it was enjoyable.
Hi Stephen another great video in the dark. The sun set looks gorgeous. I’ve never been to Fleetwood in the dark. Those roads were really wide. and nobody else about. Take care of yourself walking around in the dark. see you again in your next video ❤️❤️🌙❤️❤️
Great in the dark video Stephen. One brave blogger venturing out in dark. The lighthouse and skies looked stunning must say. And the coming home statue in remembrance. So touching. Like one hammer house horrors whoever carrying one ! Do worry as please take care of yourself doing night walk abouts. These days bad enough in broad daylight isn’t it ? Fleetwood seems have a lot residences and roads like lots live there, but I’ve no idea. Looking forwards to many more. Takecare. Godbless. Di xx
Enjoyed that, can't believe how quiet it was almost like 3 am!! Love those wide streets shame everywhere can't be like that. Evidence of a beer monster?
Job well done Stephen! Fleetwood is soooo quiet at night these days, even at the weekends. The pubs are rarely busy. So not much trouble spilling out onto the street. The worsts place is along the front from the Marine Hall to the boating lake, youths playing up and a few dispersal orders have been issued in recent times. Fleetwood Beach Kiosk, "FBK", near the Lower Light House is run by the same guys that now run the old "Cafe Cove" in Cleveleys - the one you were at the other day where they did that Star Wars filming. They also operate the cafes in Fleetwood and Thornton YMCA sports centers.
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always you are a very brave man walking in the dark i wonder what that bloke with the hammer was about very strange ive been to Fleetwood many times prefer Blackpool though theres more life have a great evening xx
i first went to fleetwood four years a go for a walk a round when i was staying in blackpool for a few days remember most of them places you filmed but was day time tho
Surprised you failed to visit the North Euston Hotel and do a piece on it's long history, One of the oldest hotels in Lancashire, Future video idea maybe, one id like to see for sure
Excellent. But for your videos, we would have no chance of seeing how places look at night, such as Fleetwood and Cleveleys. If we come for a day out, we would be long gone by the time you are doing your videos, and I've only stayed in Blackpool, not the outlying towns. Keep up your unique and great work, please. Thank you!
Please be careful walking those streets on your own I go to bed blackpool all the time and have walked there at night and never felt nervous about it but I certainly would not walk round donny on my own at night I kept worrying that that guy with the hammer would appear again please be safe and thankyou x
Fleetwood looks like another place where feral youths run the show after dark. No police available to deal with them but give one of them a slap and 3 riot vans appear. 😅
I liked the lonely walk in the twilight, eerily atmospheric, all those people in their homes hiding away probably eating the last of the KFC😳😄 or maybe they are all in Spoons getting drunk😆😆
You're more famous than Sid Little now Stephen I really love your night time films Have you got any plans to do some more travelling? How about Snowdonia National Park and Mount Snowdon I went with the school back in 1979 I was 11 we walked up Mnt Snowdon cause you don't really have to climb it The railway was out of commission and the cafe at the top was closed We went in October so the weather was shite It was so damp and misty up there we had no view of anything We did collect loads of quartz though There was tonnes of it everywhere And we were allowed to bring home as much as we could carry The one thing I sadly do remember is that my grandad died whilst I was away He was the 1st one in my lifetime to pass away Now 44 years later I have a brother and 2 aunts left Bloody depressing isn't it lol No sorry I've gone totally off kilter again Here in Cromer it's still busy I saw that someone from here sent you some gifts a week or so ago ii watched your latest unwrapping vid A quid for a burger is that for real? They're too tight round here they'd charge you for eating it as well Anyway hope you do a road trip soon I do enjoy your Blackpool films and surrounding areas as well I'm off to Old Trafford to see my mighty Nottingham forest play Utd Good luck to Blackpool v Lincoln Hey you haven't lost a game yet one win 3 draws that's alright that Mind you you've only scored 2 goals but you've not conceded Thanks for this latest film Hey the Cleveleys at night was brilliant Cheers be lucky from David in Cromer 🌈😎⚽🥅🏐❤️📺

It’s also Wyre Operations Centre, front office is currently open 20 hours a week. 10 till 2 Monday to Friday
used to go out boat fishing every Sunday when i was younger in the 80s in Fleetwood, great times, used to travel from Manchester each week
Lovely image - lighthouse against the sunset background. Looking forward to more walkabouts in Fleetwood.🙂
Thanks Tom.
We were there today Stephen, it looks so different at night. I think we’ll stick to daytime visits.
Another great video, hope you're van was ok when you got back to it., very brave to be somewhere, in the dark, when you're probably not as well known there.

Enjoyed that, can't believe how quiet it was almost like 3 am!! Love those wide streets shame everywhere can't be like that. Evidence of a beer monster?
"Stop! Hammer time" 🎶 . The start of that video was chilling! Enjoyed that walk on the Fleetwood wildside, Stephen👏
Thank you Stephen .👍👍
Gosh, do be careful wandering around in the evening. Loved Fleetwood when I was on holiday

Ahh, FBK. Now it makes sense!
Great Video Enjoyed it
A very atmospheric video. Well done Steve 👏 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Feel 100 times safer walking the streets of Fleetwood than I do in Blackpool.
I felt pretty safe too tbf.
Think we need more late night videos enjoy a little tension. You really only see the real side of anywhere when the lights go down .
Friends of ours checked in the North Euston and was so dissapointed had to change rooms
All the times I have been coming to Blackpool over the years never visited fleetwood only gone as far as cleavleys on the tram lol
The Wetherspoons is the Thomas Drummond and is on London Street.
Great video
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always you are a very brave man walking in the dark i wonder what that bloke with the hammer was about very strange ive been to Fleetwood many times prefer Blackpool though theres more life have a great evening xx
Thanks Wendy x
Sorry Steve ..me again. Fleetwood seems like a lost, forgotten town. Has nice seafront but not much else.
i first went to fleetwood four years a go for a walk a round when i was staying in blackpool for a few days remember most of them places you filmed but was day time tho
Great sunset
Surprised you failed to visit the North Euston Hotel and do a piece on it's long history, One of the oldest hotels in Lancashire, Future video idea maybe, one id like to see for sure

Glad you enjoyed it Jean.

Fleetwood after dark definitely a quiet town even on Saturday night
Ah Stephen, Best Blogger on my Computer, the real BBC
Thanks John.
It's the coastguard station in Fleetwood.
It sounded as though you were wearing heavy boots good job you never had to use them . See you on your next walk on the wild side
How depressing it would be to it would be to live in Fleetwood.....needs lots of money investing into the place.
tell me about it can't move out to escape the place lol
Love Fleetwood I even go out drinking there and survived😂
Stunning photo @4:37 📸 😍
Thank you 🙌
Really good vlog Steven
Trees? In Blackpool?
I saw one, on Corporation St. yesterday.
I spotted that the other week. It's a bit of an odd one.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool Very odd indeed
Maybe do St Anne's aswel and bispon
Got a lytham one coming.
The round building is part of Blackpool and Fylde College for training students on using radar.
Could you do this in the light cheers
No KFC in Blackpool town only one waterloo road grate vidio
What was that green light flashing on the beach
One of the bouys, I think
It's like a haunted place! Its very isolated....
Would love to have a night or two at Euston hotel but I don't have photo ID lol
Please be careful walking those streets on your own I go to bed blackpool all the time and have walked there at night and never felt nervous about it but I certainly would not walk round donny on my own at night I kept worrying that that guy with the hammer would appear again please be safe and thankyou x
Thanks Christine.
who is the guy with the hammer? ive missed this?
@@christineblower6554 what vid is that on?
Fleetwood, the land that time forgot.
It's strange how it ended up taking a back seat to Blackpool, even though it had the railway line years earlier.
The one stop you passed was the only free cash machine we could find on Lord street
HI Stephen
Be careful out there !!!!
Reminds me of Hill Street Blues!
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool that's what I thought after I posted it 🤣

Housing crisis maybe Steven lot of history it's great

I think there are quite a few people with the same idea these days pal.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool I wouldn't blame them.
Just for information, Fleetwood does have a police station
That's a bit dodgy carrier hammers around.
Really not too keen on Fleetwood....the Martket ok ..we like it for Affinaty.
Hello Steven, do you ever get threatened by the beer masters while out and about at night?
Very rarely, though I do try to keep out of their way.
One way street
Leigh doesn't really have proper police station if you want to make enquiries report something you have ring through to Wigan Police Station
No KFC? Maybe time for a Popeyes franchise.
Something even
Fleetwood is hardly a stimulating place to visit …very seedy place and perhaps even more depressing going at night…another Royston Vasey place
Bet loads of catfishing in fleetwood filthy fleetwood
I loved KFC in Fleetwood, this country has gone
