Couldn't agree more. I never hesitate to callout a poop job from BetaFPV, but this Air65 line has been a real joy to fly and incredibly durable! Thanks for your input on this one, Nick.
I think the Air75 should be compared to the Moblite7 because they are both the "light lineups", and the Meteor75 would be compared to the Mobula7 as the standard product line.
Just wanted to say that I've been having the weird issue with the purple halos on the C03 camera in my Meteor65 Pro, and taping the back with electrical tape as you showed has solved the issue, so thanks to you and everyone else that investigated it!
If we are talking about the "out of the box" experience, I think I agree. The air 65 is going to be better for most people because it's pretty good the way it is. They won't have to do a thing. The mobula6 however, in the hands of a person who likes to tweak and customize, becomes a much better whoop with a couple simple changes. I do like that Betafpv spent time tuning, and the Air65 is pretty dialed, but the mob6 also tunes up very well... Good problems to have I guess. It's a good time to be a whoop pilot!
@@NickBurnsFPV not at all! I pretty much followed the Ciotti FPV formula for the Ultimate 65mm Tinywhoop: 28000kv motors, Gemfan 1219 props. Swapped the battery connector to bt2.0, and when the stock frame wears out, load it into a Cockroach V3 frame. It's an indoor, freestyle ripper! This is the original Mob6, not the 2024. I buy one whenever I see it in stock anywhere! The aio board is so solid (buy that when I see them, too).

Very excited about this Air line, specially the FC. I have parts coming to build a custom one with Happymodel motors and Caddx Ant camera so at least in theory should be a great whoop.
I got the air 65 last week. My first tiny whoop. Didn't realize how much fun they are. Managed to crack the frame on a mild hit. Had to order a couple replacement frames. But that thing is crazy fast and fun.
I made a custom 65 with old betafpv aio F4. I used happymodel motors and co3 cam. It flies amazing! Far better then mobula6 that i got afterwards (even while being over 1 gram heavier) And i say that as a happymodel fan boy. So now I can wait to get this one. Although I will be tempted to swap the motors 😊 And yeah i have that same glare problem with that cam. It's not so often but it's really weird.
I tested the weird camera issue tonight. I didn't find my electrical tape on the back of the camera fixed it. Next step is to coat the camera pcb with liquid electrical tape.
Both are made for this purpose. To sell more spare parts. Even with a decent canopy, nothing breaks except the antenna, but with the air canopy everything breaks in a serious crash. I would only use something like this in racing where it really comes down to Ms. ✌️
Thanks for the comparison, my concern is that I have never has a BetaFPV FC last very long. After 5 bad ones in two years, I swore off them. Lost the last two during Igow. Happy model FCs have held up much better for me. I have had two DOA, but they were replaced by the seller and they have lasted longer than even the best BetaFPV board. yes, Its it a odd thing, some have no luck with one brand and do with another. Like a brand is personally cursed for us or something. I did in the comment hear of widespread mob6 2024 V1 AIO issues and HM revised the AIO to a v2. My two V1s are still running strong.
The mobula6 frame couldn’t take the abuse this new pilot was putting it through. However, the meteora pro 2022 makes for a good swap. Once my air65 frames are toast, I’m definitely going to check it out on the older frame which lies directly in the sweet spot of durability and lightweight.

Regarding Air75, I think its frame is too weak. I have tried it with my old meteor75 and new frame broke in multiple place in a couple days. Old frame seems to be more durable.
I kinda wish I had one of each, but I bought 2 Mobula 6s before the air65 came out. Just bought a 3D printer and had to replace some parts on my 5" quads, so my hobby budget is limited for the immediate future. One thing I will say about the mobula 6- I have two and fly them both equally, but I prefer the flight characteristics and flight time of one over the other. One has a bmi gyro and one has a icm gyro. To me, the icm flies better and it gets 30-45 seconds more flight time. Thanks for the comparison Nick!
I can't remember the specifics, I believe one of gyros need different filtering and I suspect happymodel didn't customize the flashing of the FC for each gyro. This could be the differences your seeing.
@@NickBurnsFPV The bmi is 3.2/1.6khz and the icm is 8/2khz. I updated to BF 4.5 and put the karate tune preset on both. I do think many in the hobby tend to develop an opinion about one brand or another. In the case of the air65 it will certainly take time as more and more get in peoples hands. So far my experience with the 4 I have, are champs so far.
Thanks for sharing your experience Nick! I'm new enough I'm grateful for all the wisdom.
I'm from Germany and I will never buy a Happymodel again... Customs and shipping costs are 50% on top of the price. I have no problems at all with Beta FPV. Beta FPV has better quality, better packaging, better small parts. The only problem is that you can't use Betaflight. Otherwise, the entire process with BetaFPV is better.
I'm sorry, "can't use Betaflight" with a betafpv quad?
For me, I hate the color choice for the Betaflight whoops.
65 air for analog, 75 air for WS
The thing
Nick burns racing whoop review, immediate like.
I'm missing company's making new 2-4s whoops, way more fun,I'm really missing my 2 hx 100's,they fly so beautiful, have track couple down
I have been a fan of 2s whoops, but we certainly haven't seen much in that market. My guess is when they were offered the market didn't buy them as much as the 1s variants.
When is your next give away i want to win a quad bc i don’t have the money to buy one 🥲 not to mention i don’t even have a quad yet
I don't schedule them. They come up organically. Stay tuned and it will come in due time.
