Having Sunak as prime minister is not a good for England just as having Obama was not good for America. You never know the kind of leader who would come after Sunak but in the US we have what happened in response to Obama presidency. Totally agreed with the guy who has facts against Churchill. I mean, I can't judge Churchill for what he's done, but he's done lots of bad decisions as well. Putting him in the top tier list as the best Brit ever is not gonna be that pretty.
Not really. each 'fact' this kid mentioned were only half of the story. Like just saying 'Terror bombings of Dresden' or 'The Bengal famine' without context of why. They were tough decisions that needed to be made to win the war. Acting like Churchill wanted to kill of part of his own empire just to be 'evil' is stupid and untrue. The Nazis were sinking every cargo ship carrying food and supplies, the Japanese were expanding their empire across all of eastern Asia and the Pacific etc. The Terror Bombings of Dresden were horrible but essential for stopping the Nazi's from supplying their eastern forces against the Soviets and they hoped it would convince Hitler to surrender but unfortunately the Germans had a powerful propaganda minister that spun the story in their favour. There's a lot more to each of these issues but i'm just using these as an example that you can't just say someone is bad without looking at the bigger picture.

Well, he was certainly a white supremacist, but most people of that generation were: it was inculcated in British children at school in those days. 'You have won life's first prize in being born British' was said to my dad in the 1930s.... Things which get done in wars are always going to inspire revulsion - none of us have had war on our doorsteps in our lifetimes, so we're not the best judges of what he should or should not have done. The Scottish MSP was actually spot on-he said nothing false or otherwise inaccurate. They brought him on the show to find out why he thought Churchill was bad, yet acted surprised when he didn’t list out all of Churchill’s positives? And of course Piers resorted to personal insults when he realised he was losing the argument.
Pray tell hiw you would have handled the war, how you would have handled the decision to feed your troops to keep them healthy enough to fight, or regular people.
Pray tell what you're actually basing your opinion on, because it sure as hell isn't facts.
Go and look at the Nazi government's documentation at what they had planned for the world, not just Europe, the entire world.

Absolutely not, perfection does not exist, every single one of us is a complex mess of a human being, that being said some human beings go on to do extraordinary things, like Churchill, Mandela and Ghandi, all three are deeoly flawed, but those flaws are heavily outwieghed but the good they eventually did.
Pray tell hiw you would have handled the war, how you would have handled the Nazis, how you would have handled the difficult choices like feeding the troops or feeding regular people, or choosing NOT to evacuat areas that were going to be bombed by air raids because doing so would have told the Nazis the enigma messages had been cracked...or have you ignored that bit of factual history? That Churchill had to let British people die, because he could not give the game away and let the Nazis know we had access to their secret messages?
What would you jave done with that information? You'd likely have given the game away and lost the war, leaving every single one of us alive today under Nazi rule.
It's far too simplistic to think Churchill was bad, he had views that were part and parcel of the era he lived, he still however lead the fight against the most evil power the world has seen this far. He had to bite his tongue and allie with Stalin, a man he hated with every fibre of his body, because without them we'd have lost the war.
You sit and judge when you clearly have no idea of the mega decisions that had to be made, that resulted in death no matter what, the only choice to be had was how many died and over what time period.
If we'd have lost the war we would be able to have this conversation, hell I'd have been killed by now because I'm a lesbian and I'm also disabled. Churchill is the reason so many people are alive today and the reason you can aur such a stupid ignorant opinion.
