It was a beautiful July day when the Players met for a Sunday ride. Jason, the mysterious fellow from the "internet", makes his first appearance. We hit one of our favorite trails, the Scotch road, outside of Montreal. After a little sandpit fun including a pretty deep mud hole we head off in search of real water. We find it! Chris stalls out his BMW when the water gets a little too deep. Henrik drops the DR and it is totally submerged. Due to our amazing mechanical skills and blind luck we get all the bikes running only to find more water. After a little pulling on the famous "douche" rope we finally find dry land and head home. I hope this video shows that the brand and size of bike is somewhat irrelevant. Don't get hung up on the reviews and specs. Buy a bike and get out there with your buddies!
This video was shot using a couple of GoPro Hero HD cameras and a Sony HD camcorder. Love that GoPro! - Авто та транспорт
I used to do a lot of MTB as well. Just bought a 29er after almost 20 years of no riding. Hard work!
Welcome, Jason! :)
THanks. We have a few folks watching from NL.
I used to own the 1150 and sold it to Joe and bought an F800. I really like it. Much better in the dirt for me. Very snappy motor. Lighter. I even find it pulls from low rpms better. The 1150 is pretty clunky in alot of ways. The 1200GS is much more refined.
The mighty DR always survives!
Aaaaahhhh
The Scotch Road..... Gotta love it :)
Great video. :)
Thanks to guys like you, Danmoto and the other mud lovers i ll be buying me enduro as second bike for next spring. :p
Real nice, very entertaining. I'm glad you keep finding the time to do these. Greetings from Portugal
fantastic video man , Henrik makes D.R. owners proud although i think the poor guy needs a trials bike so he can tough ground .
love the shout outs man :-)
thanks
Good to see you return! Welcome back!
Haven't spent a penny except for the little plastic piece that your boot rubs on the left side. The Adventure Spec crash bars, MOD skidplate, BMW handguards and SW Motech rear raks have kept all my bits safe. Chris flipped his HP2 and bent a mirror. I had a front tire blowout on the highway and the bike slid 30 feet plus on asphalt and the only thing that got scratched on the bike was the old scratch marks on the guards. My personal equipment didn't fare as well!
That would jinx it for sure!
Defo, I am too from NL and love to see your vids! Excellent!
Brillant! As always. Never seen Hendrik more exhaustet. The mighty DR just needs a strong guy *lol* Keep on doing vids Riley *thumbs up*
Cheers Steve
Thanks for the great vids, keep em coming....
I here ya. I'm less and less interested in freezing my butt off these days. I must be getting wiser....
You people really need boats not bikes :-D I really enjoy watching your adventures, keepp them coming, they make winter shorter :-D
more more more i want more lol great vid's keep them comein and lot's of 'em
Thanks!
Go Mighty DR!!!! All that water in the filter and it turns over no problem.....:-P
great video.
looks like a lot of fun.
As far as wine goes I can safely say that Joe is VERY Portuguese!
Joe (Jose) is our Portuguese member and he says he will be riding with us more next summer. We will have to get him to speak a little Portuguese!
Maybe Santa will read my list this year!
Another great video, keep em coming!
Great video guys !
another great video, congratulations !
great vid, keep them coming!!
Thanks for the nice words. Vermont is my favourite state, at least in the summer. If you ever head up this way let us know.
Thanks for the tip. I'll pass that on.
Cheers.
Thank you.. keep it up!
I'm a bit surprised by the trouble shouting of the mighty DR compared to the more complicated BMW Its amazing how much the Europeans have improved the reliability on their bikes
You guys sure know how to have fun! I really envy you to have such a fine group fellow riders to enjoy your adventures with. I wish I still lived in Vermont so I could ride up to meet you all and have my f800 christened by the "Douche Rope" FLorida would be too far...Thanks for sharing the awesome vids. Your guys are hilarious!
More videos coming soon!
I really like how the 29er rolls over obstacles. Love the hydraulic brakes. Hate how it is under powered.....
Only got out a few times but have high hopes for next year.
Either one will be fun. The DR is simpler and must cost less.
i REALY LIKE YOUR VIDEOS A LOTT.
The Sertao will be a very nice bike. Send us some video when you get it.
thats deeeeep !, really nice vids guys
Lets meet halfway! Hmmm..looks like that is the middle of the North Atlantic...
That is odd. I've never had that problem and I've done quite a bit of deep water. I read a lot of the F800 forums on the web and have never heard of that problem before. Hopefully moving the hose has solved it.
Winter! Don't say winter yet....
Another awesome trail season! =)
We need video of that!
Hey motoriley
Tell Henrik to check the float height in the carb on the DR, My father had the exact same problem with his DR650.
awesome video :D my dad has got an 1150 gs and i've got a dirt bike. I really like you're video's because you're going to hell and back with these awesome bikes :). Greetz from Holland!
put ur sticker on.went off road. broke bike. how fun lol
great video as usual !!!
it would be so much fun to ride with you guys =D
Ran out of room so this is part 2. If you want your bike to stay pristine you can't really venture onto the dirt. If you have a spectacular crash at high speed it will be ugly and costly. The low speed drops we have all the time don't do much. Once I stopped worrying about cosmetics I started to really enjoy my bike. I'm sure you will as well. See part 1 of my response below.
4000$ gets you a really nice DR650 here. I don't think you will find the DR650 a lot better on the highway than a DRZ400. It will be better but just a little.
Anytime I help someone spend money I feel good!
We are near Montreal.
I know you ride in very low temperatures with heated gear (watched all your videos), but for me winter starts as soon the temperatiures reach 10 degrees celsious midday :-D
Awesome video...hence the name '-'
hell yeaaa
I've always wanted to see whats past those water crossings behind the sand pit but never wanted to get that soggy, I really wish that video was longer!! I'll just have to suck it up and get a little wet next time. You guys really need to upgrade that douche rope to a douche strap, it just looks really dainty. Awesome video!
The mighty Douche Rope has a 1200lb breaking strength so plenty for two guys pulling. We have been through that water many times. We tend to avoid water more often these days as we got sick of buying wheel bearings by the case! I can now change all 5 on the F800 in under an hour.
you have good trial poor dr
Not sure why he was so tired. We were pulling and all he had to do was steer!
We have some members in Amsterdam!
Only risky if you pull a "Henrik"!
To be fair Henrik's DRs have all been bought used and were perhaps not that well cared for. As soon as a carb is left to gunk up you will have problems. The fuel injected bikes always seem to start. Of course it could be that Henrik keeps submerging the Mighty DR...
save those silica bags(bags with granular substance inside labeled Don't Eat!) that some things ship with. Place them in go-pro case no more fogging. If there to big just open them and sprinkle the silica wherever it will fit around the camera.
Thanks for the tip. I was wondering how to use those bags.
Hi, Nice Video.
I have a f800gs too. When I first crossed a river, after a few minutes my engine stopped and I could not start it again. After long research I found out there was a lot of water in the gas tank, none in the airfilter. Did this ever happen to you? It probably entered through the hose witch lets air in the tank.... I moved the hose upwards under the seat.
Any Ideas?
where are you guys located in canada? you mentioned "headed over to the Quebec side? are you near the atlantic provinces?
thanks friend ı should go on to make money for sertoa lol . ı have watched all your videos. really you are very lucky
yes 2. hand dr is 400 usd sertao is 13000 usd in turkey.ı have drz and xt 350 sometime ı m very bored on highway
do any other members of the awesome players offroad mc club have youtube channels or is it just you riley?
Just me so far! Although there is a group in Amsterdam and a group in Germany setting up pages. We are going worldwide!
Swapped the 1150GS for the f800gs? Is he happy with the change?
how much did you pay for damages on that f800. I ride the same bike but im a bit afraid to take it off road, Used to ride an africa twin a bit off road but not as near as you guys do. But dropping the bike once costs easily a three digit damage
Theres no way I would ride through deep water like that. Im sure my bike could handle it, but its too risky.
Guys... did you not once before pull a bike out of that exact same puddle with the gear NOT in neutral? :D
Wa backcountry trail
6:22 - OMG, that was a very flaccid 'giveeeer' :-\
very nice but heavy from dr ı saw a dr 2004 and 20000 km then my mind is confused now . dr is very simple
Henrik is married, works in IT and has DR. He is officially abused!
Depending on how portuguese he is, a wine bottle should do the trick.
dr is perfect bike but there is no new dr in turkey.thats why ll buy serteo
We are not the smartest bunch.....
sorry 4000 usd
