Just can’t get on board with the brown recluse. I’d constantly worry that she escaped if I couldn’t put eyes on her in her enclosure. It’s beautiful though. She’s the luckiest brown recluse in the world.
Those jumpers makes my hearth melt, they are so freaking adorable, also i hate to rehouse Birupes, pokies and Lapropelma violecepeus, they are all crazy fast and got potent venom. Ill be going to montreal on the 14th to pick up a HUGE Xenesthis sp blue confrmed female :).
I love the medium octagons with the air holes on the small sides. Awesome ideas. I literally watch a lot of your videos repeatedly, just to see a rehoming again. I do love the picture at 2:42.
I was watching this at work with some downtime and I found and caught myself a female jumping spider! 😃😃😃 I currently have a male at home, and I’ve always wanted to find a female. 😃
@@Robert-kw7ls an enlarged abdomen may be a sign that your spider is due to molt soon. My advice would be to continue to care for her as you have been doing. Is she accepting food? Oftentimes a spider who is about to molt (in pre-molt) will appear a bit lethargic and they are less/not interested in feeding/hunting. I hope this helps and I'd be really interested to hear back from you if poss! :-)
I find your videos very educational. You and Brian Barczyk have definitely changed my perspective on spiders. I have so much respect for their beauty and their place in nature.
Just want to say, love the videos. Also my wife found it interesting that I follow you here and y’all are both part of the same animal crossing group on Facebook. Lol. I think it’s awesome.
UGH OMG, I accidentally stumbled upon this video and you’ve just solved a minor mystery in my life. I found an itty bitty black and green spider crawling on my bed a few weeks back and I couldn’t find it on the list of spiders native to my state for some odd reason. But, now I know, it was a male jumping spider! 🥺 I’m so glad I took that little dude outside after seeing how cute they are!
I live in Kentucky, and I don’t remember a day that I haven’t seen several brown recluses in my house. 🤣 They make wonderful pets, though, and we enjoy them. Helps if you’ve had mild reactions to bites in the past.
I have been keeping my first ever spider for almost a month now, and I'm in love!!! He's a Royal jumping spider that I just found in my room one day. XD I named him Loki, and having him has been a dream come true~
Thank you Kat!! Not only have you made me not as scared of spiders & tarantulas, you’ve actually been making me research which one would be the best for a newbie like me to own! 💗
I love your videos Kat! Thanks for all your hard work. You really care about your critters and I think you set a great example for new keepers (like me) and all keepers in general. 👍🏻🧡
I want a jumping spider so stinking bad! I have never been into spider and then saw a jumping spider and quickly fell in love. Now I am on the spiral you cannot get out of, of wanting every single tarantula there is! Lol
Lol I just love that Spiders, and Snakes are some of the only groups of animals were the sexual dimorphism is "Reverse" with bigger females and smol doodes
I’m definitely in the minority because my P. Irminia has always been so easy to rehouse! She always just walks straight into the new home and has never given me a threat pose or bolted on me
Because of your videos, lately when I have found a spider inside I catch it and release it back outside. The other day I caught a jumping spider, and I was able to identify that it was a male because of his green fangs! So the spiders in my home thank you lol
Your jumping spider actually kinda looks like Lucas!!!! Most adorable spiders in my opinion! Also I used to take care of a black widow/Australian Ridgeback right? Buuuut I was about 7 or 8 and my uncle was about to stomp on it with a shoe in his garage and my mother didn't want me to save it and take care of it. But I put it in a washed out pill bottle with a itty bitty hole for air and got home and fashioned a Mason jar and kept it until it passed away of natural causes. Had no idea how old it was when I stared talking care of it. But glad I could do such. Actually cried when I came home to feed her and she was in a death curl... named her black sabbath lol...
7:04 I found a rock that looks like that once. I’m not sure, but I think it’s a piece of fossilized coral or something similar. You can find all kinds of cool fossils and even geodes (rocks with crystals inside) in & around creeks, lakes, etc. (in the Midwest at least) I’d love to see more enclosures like these in the future, they’re really cool :)
You have some absolutely beautiful spoods but I think that my favorites are actually the jumping spoods and the recluse. I love spoods but those are so cute!
The first jumper you rehomed I caught one at work and let go outside on my bansi he she moved on butt I got so many running around its neat .recluse in my house, sorry but they get squished .if there outside there fine .live where there is plenty of them and I just dont need that kind of scar. Cool rescue and nice new enclosure, sure you will spoil em rotten lucky spider.gotta catch something for my jumper now.
oh man, im not scared of spiders but with how easy it is for the recluse to hide in that enclosure id be so worried each time i looked in and didn’t see her! however, im sure its a very comfortable living space for her and definitely better than meeting her end by pesticide.
Onehas to be very careful with brown recluse spiders, but its spideryness isso awesome. Some of the UK house spiders are very similiar insize and markings but are harmless, I feel they arecute and funny
Where did you get all of the containers from? They definitely don't look like any brand of spider habitats that I have seena and was wondering if there was a cheaper way than buying 20 dollar "containers" made for spiders.
I'm in Australia and received my first Atrax Robustus (sydney funnel web spider) in the mail the other day. If you wanna know what nervous is. Try rehousing one of them 😱😱
Hello! I'm a new viewer and subscriber (this is the first video of yours ive seen) and am wondering where you get the smaller cylindrical containers and the square containers you used for rehousing. Keep up the great content!
Why dont you add water bowls to your enclosures.... not a dig at all just a question..... love your channel huge huggles from Scotland uk 🕷🏴🕷🏴🕷
Sorry to go off topic but I always love your lippy (Scorpio is one of my favs too) but this grey lipstick is perfect and I’ve been after one for ages, can I ask which it is? 🕷💕

Hey Kat, where did you get the enclosures you used for the jumping spiders?
Dusk Raven they are softball display cases. Hobby lobby and a few other places usually sell them
QUESTION can you get Chilean rose hair tarantulas in the uk
You should've given the Brown Recluse her crardboard, because all spiders want to feel at home!
@@tarantulakat eeeeek im such a fan omfg hi (oh my f****** god i hade to do that because its swering

I love the way jumping spiders move!
It's like they're in stop motion or experiencing low internet speed or something.
snakesocks That’s such a great description!

Got my first pair of jumping spiders this week! They're so cute! I am in love with them already. I named the girl Cocoa and the boy Oreo
I keep them as well
Such amazing little guys ❤️
You should make them an instagram and become famous
Amazing, I got a few different species from world of phids
Pictures? I love jumping spiders

I do have a quick question. I believe she might be pregnant because her abdomen is very big, do you think I should let her go?

Nice job. My daughter caught a brown recluse the other day in our house. It was put outside. Thank you.

I love those enclosures you're using for the Jumping spiders
“I love specimens and stuff like that” 😏😘
Thanks for brightening my day with an excellent video! Makes painting a house outside in the sun a little more bearable 😊
Found a Brown Recluse at work. Had to rewatch your vid because I didn’t remember how you housed it. Thanks!!!
I’m definitely in the minority because my P. Irminia has always been so easy to rehouse! She always just walks straight into the new home and has never given me a threat pose or bolted on me

I would catch the spider and feed it a mealworm my dad might get mad though because he buys them for the tarantula lol.
they are all super cute and those enclosures looked amazing! im jelly!!
My garage is full of them, I'm in Missouri too. I got one I am keeping to study in a safe enclosure.
The Jumping spiders are nearly my fav's love their new Cribs 💗 love your videos
The cool chunk of fossil your husband found is fossilized coral. You will find it a lot in Missouri since we use to be covered in a shallow sea!

that neat rock with the little deposits on it could be used as a water dish almost
Love stickers! Great video glad to see people sticking up for recluse.
that one rock looks like the craters in the moon🌕 so cool 😁
Those were pretty cool!
Shoes are the best enclosures for brown recluses.
Where do you get your jumping spider enclosures and things like that?

I missed the part where you burned the egg sack 😂 Great vid, no thanks on that spider lol
Yeaa, definitely creeped out about you having a brown recluse. Too many horror stories.
However, your dedication astounds me.

The Container Store sells the arboreal ones. They are called amoc boxes. The cubes are softball display cases. The big one is a model car display case
Please do a true spider feeding video? I love the jumping spiders!
how do you build or where do you find the containers so easy to close and so transparent? sorry for my grammar! I'm Italian but I follow you often!
Where’d you get that pink spider plushie?
where do you get your jumping spiders? i really want one they are so cute and they look like good starter spiders ❤️ ( im not sure if they are )
Looks like sea life fossils.
Okay. I have a question. Would the enclosure you made for your Brown Recluse be suitable for a Namibian Recluse?

Yes, many people there have them.
If you find spider legs creepy, you should definitly watch Possum, great freaky horror movie
