Wonderful job Hera, been watching you and your recs for a few months you have gotten a lot funnier and better and explaining your thought process! Thanks
I really like this video. Pro players see win conditions clear through civ match up and early game development, thus make decisions to seized the win in certain time window. In this match up, knowing mass paledin is key for franks to beat mongols, Hera is well aware of the potential downside of throwing knights away for raid, because you are further away from your winning comp. However, players in lower elo, although having some good qualities for winning games (ie. raiding, booming), often failed to see the win conditions for the game. Therefore failed to switch away from the raiding mindset and start preparing mass paledin. Capturing time window is extremely hard for low elo player like me, that is why goth dominate low elo, because everyone auto-pilot, miss the chance, and the better late game civ win.
You (as well as T90, @Hoang, and others) have also inspired me as well sir! I have a similar story to Yukasha and can wholeheartedly relate. I was away from the game for 20+ years and got back into it after one of my students asked me if I’ve ever played Civilization. I said “no have you ever played AoE?” Then I went home and saw the thriving community and re-dled the game and haven’t looked back! Just got my ten games in (1-9, oof) but I’m hoping to keep improving and learning! Thanks!
I know that it's a rec revue for blue, so the focus should on them and their play, but I feel like red's mangudai control should be adressed as well. They were constantly bringing them all back to deal with blue's raids or just standing still on the front door of blue's base attacking houses. I feel like that was impactful enough to be pointed out.
This was a very instructive game. The high level discussion about losing army while damaging economy actually causing your opponent to have an effective all-in was particularly insightful.
Red probably just got tired of the game or had to leave, happens a fair amount around that ELO. I've had people resign with no gg or anything in mid feudal or castle age when they're literally in the middle of pressuring or raiding me.
@@kylemackinnon5696 lol more like Karen Mackinnon. 99% of rec reviews are of someone who lost, the point is to learn from others mistakes, so why would you even care about “spoilers”? Go spectate a live game or something if that’s why you watched this video. Karens will always find SOMETHING to complain about.
high level: if you continue to trade army for eco your trades will get worse and worse as your disadvantage in army grows. minor mistake: if you wanna go raid with knights +1 attack is huge as it allows to kill villagers with 1 hit less and that way is better than +2 defense. when he switches to skrims he is running out ofgold with no more secured. one is in between the castles and the other one is to the side. so thinking trash makes sense, even though it is a losing move military wise.
Normaly i can do an clean dark age in arena or hideout maps specially cause the deer are closer and we are safe, can you talk something about the comparison between open and closed safe maps on that way?
i don't know if you watch rudy ayoub, but your coaching reminds me of arab dad 😅 i feel worried about my mistakes and it's not even my rec! thanks for the content.. learning some important stuff. you explain your rationale well and that makes the lesson that much easier to remember and incorporate
As always: Your coaching vids are SO great. I'm stuck at 1000-1200 as well and feel like the basic concepts are not stressed enough... like I always throw army, have collres 1.5x of my opponent, often more vils, so why don't I win?! This video is the same
it is irrelevant, Blue was in a lost position. you don't get better at the game by taking credit for a win where your opponent disconnects or has IRL things come up at the very end of the game.
I mean no one’s forcing you to like his personality, but it’s not like he’s ever been unfriendly to anyone ever. You can cheer for other players without hating someone else, trust me bro it’s possible. Feel like it’s such a sports thing to feel like you must hate the opponent to fully support who you cheer for. So dumb.
I miss the old Hera analogy "if someone breaks into your house with a gun, you go to his house with your gun because you know he's not home" 111
27 😂
You leave the gun at home to defend your house while you rob his home on offence
LMAO
This metaphore is multi-purpose indeed. Replace "your/his house with a gun" by "your/his mom's bedroom" and it still works
Not so relatable when you're European though...
Wonderful job Hera, been watching you and your recs for a few months you have gotten a lot funnier and better and explaining your thought process! Thanks
12:22 'Boy I hate to be in your house if there's ever a home invasion' lmaooo

comp(osition) not comb(o) :)
@@Gio-iv1vdThank you for correcting me!
Really loving these recent rec reviews Hera! As a low-mid elo Franks main this was particularly fun and informative to watch
I can't tell if Hera's analogies are getting better or worse, but I'm here for them!
to win one must become the overripe banana, but do not become the overread newspaper
22:14 Thank you for the clarification.
😂😂
Ive watched you now a few months or a year or smth and you keep getting better funnier and more carismatic

keep up the snowball, one day it will be big
Super helpful rec review! It's amazing how much important information you can relay in 30 minutes, thank you for doing these!
"I like to go in Raw" - Hera 2024
Crazy statement
Also ball measuring and dubious-plug-talking.
Heraw
Came to the comments looking for this 111

Hera missed that at 36:10 red actually was the one who resigned haha.
Wonder if that's a recording bug?
maybe disconected or something lol
Red dropped, his APM goes to 0
These are so good, informative and entertaining. The one liners are hilarious
Love the commentary! Great mix of insightful and entertaining.
14:20 bro couldnt believe what was on his screen 😂😂😂😂😂😂
If I ever send a video review, I would definitely troll at some point late in the game with a wall of gate 11
man you are not only the premier player but the level of content is just the best there is. education / fun mix is so spot on, great work
22:06 "You're an absolute Savage bro" :D
first hera vid that made me laugh couple times, keep it up brother

Yup, great format. I'll watch more keep them coming ❤
Why did blue win?

Thanks for the spoiler comment really apreciate that popping up under the title youtube

wow one of the best coaching sessions I've seen from you so far this one was very good, lots of wisdom pills
These videos have made me a much better player. They are entertaining and educating. Spot on, Hera, thank you!
gun analogy: chef's kiss
Love this kind of content! As a 1100 elo I learn so much from them. Hera and Tatoh teached me how to play
Thanks so much for those video Hera ! We want more !!
My favorite AOE2 content right now
25:56 new sub alert! Hahaha
Id love to see more of the just straight up high elo ranked 1v1s ❤️ maybe you could make a series of your ranked solo games
This content is really good. This is exactly my elo and it's really helpful.

Hera is master of metaphor! One brown spot on the bananas .... !
No I am.
amazing content. Keep it coming Hera!
Awesome stuff. Gives a learning cav player (me lol) a lot to think about
"Plug the hole"... is Hera Jr on the way or something? Hahaha! Nice vid

The life draining out of Hera's eyes at 25:27 was just too good man 1111
These videos are so helpful, thank you!
I think I needed to see this, thanks Hera

I find these coaching videos inspiring as well, but unlike Yukasha I can't even get past 950 elo. ;_;
You can and you will. There is always a reason, we just sometimes don't see them or don't want to believe they are the root cause for losing games.
You are not alone! I'm with you! 😊
These vids are the best, learning a lot, but also entertaining. And blast furnace wouldve helped ;). GG
11:49 ayo yukasha he is saying you can't protect your family 🤣
“I’d hate to be in your house”. 🤣
That being said, my house is no safer.
love the Coaching videos

The translation to American was top notch. 🇺🇸🤠🦅🏈🗽
He didnt realize red resigned😂

"Don't waste bananas" Hera 2024
The banana analogy made too much sense!
keep making these these are great
Me a Mongol main: Okay so he either just fumbled or he's doing a second rush.
Hera,
I would immediately grab the gun, and hear your voice in my head as I'm doing it.
"you dive to those vills like they owe you money !"
This Liverpool Jersey
These are unbelievably entertaining.
As a former hater of Hera... I gotta say, he's got the best AOE2 commentary on the Internet.
Why the hate, spread some love
I mean no one’s forcing you to like his personality, but it’s not like he’s ever been unfriendly to anyone ever. You can cheer for other players without hating someone else, trust me bro it’s possible.

By Commenting games Hera gave so many useful tips. Wanna more content like this pls
Hold up. If you mess up the lure and the deer tries to go back, can you just block it and it resets??
It run away from vils
the stone gate survived tho...
These Analogies Man 😂
Hera my man, you should make the "Ultimate Hera AoE Analogy Comp" vid. Instant 1k followers, I guarantee you.
loved this video more of these pls
It said that Yukasha won. Mango Nelly resigned!
16:15 spearmen in jail is crazy 💀
Hera is the secret
New sound bite "I havent seen a guy with balls like this in a while"
Blue got up faster than red which is a pretty good start
11:50 this was actually the biggest lesson i took from this video lmao
Hera "get the gun"GL 🤣
Wait, at the end it says Franks won, though :D Did the Mongols guy run out of time or what? :D
Banana analogy was suss ngl
id love to see Hera review a game of mine but he may die from the amount of facepalms
that was hilarious when he wasted his army over and over and over again 😂
"We can fix the Banana"
Jersey T-shirt when?
does franks have paladin?
i thought it was unique unit of georgians
“We can fix the banana” 😅
Wait..Hera did you see who won at the end?
Spoiler in comments
Yukasha wins at the end for some reason?
doesn't really matter, red was in the winning position. maybe he d/c or had to leave, but it was over
Lol yeah that is odd, red probably knew he won and just couldn't be bothered cleaning it up lmao
Imagine blue having like 20 knights together by 30minutes or red building some walls. Was entertaining match tho.
Writes in notes: "fix the banana"... hmmm, i see
Wait, why did Red resign?
11:33 i think he struggering of castle 1st or unit 1st
I love rec reviews
I am new to the game (i played it in my childhood)
can someone say me the name of the maps where hera is always playing/watching on
Thank you guys
My only question is why did Mango resign and Yuka win that game?
My thought is he probably knew he won, and couldn't be bothered cleaning it up. And maybe didn't care to much about increasing Elo
He wants to go in RAW!
Does it cost money to get a rec review cos i wouldnt put it past hera
its a patreon service
@@HeraAgeofEmpires2 ahh
If it wasn't he would have 1000s to do lol
Imho he should play a few rounds as georgians to get the habit of perserving low hp cavelry
WAIT, WHO WON? WHO RESIGNED?? THE MYSTERY IS NOT OVER??? IT SAYS YUKASHA WAS VICTORIOUS???
You diving the vill like they owe you money LOL
GOOD GAME
"we can fix the banana"
but how did Blue win?
How did blue win 😮
amazing
You OWE me 30 stone! 😂
Blue won and lost at same time.
Don’t forget axemen!
We can fix the Banana
