    I've been from pillar to post watching walleye vids...this is by far the best transfer of knowledge I've had the pleasure to watch. Great job, practical tips that are easy to understand. The majority of these vids are "watch me catch fish" total bs. Great job!!!!

    Great video! How long of a leader do you use and what knot do you use to tie the two lines together?

      Bout three feet or so, not sure it matters too much on Sakakawea, but it can other places, obviously. I use a double uni knot.

    Great video! Watching some walleye videos this morning and ran across some of yours. Good tip on casting downwind to feel the jig and control it better. Looking forward to spring fishing already. Great job with the videos and good luck fishing.

    This channel and especially this video deserves all the subs and likes. I’ve been on a quest to learn the ways of open water walleye and this was the most helpful video for jigging and cadence yet.

    I am so glad that I subscribed to your channel! I have now watched 4-5 of your videos and have learned so much. I hope that I can transfer that knowledge to my lakes! It is not like your lake but very clear and highly pressured by boats/skiers/ wakeboards/ jet skiers ect

    I love jigging or drifting for walleyes on Lake Erie. i used to do it 40 years ago all the time. Now, the new thing is trolling. In my opinion, that is not fishing, that is reeling.

      It sure is effective, but man...other than seeing a big fish come in the boat, I can't get much out of it. There is definitely an art - maybe more a science - to dialing in a good trolling bite, but it's not my favorite. I also think it makes for boring videos unless it's a how-to sort of thing.

    What is your preferred way to hook your minnows for maximum action but also so they stay on during the cast?

      I either go through the mouth and up the skull or through the mouth, out the gill, and reroute into the breast meat.

      @@BloemendaalFishing I’m 69 and have fished all my life from Canada, Green Bay, Lake Erie, Vermilion, even though I live in Tennessee. Got the walleye bug in mid 80,s. I have learned that rod reel line lures preferences are like spouse, pillow preferences, very personal. Doesn’t mean right or wrong, just different strokes for different folks. I like a bigger 2500 size reel that is also fast 6.2 ratio diawia and my rod preference is St. Croix. Until the last few years I was a medium or medium heavy guy but I now see the virtue of medium light in some applications and I have 3 ML rods. I enjoy you videos as you share good information, not holding back on key points. Keep up the good work and your channel will grow.

      @@BloemendaalFishing we all need a starting point 😊

    • @danward2490
      @danward2490 Рік тому

      @@BloemendaalFishing never underestimate how important a starting point is. When I was trying to learn to walleye fish the only starting point I had was books and finally IN-FISHERMAN magazine. No UA-cam, no bass pro, your information came from hanging around tackle shops and listening to the old timers. I would order tackle from the things mentioned in in fisherman. And back then how you did it was you mailed a check, the check would have to clear and then 4-6 weeks later you would get your package. So a starting point was HARD to come by!! So much easier now, thank God, with so much information available!!
