Great video!! The Devils house in front of central park is two blocks away from where my parents live, I can’t believe I’ve never noticed it after all these years. I went to Whittier high which is down the street from there, that’s where they filmed the high school scenes in the 1st Back to the future (1985)
That final house is also the same house they used for the famous Trunchbull House in the film Matilda with Danny Devito and Mara Wilson. Interiors were done on a stage set
The House used for Scream, Hocus Pocus and Catch me if you can, was also used for the Movie Matilda. It was Ms.Honey's house that principal Trunchbull stold from her when her dad passed away. So crazy.
Now that you live in CA, you can do the Scream movie house experience if they bring it back this coming year from covid!! That and hocus pocus are the go-tos for me. So glad to see the locations from the west coast part of filming it rather than just MA sites
Right? We had two out on the street side of our house and you NEVER want to park your car underneath one when they're in bloom! It's not so much the millions of purple flowers that can pile up on the car or all over the windshield, it's that HORRIBLE sticky nectar! You have to use HOT, HOT soapy water to cut through it because it can really be hard to see out the front windshield and especially at night!
Really enjoy the way you show parts of the old movies, and bring them back to life in the present day. To see the changes to the landscape, keep up the good work. All the best.
That was Fab, thank you. I grew up in Whittier before I moved back to England in 1984 but knew some of Hocus Pocus was filmed in Whittier, just didn't know where. The trees are called Jacaranda trees, they are gorgeous, we had 4 of them in our yard.
I always wondered what streets these scenes were filmed on and could never trak any information down, so I was especially happy to see this video from you guys pop up! Great job as always
I seen Hocus Pocus at Arrowhead Mall in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Muskogee, Oklahoma is where Country Music Legend, Merle Haggard is from, and is twenty something miles from my hometown Gore, Oklahoma. I love the movie Hocus Pocus. It's really great. It's great like a tiger. Thanks Grimm Life Collective for the awesome upload. Love and light from Gore, Oklahoma. WWJD ✝
I always watch you 2 all year but getting closer to Halloween I always go back to the Halloween stuff you 2 did helps get the grove going Thank you and HAPPY HALLOWEEN
So good to see all of those places still fresh and standing! I thought the entire movie had been shot in Salem. If you read this, please, visit the filming locations to Stephen King´s Rose Red, including Thornewood Castle, (Rose Red itself) in Washington, not too far from there. Cheers!
Omg yes! I live in Whittier and 10 minutes away from devils house and those house are so beautiful in person! Also the disturbia movie was filmed in Whittier and isn’t that far from that location, check it out. The location and house itself is so nice😬 Awesome video!
Always enjoy watching your videos especially when you upload right before I go to work hahah nice way to start the day, thank you!!! Hocus Pocus has always been one of my favorite movies 💞
Purple trees look like it could be Jacaranda ( well that's what they are known here in Australia), thanks for all the hard work in researching all the movie locations and creating the content, it has kept me sane during the past years with Sydney having on and off lockdown periods.
Imagine waking up and looking out your window and you see Jess running amuck amuck amuck lol, it would make my day I'd go out and join her lol !! Ty guys another great video 🎃🦴🎃 !!
Great video as always. I enjoy watching and seeing the things that I may never get to see for myself. If I'm not mistaken part of Hocus Pocus was filmed in the same studio sets (WB I think) where friends was filmed even the iconic friends fountain
omg. I'm a total Hocus Pocus nut. I have all the funko pops, along with an extra Billy Butcherson that I'm going to send you. I even dressed up at Winnifred for Halloween 4 yrs ago. Once again thumbs up for an excellent job done on this movie location. Love love love your work.
Lol she's funny and cute......and yay fence yard😃 cool.. finally get see one. Cool vid man. _Hocus Pocus_ was always a movie I never get tired watching
Doing all the best movies! Count on Grimm life for the best content!P.S. What a great time saturday night in the chat! Haven't laughed like that in a long time😂😂😂❤❤
I live in whittier and went to the middle school. The class room scene was not where you showed, but on the other side of school were there is another courtyard with the arches that can be seen. I actually had my music class in the exact classroom they used for filming 😊
Oh my ….. one of my absolute favorite movies!!! I wish I was there right now with Jessica, flying on my broom & as Winifred said to Sarah “in the back dancing idiotically “ thank you both soooo very much!!! 🤗 😘
Always wonder if it's less fun acting in a movie that goes back and forth between LA and another main location. Like if all the sets were in Salem, you'd be filming in the same general weather and vibe, with locals you might see every day. Maybe it doesn't matter at all, but I'm curious.
I too love this again... thank you for this... Never thought was done in L.A... Also... Amok..... Amok, Amok, Amok, Amok.. bang, eahhh!!!! It's fun when people decorate for Halloween.... makes more fun... and not just for one night since I love Halloween....!!!
Great vlog! Those purple trees are Jacaranda trees, I love them. I was born and raised in Orange County, pretty much every property I have lived at had one in the yard.
I grew up in Whittier and attended East Whittier Middle School a few years before the movie came out. I've seen another post where the classroom may have been the music room, but it looks very much like the classroom where I had calligraphy class in 7th grade. I knew that this movie was filmed in Whittier but never knew where. Masters Of The Universe with Dolph Lundgren and Back To The Future were filmed in town, too.
Just watched Hocus Pocus to visit the filming locations you vlogged about in Whittier. So cool! I live in LA but have friends that live nearby these places. :) MacArthur's Park HP filming location was also used for the outside steps of When Harry Met Sally - Billy Crystal runs up and inside the steps (in NYC, not) after realizing he wants to spend the rest of his life with Sally. Great filming location info. Thank you.
Like your channel. The director (Kenny Ortega) went to my Jr. High a couple yrs. b4 me. Hoover in Redwood City CA . He started with the band The Tubes. I knew the late Buzzy LInhart , he wrote Friends for B. Midler. WMWM 91.7 Salem is a good station for anybody's list. I could be wrong, but I heard Danvers MA which used to be called Salem Village is where most stuff really happened. Salem is still a great place to visit.
Location scouting for our movie Nightfall Amusement Park and I really studying off the Grimm collective because of the now extensive collection of insightful behind locations info through these years watching.
Love your stuff guys. I only found you're channel at the weekend and I loved the lost boys filming location video and Fog. And the episode with Tom Savine, he seemed so cool and such a nice guy. Those 3 have got me hooked. Much love from Ireland . I would love to get the chance to visit some of the locations you have both been. Keep up the awesome work
I’m the little angel that says “bless you” lots of memories standing in the walkway waiting for my que!
Awesome!
Cool
Did anyone ever try to contact you to be in Hocus pocus 2? Or did you quit acting a long time ago?
@darkstrifequeen1458 absolutely! Definitely an experience to remember!
Ah when the witches screamed at you I always find that part hilarious 😂
Great video!! The Devils house in front of central park is two blocks away from where my parents live, I can’t believe I’ve never noticed it after all these years. Baby ghoul Jessica is the best thing to ever happen to Grim Life Collective, you both make a great team couple in all your documenteries 💯🤜🏻🤛🏼😎
I love Hocus Pocus Halloween season wouldn’t be complete without seeing the movie
That devil in slow motion looked really scary. 😈 🎃👻🕷🕸
I ADORE this movie! 😍 can’t wait for the sequel
The last house was also used in the movie "The Midnight Hour" (1985), representing the house of Melissa Cavender (Shari Belafonte Harper).
I love that movie!
That house at the end was also used in Matilda, it's crazy how different they can make one building seem in all of these movies.
I didn't know til I was an adult the square used in Back To The Future was the same place used in Gremlins, on the Universal lot.
The purple blossoms are jacaranda and they'll be gone by mid June. Jacrandas are a beautiful tree in somebody else's yard.
A lot of those trees in Santa Monica on San Vincente .
The last house was also used as an interior and exterior for the Halloween set TV movie, THE MIDNIGHT HOUR.
Really enjoy the way you show parts of the old movies, and bring them back to life in the present day. To see the changes to the landscape, keep up the good work. All the best.
The Macarthur building is now on the historic registry and currently being restored.

I live in Massachusetts and go to the Salem Locations a lot !, also part two is supposed to start filming soon here

Haha. Jessica is so silly. Puts a smile on my face.

Homeowner looks at their Ring Doorbell footage from today and scratches their head...
I can’t wait for the second Hocus Pocus film next year! It’s such an iconic Halloween film 🎃
Love the detail - theres loads of HP filming location videos but they dont go into the detail like you do
I always wondered what streets these scenes were filmed on and could never trak any information down, so I was especially happy to see this video from you guys pop up! Great job as always

Always enjoy watching your videos especially when you upload right before I go to work hahah nice way to start the day, thank you!!! Hocus Pocus has always been one of my favorite movies 💞
Love hocus pocus, it isn’t Halloween unless I watch it. Isn’t the house at the end also the house from a Matilda? 🤔 love your videos ❤️
It is indeed
The house you show at the end was also the same house used in the movie “VHS”. The very last story of the movie. Great channel!
Thanks for taking us along with you
Great video! Posted on Doug Jones' birthday, too. He played Billy Butcherson in _Hocus Pocus._
Love Doug Jones!!
Those purple trees are Jacarandas and I agree, totally gorgeous!
