Okay so to answer one or two things that Schaff might not know from the books - Yes the BFG is meant to be the smallest, it's why he gets picked on and isn't treated well, especially when he doesn't eat people and instead does the dream/drink stuff - The animated version keeps the "fart juice" thing as more artistic, like actual bubbles instead of lmaoFarts. Also it only has two moments at all, and the second moment makes the joke more about how unfamiliar the BFG is to the human world - Animated movie in general is a little better about the source material and respect to it, but it's definitely a story better suited to being a short film and not... this. - The book itself is a lot more kid-friendly than Dahl's usual work, especially as time has passed, but it's definitely on the weaker end of his catalog.
Big Mutha F@$KING Giant just drank “Green Fart Fizzy Lifting Drinks” compare Dahl’s idea of Willy Wonka (based almost close Charlie and THE BFG in a Dahl universe) can allow to drink fizzy drinks to lift high like a gravity instead we have bunch of people including Queen of Downton Abbey just drank all of them and farted throughout in each scene. That sh!t was horrendous and so fricking weird.

I haven't read the original book since Middle School, but I'm pretty sure the fart soda wasn't part of the story for as long as it was in this movie.
