Our flight to New York this evening begins airside at St Louis' Lambert Airport. We make our way to the gate and board our aircraft in typical Southwest fashion. Once we're onboard we find a seat towards the rear and settle down for our flight.
After a lengthy taxi we takeoff from St Louis and head east towards New York. We're served drinks and snacks amid some wonderful service from the Southwest crew. We commence our descent towards New York LaGuardia Airport in a beautiful sunset, emerging from the clouds at 1200ft for a great view of the New York suburbs and Manhattan in the distance, as we make a landing at LaGuardia Airport on schedule. We disembark and walk through the terminal, emerging onto the taxi rank outside LaGuardia Airport.

It's nice when the captain or co-pilot come on the loudspeaker system and say a few words to the passengers, just helps to make the experience all the more human.

TWA was once the big hub airline of St.Louis, and was my family's (and much of America's) favorite airline of the 1980s. My grandparents lived in England, we'd usually fly on a TWA 727 from Kansas City (our hometown) to St. Louis. And I remember that it was usually a TWA 747 from St. Louis to London, and more often an L1011 returning from London to St. Louis (both aircrafts were very similar wide-bodied aircrafts, except the L1011 had no second level up front. The rest was the same, the meals, the movies (back in the days when economy had no small screens in the seats in front of us, just one large screen for everyone), but I was a kid then and I loved it anyways). I also remember flying a TWA 727 from KC to Orlando (via St. Louis) when we went to Disney world. Went to Washington DC once, direct flight, TWA 727. And we flew a 727 to visit family in Philadelphia, direct from KC to Philly, except on USAir. And once to Miami and then to Puerto Rico, on Eastern (if I recall, a 727 KC to Miami, and then an L1011 Miami to San Juan). TWA was our favorite, though. I still remember how nice the service was, the flight attendants being so welcoming, giving us those little flight pins, giving my sister and I extra desserts with our dinner, and having us see the cockpit and meeting the captain. Flying was once a very fun experience for me when I was a kid back in the 1980s

I am not crazy about the current LaGuardia terminal, but one thing I like is the closeness to the Upper West side of NYC. I can take the M60 bus for $3 or so all the way to Broadway and 106th st, then walk a few blocks to the HI New York Hostel at 103rd and Amsterdam Ave. Will be doing this on April 2nd after two Southwest flights cross country, San Fran to St. Louis, then St. Louis to New York.

@@noelphilips, do you remember back in the 1980s when TWA was the hub airline at St. Louis? There were TWA 727s and L1011s everywhere (TWA's most common aircrafts). TWA was the most popular airline in America next to United back then. TWA had the best service from the flight attendants too, I remember. I was a kid, but I remember how nice and welcoming the flight attendants treated me, my sister, and my parents, they gave us these little airplane pins to put on our shirts, gave my sister and me an extra brownie to go with our dinner, and let us see the cockpit and meet the captain. We lived in Kansas City, and my grandparents lived in the UK. I remember the short 35 minute flight from KC to St. Louis, a 727, and then a 747 from St. Louis to London. It was part of the fun of vacation back then, unlike now where flying is more of the pain part of vacations. TWA was a great airline

Good video and very smooth landing. Flew into la guardia in June from Chicago and upon landing it felt like the pilot slammed the plane into the ground. 😱😱
been there done that, one time pilot shuts down engine about 20k feet for a complete engine off landing. I know the pilot was doing this kind of as a joke. Most on the place were probably told what he was doing and some who were flyers were like wtf. I was a flyer and thought he is either training someone or there is something really wrong. and airline is not supposed to have passengers on during training.

i honestly love the 737 ng cabin, really only reason i operate only 737 within roblox its amazing, and its design has a place in my heart

I wanted to hear the sound when the gate person scans the boarding ticket, but great video, i also bet your ears got clogled or whatever its called, every time i fly it gets clogled when i get off, hurts like crazy during take off and landing

Yeah a Month and Half Ago I noticed this Video Before UA-cam took you down. I was planning to watch this when I was ready. Then That's when I noticed Last Month UA-cam Took You Down. From Twitter. I was on Twitter and Twittered you than about it. And Glad your Stuff is Back. Now I felt like watching this even though it is a Month and a Half Later. So? That also gets me what UA-cam Does. I noticed while Boarding & UN-Boarding there was No Sound or Volume. Looking down at those Clouds is Awesome (I Like the Labyrinth of Clouds Aircraft's go through) Like another Wonder World in the Sky's. Or like an Archipelago of Wonder. (I'm Not a Sun or Clear Sky's Person) But I do like Ambient Low Lighting

I did this very flight back in the 1970sand back then, it was on TWA.
Anyhow, I have to make up for the lost hour going from CT to ET.
Next time do yourself a favor, skip LaGuardia. It’s the worst airport we have in the NYC metro area.

Who else thought that the taxi to takeoff itself was super fast even without the video being sped up ? :)
There are certain airports that have certain designated high speed taxiways. LAS, PHX, and STL have these and usually they don't have long lines to take off unlike EWR, JFK or LGA that might have 15 or 20 in line to take off

Landing at LGA always feels surreal because the plane gets so close to buildings and the highway before it touches down. I wonder how people live in those apartment buildings with airplanes flying literally feet from their roofs 2 dozen times a day.

This has to be the longest taxi to the runway in the world. Way too long.
Randy have you flown out of Denver and departed on the outlying runways? THAT is a long taxi.
Trust me there are much longer taxi lengths. Denver and Orlando's most outer runways can be upwards of 10-15 minutes. Amsterdam has one runway (the Polderbaan) that's so far out that it requires its own tower, takes about 20+ minutes to taxi out.
