- In this step-by-step SEO case study I'm going to walk you guys through how I took one of my clients from 0 to 30k in monthly organic traffic - without doing any link building.
Here’s some context: These guys had a small app that was successful in the app store but they had no presence on google. They also had a basic wordpress set up that had been up for around a year but had no SEO done on it.
Last but not least, they had been able to naturally acquire a few organic links from the launch of their app a year prior.
In this video I walk you guys through how we found one golden keyword, the content structure that we developed, and how they used this specific example to rinse and repeat this exact structure for other keywords and get to where they are now.

No backlinks - 30,000 traffic
- the new blog post got authority through internal links; got link from home page
- used social media for promotion , twitter Quroa etc
- included relevant Out Bound Links to very excellent authority sites
- Blog post was very long (7000-8000 words!)
- 20-30 headings , Keyword Rich headings
- when writing content for new post make sure to go for 10x 1000% more content as compare to the first ranking post. Make the content 10x Better ; provide better examples, go for more InDepth, show real life case studies etc.
- Focused on Ahrefs Questions keywords while writing content. Finding fresh new relevant questions to include in content.

How do you know when to 10x your competitors' article length and when to stick to Surfer SEO's suggestions based on what is ranking now?

Great question.
First thing i'd say is that it isn't really about focusing on 10xing the length - but more about 10xing the actual content - how can we make it 10 times better: Provide better examples, go more in-depth, show real life case studies, etc.
In terms of content length - It's good to see what surfer recommends to know the ballpark of how much you should write - but if you go over what surfer recommends because you are adding a lot more value then that's totally fine.

When building up outbound links for non-authoritative websites, does it matter if those outbound links are nofollow/dofollow? Does always using nofollow help with avoiding diluting my link juice to outbound domains? Or it actually benefits to put some dofollow outbound links?
Hey! Great comment. For outbound links unless they're some type of promotional/affiliate links you shouldn't have to worry too much about the links being follow/no-follow. If it is relevant to the content that you're creating then i'd recommend leaving them as do-follow.
