Seriously dude- he’s my favorite guitarist, and when I saw this landed without me knowing literally ran to my computer and pedal board to upload the alex Lifeson pack- ran it with cab features off into a Dr z combo- and my jaw hit the floor. I’ve been chasing this tone for so long, it’s so influential to me- and bam- there it is. Modern times are insane.
I scrimped and saved for A5 MAX and TONEX MAX, finally, and when I pick up the Lifeson Legacy TONEX Signature Collection, my rig will plug into it and never leave it again. Good job, all. Much appreciated.
Finally, the 4140! Bless you, IK Multimedia. Had hoped this would be included in TONEX Max since I spent the extra for everything but I'm grateful to have it at all. Please also consider modeling the GK 250ML and Dean Markleys he used on Power Windows, and the GK 2000CPLs he used on Hold Your Fire. Many Rush fans are satisfied with the 2112/Moving Pictures sounds but there are some very dedicated nerds who love his underrated and unfairly-derided 80s sounds.
I hope they talk to Geddy too: even though he didn’t use amps in the later years, his signal chains were still interesting. Ashley preamps, Trace Elliot Quadravalve, SansAmps, Palmer speaker simulators, loads of variations over the years. And that’s live, what about all those great studio tones?
I second notions of 301 Chorus Echo. Also, Alex loves his TC stuff. TC 2290 dynamic digital delay and Spatial Stereo Expander 1210. IK TC Electronic Collection would be a dream come true! 1982 Korg SDD-3000 too. Many overlook Alex's 80's digital era tone, but I think it was awesome!
Where are the GK models? Will those be an add-on later? I thank you guys for putting this collection together, and for letting Lerxst and Boozge demo it for us!
Really nice demo! (I went to the IK website and your demo sounds more like Alex Lifeson than he does though the patches, lol.) I decided some years ago to go back to mic'ing amps for my own music but I'd really like to have this in my DAW to work with. It sounds phenomenal!
I’m a bass player so obviously Geddy was my guy but has there ever been a genuine guitar god more overlooked than Alex Lifeson? He is off the charts brilliant.
@GuitarAnthony - Do you think the Tonex Satch collection is better sounding then his Amplitube one? I've been on the fence about a Tonex upgrade for awhile.
Finally Alex LIfeson gets a nod!! If only you covered his personal legacy pedals and racks as well, for Amplitube! Maestro PS-1A Phaser and Echoplex from the early days, Boss Chorus Ensemble, Electric Mistress and Space Echo / Chorus Echo from "Permanent Waves" and onwards..
Pretty cool! Since I already had Amplitube Max I haven't purchased Tonex yet but this might convince me. Do the artist packs (including the Lifeson one) come with Tonex Max?
I wish it was common practice to include profiles that are taken from the amps's input to the FX loop Send and from FX loop Return to the speaker out via loadbox, having the Preamp and Power amp sections separated is providing extra flexibility in crafting unique tones.
I dig that he’s got his hands in a number of things. Not only has he had a few pedals done up… but he’s got his lerxst mojotone amps, Godins guitar… and this software side?!? He’s not leaving anyone out!!! Of course, buying any of this ain’t gonna turn you into Rushs guitar player. But for the tonehounds… it opens some fresh doors!!! Be inspired. Do something different. Learn what you can. And crank it up!!!
I can imagine something cool for ToneX One anniversary : nice colorful ToneX one pedals loaded with Satch/Brian May and other artist signature themed limited edition. 🎉🎉🎉 I would love to buy a ToneX pedal or one « Brian May » with colorful case
@@ikmultimedia yeah, that is not some pawn store guitar. It's based on his 80's SportsCaster model that he used for Moving Pictures, Signals, Grace Under Pressure, and Power Windows.
I can't afford this right now, at least that's according to my rational and fiscally responsible brain. That part of my brain is dwarfed by the Rush/Alex Lifeson fan part of my brain, and it's not going to win the argument...
What a time to be a guitarist. You can simply just buy faithful captures of ALEX LIFESON'S AMPS. As a rush fan, this is unreal.

I miss seeing Rush in concert SO BAD! Truly some of the greatest musicians that ever played!
I agree and the most expensive band in the world last tour ..

It's on sale right now!
“I’m so blown away by these sounds!” 😍🎸🖖🏻
We are too!
His Lerxt amp sounds so sweet. It's great to finally get the Club and Country amp mod to get that true Moving Pictures tone.
This dude plays those Rush riffs bang on🫤
He's been working on them for years, I hear.
@ …hahahahahaha👍
Yeah he's okay ... LOL
Finally someone did a Hughes and Kettner model!!!
A well deserved nod to the Master!

Thanks for the suggestions! Also note you get the great Test for Echo (yes, I know, 90s but still) tones here too with the 6100 "Curly" Tone Models.
Great to have Nick with Alex, one of my favorite producers!
Love my Tonex Annie. Alex too. My first guitar hero.
living legend
Great Alex beautiful sounds you are the best!!!
Finally a pack I’ll
Pay for!

Complimenti a ik e anche a chi edita i video. Grande qualità

Brilliant, indeed!
Nice !!! Just got the JS pack❤. Would love a Brian May ToneX pack…
Lerxst & Booujzhe FTW!!!
Yes please!!!
No question. Immediate purchase just like the Satch collection was.
@GuitarAnthony - Do you think the Tonex Satch collection is better sounding then his Amplitube one?
I've been on the fence about a Tonex upgrade for awhile.
Agreed, now Buck Dharma from BOC please!
My mind just exploded..holy fookballs..TONEX LERXST!!
OK I am Sold 😁
We hope you enjoy it.

God sent
Can we get Buck Dharma from BOC next!?
Went on YT for the Petrucci Archetype X update, but came across something even cooler! Now I have to spend money I guess😂
We apologize, but we will not stop making cool things. :P
Nice !! 🎉💵
Sounds beyond awesome. But let me get one thing straight : do I have to get Tonex Application to run this or can I use with Logic Pro ?
These Tone Models run in TONEX but note that TONEX is also a plugin that will work in your DAW so you're all good.
Hey Nick ... you better update your tonex app cause there is an amazing new update out now which include many awesome fx 😂
Where's Alex mesa boogie mark v ?
Yowza! Surprise🤘
thank you so much
Pretty cool! Since I already had Amplitube Max I haven't purchased Tonex yet but this might convince me. Do the artist packs (including the Lifeson one) come with Tonex Max?
The Signature Collections are separate. With TONEX MAX you get a curated set of over 1000 Tone Models.
@ikmultimedia Thanks for the answer. Does the Alex Lifeson Signature Collection come with Studio Max?
@@ikmultimedia I'd like an answer to @derekp.683 2nd question also.
I love Alex's playing so much
👏🎵👏🎵👏🎵
Let's get a Steph Carpenter of DEFTONES rig
Is this included with Tonex Max?
This is a new Signature Collection, a separate purchase.
Nick! from Sound City!

See what he's using? I believe that Alex could go into a pawn shop or second hand store, find a used beater of a guitar, and sound like Rush with it.
While I agree with your second point, note that he's using a $4K Lerxst signature guitar.
@@ikmultimedia yeah, that is not some pawn store guitar. It's based on his 80's SportsCaster model that he used for Moving Pictures, Signals, Grace Under Pressure, and Power Windows.
Correct. It is the "Limelight" model Lerxst (made by Godin). It's a terrific guitar.
Price please
$99

Is this pronounced "Lurcksssst?"
