Yes Also I really don't agree with some people's logic of "low vigor = you learn the fight, high vigor = you don't learn the fight". I actually think it's the complete opposite. With high vigor/low damage, you still have to have about the same ratio of "getting hit by the boss:hitting the boss", but now you don't die instantly so you're spending way less time in a loading screen and more time actually fighting and learning the boss. If you really HAVE to die in order to learn your lesson, then sure, go low vig. But I feel like if you get hit by a boss, you should be able to learn what you did wrong and adapt without having to die. With vigor, you get so much more time in the boss fight itself and not in a loading screen or running to a fog gate. You get so many more chances to get hit and learn. And not only do you get way more time with the boss, but you might even experience parts of moves that you would never/rarely experience with low vig. The biggest example is waterfowl dance. Low vig players struggle with waterfowl so much not only because it's an insane combo, but because 99% of the time, they die to the first part of it and never even get to experience the rest of the combo. They have little to no practice against the whole combo, so they have to basically master dodging the first part before they can even start learning the rest. With vigor, new players can tank the first part, letting them experience and practice the rest of the combo. Vigor just lets you get way more experience against bosses in general. Thank you for coming to my ted talk
e x a c t l y more time in fight usually leads to learning more of the combos. So many of the follow ups will just merc them immediately. All that time in loading screens takes you out of "fight mode" and idk-just seems better to lower your damage and up your health if you really wanna learn the fight with getting hit as little as possible. And the waterfowl is a perfect example of that, bad boy has like 4 major phases you have to get through and learning how to dodge just 1 phase of it at a time I think would be adding a lot more time to it. great points I didn't bring up thanks smurbo
I can't believe Fromsoft got this aspect right in Dark Souls 2, but not Elden Ring. Every level in DS2 adds a small amount to Max HP. You can build a glass cannon, but you won't be as brutally handicapped as you are in ER. If Vigor is that non-negotiable, it should be built in
Is vigor not as important as some people think? Is it...allowed to level this forbidden stat? Let me know
Yeah no shit tbf
play online for 2 seconds and see hosts getting 1 shot with 500 vigor hence the whole point of the topic
Yes

So what then should I level it to 60? Or is 40 enough?
40 is the first soft cap 60 is the 2nd cap-depending on your level then aim for one of those.
but if you are level 125+ should try to get to 60
no
