The Beatles changed his world even if he wont admit it.😢
The Beatles are all about change. 13 albums over 7 years and each one was completely different from the ones before.
What Gabe appears to fail realise without the Beatles none of the groups he likes would exist!
Thank you, I've been laughed at by some fools that think other. Jim
It's definitely been debated on whether or not the beginning guitar spawned both punk music and even metal. I remember reading articles and debates on it back in the 90's
White Album conceptual blueprint
A Helter skelter was a type of amusement ride found primarily in British fairgrounds and beaches from the start of the 20th century to present day. It's basically a lighthouse with a large spiral slide running around the outside of it.
The thing that gets me for some reason - probably because I'm so old now! - is that when they finally called it quits in 1970, after all that they'd achieved, they were all still in their 20s!
That's just insane.
The Beatles play any genre of music they feel like playing. They can do it all.
The Beatles.... the fathers of Heavy Metal.
The Beatles it seems to me really didn't have a genre they did exclusively but rather took on everything in their short time together and for that I love their music as I do a current artist by the name of Poppy who mixes up her sound very much. The Beatles and Poppy are my favourite artists because with them both you get variety and cutting sound always.
Considered the 1st heavy metal song. Amazing the genres they created in 7 short years
The first creat heavy metal songs 🖤😎🤘
Some critics will sight this as the first heavy metal record even you 2 was headbanging in your chairs 😂
Yes!!!
Some critics would be wrong
The first attempted heavy metal sound!
The link with Helter Skelter, of the The White Album, is that Charles Manson believed The Beatles were sending him secret messages via song lyrics on that album. They weren't. Also, The Beatles were absolute trailblazers, particularly with the psychedelic stuff.
If that's what Manson extracted, then that's on him
I hear something far more beautiful
@@ShawnKavanagh Absolutely!! The White Album is a masterpiece in my opinion. Not sure Manson actually believed they were messages to him. He may have just used that to manipulate and control his 'family'?
Helter Skelter by the Beatles was what Manson reacted to
"Tomorrow Never Knows" - probably the first trance tune.
"Helter Skelter" - probably the first heavy metal tune.
"I Want You/She's So Heavy" - probably the first doom metal song and probably influenced Black Sabbath
You might as well do Revolution now.
They do go hand in hand like Queens bicycle and we are the champions :)
I hope you guys realize that there's the Beatles and then everybody else
Theres a lot of great music out there. Im a 70s girl after all. But, no one compares to the Beatles!
They are great.
It's not even close. It's hard to wrap your mind around.
Exactly, people are jealous or whatever when they don’t recognize the Beatles changed history.
Do some REVOLUTION,
or COME TOGETHER.
FUCK GUYS GET WITH IT.
The Beatles do not change?😃
It is the only band who does not play the same staff forever.I love Metallica, but they really dont change their style.
he meant metallica
One of my favorite things to say about this song is "the first heavy metal song is a Beatles song about a slide."
The Beatles never liked doing the same thing. By a certain point, almost every song needed something unique. The instrumental of "Rain" is slowed down, while the lead vocals are sped up, as well as the reversed vocals at the end, and "Helter Skelter" was made to be the loudest, craziest song possible after Paul McCartney saw that The Who made "the heaviest song ever" and wanted to out-do them. You should definitely show Gabe some more later Beatles stuff, like "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" or "I Am The Walrus" (you shoud definitely do the new remix of that one).
Ahh Genius.....Paul McCartney hears that The Who's I Can See for Miles is the hardest song there is so in response writes Helter Skelter and invents heavy metal.
Interesting, I love both of those songs.
Nick, you should share "Tomorrow Never Knows", "Hey Bulldog", "Revolution" and "I Want You" to Gabe.
Like your honesty, guys. Keep going!
Back then, keeping up with the change meant keeping up with the Beatles.. They were he constant change .
The Beatles became more experimental from ~1965 onwards with Rubber Soul John described as "the pot album". They released approx 13 albums in the space of 7 years with a range of musical diversity.
Heckle and Jeckle cartoon is what you were thinking of I think.
The next song to tr is Yer Blues from 1968. Really good bluesguitar, like you have never heard the Blues before.
If you picture a squat, lighthouse shaped building, with a children's slide spiraling around and down the outside of it and the stairs to the top on the inside, that is a helter skelter. Some of the lyrics make a little more sense if you know that.
Thanks. Didn’t realize that
Helter Skelter is an amusement park ride in England. Charles Manson stole the term from the Beatles. The crows were called Hekyll and Jekyll. You are welcome.
That's why they've influenced so many other bands
I'm a Liverpudlian born and bred in my 60's and I've never heard this song despite having several of their albums. So thanks for this it was great
Nick, at last you put poor Gabe out of his misery and gave him some later Beatles stuff, not songs from the early years. Could you hear the collective sigh of relief from the audience?!
Like someone else said, you may as well play him Revolution now (the hard rock version please!!!). Maybe Oh Darling and Come Together from Abbey Road and Yer Blues from the White Album. Go for it!!
This is the 1st metal song ever junior. About 2 years ahead of SABBATH
You should hear I want you (she's so heavy). ROCKER!!!!
Beatlemania kicked off in 1964. So White Album was just 3-4 years after She Loves You/Can’t Buy Me Love, and 2-3 years after Help/Ticket to Ride.
In the UK it means a `Fairground Slide` circular in shape. Paul (Who wrote the song) meant just that interpretation-coz he`s from the U.K.
The Beatles are art. I love all their music because you never knew what you were going to get next and that’s what made them the “GOAT”. They were way ahead of their time. True talent!!!
The cartoon with 2 crows was Heckel and Jeckel.
The cartoon you're thinking about is Heckle and Jeckle.
Heckle and Jeckel were two cartoon crows.
Helter Skelter was the first Heavy Metal hit.
Helter Skelter was written by Paul McCarthy, Helter Skelter was the name of an amusement park ride in England.
So pleased you're finally converting him , I knew this track would wake him up.. Do strawberry Fields forever to complete the beginning of his journey. The White album is fantastic but I reckon most Beatles fan favour Sgt Pepper or Revolver. You should also show him the video that accompanies Hey Jude from the David Frost show, it's incredible.
Helter skelter to me was not your typical Beatles song, love it all the same tho. Great reaction as always :)
There is no typical Beatles song
Blues brought into the new age. One propels off the previous.
Helter skelter was the name of a two-story slide that spiraled down in a London park.
Happiness is a Warm Gun.
Guys b4 Revolver is poppy. After its amazing
The first heavy metal.
See revolution live. That's as hard as the Beatles get with respects to heater skelter.
The Crows cartoon were Heckel and Jeckyl. Charles Mansons was convinced that the Beatles were prophets or angels from the Bible's Book of Revelations Specifically, Revelations 9, coincidentally, the Beatles had an experimental song on the White Album called Revolution #9. Manson thought Helter Skelter was code for a race war. He wanted to get the war started by killing people he had grudges on and he hoped it would be blamed on Blacks. He even attempted to get in contact with the Beatles. He was a friend of Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys and Dennis tried to help Charles get into the music industry.
You should react to ALL the songs on the WHITE ALBUM because it has such an eclectic mix of styles, to SHOW HIM how VERSATILE their music is, ALL their songs are different. WHAT he has to UNDERSTAND is that WITHOUT those early songs from 1963 through 1966, he would NOT have "HELTER SKELTER. If he LISTENS to all their albums starting with their first album and go chronologically through 1970 when they broke up. The BEATLES changed with EVERY ALBUM. I can't believe he thinks they don't change when he only heard 3 songs. PLAY HIM "HERE COMES THE SUN," then, "OH DARLING," " then "REVOLUTION," then "WITHIN YOU and WITHOUT YOU," then "ELEANOR RIGBY," then "BACK IN THE USSR" "OB LA DI OB LA DA" then "DEAR PRUDENCE," then "WHEN I'M 64," "HEY BULLDOG," "YESTERDAY," "GET BACK," "I'VE GOT A FEELING" "ACROSS THE UNIVERSE," "BEING FOR THE BENEFIT OF Mr. KITE" the side 2 of ABBEY ROAD (the MEDLEY all the way through" Also "FOR YOU BLUE," "HEY JUDE" (and do the VIDEO for it) MAYBE then he can see how many different styles they play!!
Beatles can rock! They started it all!
Check out this song by them:
Song: Carry that weight
Comment: John Lennon underrated guitarist and George Harrison. This song will also show it
Manson mentioned that as an inspiration for his deeds. I think most Beatles fans would rate Abbey Road above The White Album, possibly Sgt Peppers too
Revolver will always be my favourite.
As a kid in London, that album was magical to me.
The story is that Pete Townsend [the Who] was telling Paul that he'd written the loudest/most noisy rock song ever [I Can See For Miles] so Paul wrote this song to prove him wrong ... Cool story! Check out the Who!
The first heavy metal song
A recommendation for a reaction: Happines is a warm gun by The Beatles.
Try Oh! Darling on the Abbey rd album , here comes the Sun one the most popular tracks from it
The Beatles invented the Heavy Metal..
The song selection are getting better. Should check out Hey Bulldog next.
Can y’all please do come together! Seriously man!!!
Heckell and Jeckell were the crows🐦⬛🐦⬛😎
In the first years they were uncontract to finish two albums a year. And they had to be short songs to fit AM radio. So don't blame the Beatles they were under contract.
Happiness is a warm gun is great too off this one
Revolver is the best album
Paul read something in the paper that the Beatles don't rock like the Who. Paul took that to heart and wrote this song...
They were kids when they did the early stuff. And the fifth Beatle, George Martin, hadn’t joined the band.
Next do the live version-video of Revolution and then I Want You and Come Together, and Oh Darling from Abby Road =Classic hard-rock Bealtes
❤❤❤❤
They used a different bass player and guitar for this recording.....so yeah they sound different. The bass player was a famous singer and the guitar player a famous writer.
.
.
.
.
Paul on guitar and John on bass
Try for him Yer Blues
Try Oh Darling
The Beatles of course had an amazing variety of sounds, always experimenting and innovating, each album's release a major event because you never knew what new thing you were going to hear. Everyone who loves the Beatles has their own very individual list of favourites as well as 'meh' songs, and some like the earlier and some prefer the later stuff, etc..
The problem here has been, I think, that one of you is playing the songs on HIS favourites list, which are not the ones that would appeal to your friend, who's into heavier stuff. So he now has the impression that 'this' is the the Beatles 'sound' and style (from what I've heard here, they've tended to be the earlier/ more poppy and/or sweeter, gentler songs), little realising there's something in the Beatles extraordinary repertoire for everyone. They INVENTED or at least popularised most of the genres of music to come, and virtually every musician who started out in band in the 1960s or 70s will tell you how they were inspired to take up music by the Beatles.
If you haven't already, try playing him some different, heavier things like Come Together, I Want You (She's So Heavy), Birthday, Tomorrow Never Knows, maybe even A Day in the Life. They won't be YOUR favourites, and you might be left puzzling over why others like them, but they might well turn out to be his, and at least get his toes through that door into the ageless magical mystery tour that is the Beatles Experience. Helter Skelter was a great start!
Manson thought The Beatles were talking to him in this song
Charles Manson believed that the Beatles were the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
You two have no shame!
You just now have realized that
Garage Beatles Raw . Paul was going off
This is the first metal song
Look to your comments guy, look , listen and perhaps understand!
Hope you have heard the latest one, hello from Liverpool, I pass John's house quite often 👍
What do think of the latest single?
It is not so much that the band that is changing especially with the Beatles or the Stones, it is the times that change, and even the technology. They started in the times of very EARLY Pop songs, totally controlled by the promoters and Record Companies, a lot of bands didn't / couldn't even write their own songs. Apart from a couple of early covers, the Beatles did. They were in at the beginnings of the Merseybeat, which replaced US rock like Presley, or Skiffle. They became big enough Stars to be able to control their own band directions. They progressed through the swinging Sixties, through the Hippy era, Through the drugs and LSD periods into the fascination with the Indian / Asian culture. At the same time Technology was changing, new electronic instruments, new sounds from thing like Organs and Synthesisers. New amplifiers, new effects, new types of Recording. Their first records were recorded in Mono, they were there when Stereo came along, then when digital sounds arrived. They went past the records being recorded on maybe two tracks, to the mixing of 8 or 10 tracks (never made it to the era of practically unlimited tracks and layering of today). They changed with the times and sound nothing like they did in the early 60's. Some bands don't change, it is true. For me the Best bands do progress
You are remiss in neglecting REVOLVER
theres a take where they played 30 straight minutes
Dat bass tho
Sgt Pepper then the White Album
This song was almost not released because Charlie Manson gave it credit for making him murder Sharon Tate.
no, dude, the crows were named "Heckle and Jeckle" not "Helter and Skelter"....
"Norwich Cathedral helter-skelter 'is a mistake'" wikigoogle that title for the other form of Helter Skelter
Scream those lyrics baby!
1968
So you didn't play him any of the Beatles early rockers like...
I Saw Her Standing There
I'm Down
Slow Down
Dizzy Miss Lizzy
Bad Boy
Roll Over Beethoven
The problem is most people reacting don't react to enough different songs.
Sergeant Pepper's and Abbey Road are the best in my opinion but they're all great.
You're wrong about the white album.
Most Beatles fans would pick either Revolver, Sgt. Pepper.. or Abbey Road as their favourite album.
The white album has many good songs but also lots of filler.
The Beatles, Rush, Led Zeppelin changed. AC/DC, who i love, didn't.
gabe needs context. they were so different from the rest of the world.
The Beatles have so many different sounding songs. I don't know why he's just been showing you such a bizarre frustrating order of songs. Should have went in chronological order.
To the Beatles trasher,Try Paperback Writer.
This song was written by one of the beach boys and Charles Manson in the comune they were in
No, no, no!!
No it wasn't
yes i was it was never copyrighted @@simonsandall3246 for obvious reasons so the Beatles recorded it . i have that on very good authority
Wait it was or wasn’t???? What came first I’m assuming Beatles. It would have been taboo to name your song after the Manson family “War” cry.
Turn it around for a min do you really think Charles Manson would take a lyric from a Beatles song and call it his own , i dont think so @@osvertlara5702
Volume is not talent. You seem to confuse that.
This is Paul McCartney live, not the Beatles from the White Album. Listen to the original. It is FAR superior. Please.
Will not view this channel again.... Thanks for the early warning on your lack of appreciation for the Beatles.
Its a fairground slide a helter skelper its in the lyrics!
