Tanner mentions being a Locksmith Hoarder. I've worked for 3 different Locksmith companies over the years and i feel like being a locksmith and a hoarder go hand in hand. Part of being a #Lockboss
ive been working as a locksmith for 13 years have worked for 2 companies and yes they hoard ! i just have 1 huge pack out organizer and when that's full i start throwing lol !!! i save special screws and set screws , or any mortise lock !!
Great set up. The idea of dumpster diving for materials for set up is great. The set up you have looks nicely efficient. Having access to most used items at the door is a good way to access stuff rather than having to open the back of some other vans up. Good to see a functional workspace where items can be found easily, I wish my locklab was as organized! I liked the #LockBoss sticker on the side of the van. Thanks for sharing, cheers
I just bought a Clean Slate today to set up (2008 Chevy Express van) . I have set up at least 5 vans from scratch in the past. Most had Adrian Steel furniture and even if they did it was in the wrong places. I like a plywood floor, black mat is the worst if you drop a Kwikset clip or anything else, can't roll a wheeled stool on rubber mat. I really like the Peg Board in your van, makes a great look and easy place to attach tools.
Hey it's Ace! So happy to see you took these videos to the next level and you guys still rocking it. Learned so much from you all and still practice lockpicking. Wish you all the best. Also hi Tanner van looks awesome!
Over the years I've learned that service trucks get damaged and you can go to a junkyard and buy those cabinets for almost nothing work benches and so the last three vans that's what I've done and if you're creative enough you can use wood and make it how you want there's a lot of nice beautiful vans inside but it cost them a fortune I want the money in my guys and my pocket not just for new equipment to set up the van meaning shelves and work benches PJ and tanner did a great job
Lol you can tell he's proud of that sub he mentioned it twice. I can't believe he based his reasoning for not having a center console on not wanting to climb over it but he is willing to climb over that thing.
Excellent job Tanner , just goes to show you don't need to spend a fortune to have a nice set up.I would have never guessed that it only took a Hundred Dollars to set that up.#LockBoss
Part of being a #lockboss is being adaptable to many types of situations. Make your van your own. I started with wood cabinets. They got me by and gave a lot of counter space. After some time I upgraded my cabinets. Ive now got metal cabinets, a dedicated bench. I also keep a lot of things easily accessible. I'd be willing to do a walk thru of my van, the pros and cons of the layout and such if you're interested. Nice setup Tanner!
Heh, an MTX subwoofer wasn't what I expected to see, but that's a nice addition. :) Very cool van setup for a #lockboss ! "If this van's rockin', we're probably unlockin'"
Very Cool Guy's. I will be setting up my Van in January. Your van will be a great template Tanner! This may be a dummy question but I didn't see a Laser key cut machine? What do you do there? #lockboss in training
Cool tour. I suspect your running 110VAC off an inverter. I love how you did your pinning matt on a lid storing your followers and other odds and sods. I would always be worried about needing something from under the pinning matt once you have a lock pulled apart. 🌵🇨🇦#LockBoss🇨🇦🌵 Fun Bloopers, Yes PJ We can see you.
Impressive work. Loved how organized everything looks. No clutter or extraneous equipment. Notice you had two pinning kits. What is the Speciality kit? SFIC? A true #lockboss
Hi guys, I'm a budding auto locksmith and seeing someone like Tanner and his van setup is inspiring. i don't have one but i love he puts things into perspective.#LOCKBOSS
Thanks Tanner & PJ! I've watched a lit of videos on locksmith van layouts. I'm going full mobile. Tanner, if you didn't have parking garages, would you prefer a tall van? Thanks again! #lockboss
I’ve seen both ends: completely home-built (mine) and completely third-party outfitted. As long as they are an extension of how you work and you can adapt to make your work more efficient, then you’re hitting a home run!! #Lockboss
That is an awesome setup! Than you for the useful video, PJ In my setup journey, I got a shelf unit from a wrecked plumbing van. I banged the dents out, painted it and ended up with nice shelves. I don’t have a lot of space in my NV200, but I’m working my set up little by little. Cause...that’s what a #LockBoss would do!
Think about gas when purchasing a vehicle. I actually went from a 2013 e150 van down to a Chevy Colorado truck with a high camper about 5 years ago. I went from filling up every other day $80 to $40 a day maybe every 3 days now. I was able to install my ITL950c, SEC E9 and Silca duplicator very comfortable. I had to get creative on what I use daily. Obviously I don’t have the same space as a van to store everything. But 99% of the time I have what’s needed to complete the jobs. And the rest i can easily grab from the garage. #lockboss
Love the way Tanner set the van up. Really like that he did it cheap. Thought the bloopers was cool. Gives you an idea of what really goes into making all your great videos. #Lockboss
Interesting setup Tanner, I too have a Ram Promaster. I have the 3500 high roof extended version of yours. I wished I had only spent $100 to setup mine, I like your setup PJ has seen my setup and i think my setup is pretty nice too. I’m a clean freak so my van is always clean too, I like the sub woofer idea. Has a mobile locksmith we are always on the road so music is very very important. I’ve had my van for 3 years and just last year i put up a partition because I was afraid for something to fly and hit me in te head or windshield in an accident or even braking too fast or too hard. I know you like being able to through and checking if you have something for the next job. I do too but I walk the entire van to do so now. I also added the side steps to get in and out of the driver side and the sliding door. It may not be super tall to get in and out but after awhile it gets tiring. Maybe I can send pictures of my van if you like to see how I have mine setup. Unlike you I don’t do everything you do, I don’t make car keys, work on safes or access control. I mostly do residential and light commercial, I deal with a lot of property management companies so most of the work I do I installing new deadbolts, repairing locks, rekeying, master rekeying, evictions and lockouts stuff like that. So my setup will most definitely everything way different than yours. But it’s always awesome for me to see how another #LockBoss sets up their van because It gives me ideas that I can implement on my van so thank you. Also I’m thinking of moving to Iowa and finally leave California, but it does snow 4.5 months out of the year any tips on how to prep or drive in the snow. Like what should I expect I know our vans are front wheel drive but like you said all the weight in the back doesn’t help. I currently have BF Goodrich KO2 on van (Vanessa aka Big booty Nessa) so that helps me out in the gravel roads. Anyways any advice would help Thanks Tanner and PJ
Hey! Those are awesome additions It sounds like you have a nice set-up! We would love to see your van. Post on either Facebook or Instagram and tag us! We would love to see them and share! - Kylie
Lol the dirty dodge!!! Love it. Very nice, simple and efficient setup. Most importantly fits his needs. I agree with Tanner, he needs some tint around the truck. #Lockboss
Great video, would be great to see how the electrical components are configured. How is everything connected to deliver power to machines, lights, charging... and what are you guys using the bench grinder for? 🙂👍
Love seeing this, thanks for doing this video PJ and thanks Tanner for the detailed tour, much appreciated. And congratulations on outfitting it for around $100 by being frugal and clever like a #lockboss
I just bought the mini me version of that van lol!! Awesome video been trying to brain storm ideas on how to set up my rig! There's no way I'm standing up in mine🤣!!!! Thanks for some tips and tricks fellas! Keep on rocking them out brother! 🤘👍🔐 #LockBoss
What kinda power supply system are you using to run your machines etc? My current cargo van uses a 2500 watt inverter off the main vehicle battery/ alternator but my Stepvan will have 3000 watt inverter with its own marine deep cycle battery and a solar panel and charge controller to keep it topped off as well as a dc to dc controller to run off my alternator when the battery gets low and needs charged quicker... #lockboss
Very nice. I'll have to come back to this video in the future if I ever set up a van. I'm a college student who started doing locksmithing on the side for my dad and I really enjoy it. #LOCKBOSS
That’s badass 🤘💪 I am all about a work van or truck because that’s is our money maker.love how u was creative about how u put it together.my battle wagon is set up for maintenance and all the above I am constantly changing things around to make it more efficient. Great job Tanner #lockboss
Thank you Tanner and PJ for another GREAT Video. Love the Organization and Purposefulness of your Dirty Dodge. This #LockBoss has learned well watching this.
I really appreciate your explanation of how you set up your van because I am getting ready to do the same but I did need some clarification on your comment about the keys hanging on the peg-board to the right of the pin kit. You referred to them as “set-up” keys. Could you clarify what that means. You said that they were kwikset, Schlage, Yale and some Weiser keys. Thanks
That's an awesome #LockBoss van set up. I like it, its not too crowded. Very organized. Thank you Kidlock for showing off your van. Getting idea on how to set up a van in the future. Currently don't have a van. I work out of my VW Passat car. Thanks again.

This is a great van video! Love the sentiment of having the van start to make some money before worrying about getting it all setup. I'm a #lockboss dreamer

Cool set up! My cargo van is a convenient mess. I’m in the middle of setting up a 74 GMC Stepvan right now. My plan is to make it so the main locksmith stuff can be in a job box and roll out so I can use the Stepvan as a recreational/ kayak hauling vehicle. #lockboss
#LockBoss Tanner, PJ, this video is just what I was looking for! We're going to get a van sometime early 2021, so I've been looking at different ideas for a set up. This video answered so many questions I had. It even got creative, thinking juices flowing! Thank you guys so much.
Hey Tanner awesome set up, everything where you can get at it quickly. I don't think your cheap, I think you're a true #Lockboss that recognizes the need to be frugal. Make money instead of spending it all on the latest and greatest. Way to go.

I like it quite to brother! That sub woofer is sick 🤘 thanks for tips!!
Thanks for sharing Tanner. That's a pretty awesome setup.
Do you have a “shop” space as well or do you do most everything out of the van?
