Yeah. Come to find out, these two absolutely despised one another! I guess, though, that that's what gave this show such genuine flavor. People ate it up, big-time, and loved every delicious bite of it!!!

@@edwardgaines6561 Unlike Moonlighting, Castle etc. where the egocentric stars let their personal issues interfere with the show. Ed and Amanda kept it professional and never let it affect the show. Hell, the public had no idea about any of it until recent years which is impressive.

They were both trying not to laugh in a scene together in bloopers from one of the last seasons. If Ed wanted to not be directed by Amanda all he had to do was put his foot down, and he didn't, he was directed by her many many times.
Marcy was a side character and thought she commanded the same pay and power that Ed did. After an argument, he told her if one of us has to go, it’s gonna be you, she calmed down some. They let her direct more episodes to keep the peace.
