@@Learningguitarnow that’s jaw-dropping. However, let’s talk about how lightning struck twice w/ Derek picking up the torch at such a young age and just put his own stamp on things, and continues to carry the flame.
Congratulations! I read an interview of Eric Clapton who told that Duane was playing allways with standard tuning. I studied his Layla-Key to the Highway solos note by note, with standard tuning. It’s a little tougher than open tuning, but in the end it works very well. Anyway, you captured the feeling that the later Duane had. I am pretty sure that at the Fillmore he had switched to open D or open E, like Little Martha. Best!
Hey there! I’m so glad to see someone switching between open E and standard! Do you have any tips for a longtime standard player starting on the journey into open E (and slide)?
You give Duane a lot of props. Need to give yourself some bro. Your playing is right up there with Derek, Duane and Warren.
Thanks so much!
What’s incredible is when you think about all that Duane was able to achieve before his passing at the age of 24! Thank you for this lesson. 🤙
Yeah no doubt! His feel is really hard to capture.
Picked up guitar at 14, died at 24. In those 10 years, he completely changed the game. Incredible.
He only played slide for 2 years I believe.
@@tonekilltech Exactly Brad!
