The sound of the double-bass in the wonderful music of Bottesini is surprisingly diverse in timbre. I especially liked Fantasy on 'La sonnambyla'. Great music and virtuoso performance! Thanks!
From the videos I have watched on You Tube Double Bass was used as a second fiddle to orchestras. What a surprise when it is given the centre stage here! Beautiful. Maestro Bottesini also is new to me. Thanks for the wonderful music. "The varieties of religious (musical) experience".
