This just rocked me. I am a mama of three tiny ones who loves the mountains so deeply and I spend my days packing everyone up and adventuring... I have never before felt so seen, so represented .... I literally cried the entire time I watched this. Every scoop, every snuggle, every brush of the hair out of crying eyes, every pocket full of snacks... the bag. Omg the bag. So heavy. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for sharing. I didn't realize how alone I felt, until now, when I realize I am of course not. You are amazing.
This is fantastic! I'd even say this could be made into something bigger.... this seems like a trailer of an amazing documentary of these 2 moms. What a great story!
@@lizvlx People like you confuse me... what’s wrong with him appreciating the things his wife does? Doesn’t mean that he doesn’t do anything on the household. Just mind your own business. That’s what I’m gonna do as well now :))
This is really beautiful - it needs to go viral in a big way. The raw, real portrayal of these women is a testament to the strength of moms everywhere and it's a joy to see them still able to get after it, even while carrying the motherload! I give Arc'teryx, and more importantly the athletes, a lot of credit for a much more substantive portrayal of sponsored athletes than one usually sees in a varnished, curated marketing piece. Bravo!
As a solo mum, I can say this hit hard and brought tears. I can relate to everything here. To all other mothers, doing everything they can for their kids, much love and support from La Grave, France.
And from Chamonix, France (wishing we were in La Grave!) this also really hit home today and I cried the whole time while rocking my littlest to sleep watching this!)
I'm not a mother-I'm not even a parent-but parent-aged, and having a completely opposite lifestyle of this courageous woman. Moved me to tears. Bravo, Arc'teryx, and bravo, Lynch sisters...
Yes. "You have to dig a little deeper to a place you didn't even know existed." Someone told once, before I had children, "You don't know what you can do until you have to." Special blessings and strength to all of us single mothers who also love the mountains.
I'm speechless...RESPECT, RESPECT, RESPECT for you wonderful women - God bless you! ...and thank you Arcteryx for supporting them. You make good stuff which I use but this effort, wow 👍🤙
As a mom of 3 I so deeply felt it. Watched it with my 5 year olds and they said that mom in the moving is amazing. I completely agree with them. Once movie was over, they both said let’s go skiing mom. One day they will carry their own bags and the load will get a little lighter. Totally bawling btw
I'm a proud son of a single mother who taught me life in the mountains, made me what I hope is a good man she can be proud of. Also for what it's worth, I had the pleasure of skiing with Dave at a photo shoot years ago. He was a rad guy, and skier but most importantly a good man and father. Much love to you and your families.
I was speechless watching this, what a film! Thank you for showing such perspective, so different from the usual "do what you want" I get all the time from the ski movies.
I'm due for my first baby in September, and this gave me so much peace. The little phrases about building the muscles to adapt to the load and about it being a gift. I really appreciate whoever produced this one. ❤️❤️
Thank for showing how strong, courageous, resilient and amazing single mothers truly are and the amount of weight (emotionally and physically) carried and held for our children, while still trying to follow our dreams and show them what is possible. ❤ Powerful. Makes me feel proud yet weep at the same time, knowing and seeing how hard it can be but its all so worth the adventure!
Are you kidding me!! I just felt all of the emotions. You ladies are legends! I was raised by a single mom. I played college football, became a Green Beret and a currently a Firefighter. You girls are and will be an inspiration to your children! You are so strong! I appreciate you!
“The very news she had always quietly feared.” I can relate so much to this sentiment. Anyone who has a partner who pushes themselves to extremes in the mountains sits with this. ❤️ Well done, made me cry & I’m not even a mom. All the feels.
I have never felt understood like that. I also desire to be in the mountains for climbing, biking ... everytime with all motherload on my own. Great, no glamour, no extra Wow. It is a hard struggle but even worth it. Every time! Thanx to these mommies!
Best shot was the oldest kid dragging Mom’s ski tips across the parking lot hahaha! I do find humor in this, respect, and lots of great memories being a single father. Cheers heroes - may not feel super yet but when the kids are older they will reward you with mutual respect.
I have always been a fan of Arc’teryx but I have to admit I am extra proud of the fact that this video was produced and that these awesome super cool moms are the showcase. I am the product of a single mom who said that “no matter what [she] was going to raise her two kids and do it all on [her] own” (my mom is still and always will be my personal super hero). So this isn’t a fan boy of the brand saying way to go brand. No, I am a fanboy of all moms out there who manage to do it all and and say hell yeah! You are worth all the praise we can heap on you. We all owe so much to our moms, and moms that share experiences like these with their kids, even though it is hard and so much more work than just a simple ski snowboard outing. I gush at feel so proud of the fact that we can highlight the experience of strong woman who are just being themselves. Going on their day to day and doing something that, honestly, most men can’t begin to understand. Not just being cool dad sometimes, but being a real mom with real kids all the time and showing them the experience of the outdoors while cleaning the snot, changing diapers, dealing with the tired, the crying, the cold kids, because being a minus hard. But damn we are all so much better off because our moms were there to hold our hand through it all teach us. So as a man who loves his mom, thank you. First to the moms, and second, to a brand that recognizes that motherhood, with all the challenges, especially single moms, needs to be put front and center, because moms keep the world going round. Love you mom!!
There isn't a mother that doesn't experience failure, not being good enough, often daily.......especially with 2-3 children. As a mom to the moms in this video, you are creating magical moments with your kids that will bless them their entire lives. You are brilliantly transparent and real. Mothers love deeply, keep going and often feel like giving up everyday. The power of a Mother's love is a gift.
Thank you so much Arc'teryx for having these two wonderful women represent single parents and their strength. I am a single mum, I also love skiing and taught my son, I had cried watching this video. We have also gone though all this and now I am watching him to do skiing competitively. The story made me feel I am not alone and made me feel proud for all of us -- strong and loving mums.
Made me cry. As a single Mom of three I worked hard to get my kids up the local mountain as much as possible. The kids were slaves to downhill and I was a x-country enthusiast. Even if I had mastered downhill (tried and failed) I could never have kept up with them. Thank goodness for the support of the other super downhilling Moms. I remember the peace of being in the snow and the warmth of gathering with our friends for potlucks when everyone came off the mountain at the end of the day. Such happy memories I'll cherish for a lifetime.
What an absolutely beautiful film. It is so inspiring to see the mothers handling the challenges of all their children and life in general and yet still be able to enjoy life. Thank you for producing this.
As an outdoor loving, organic-farming father of two -- this was so incredible to watch. Very well done. My wife and I have a medically fragile child and the challenges are just daunting. We all have our burdens and the honestly herein was incredibly touching. But just getting out there, immersed in nature, when and if and whatever that means to you -- and no matter if you just barely make it -- is always a tremendously rewarding and underlines the most basic reason(s) for life.
Wow!!! You are amazing. I applaud you for your indomitable spirit. You are a true hero and I am humbled and in awe. I wish you continued strength to carry on. Your children are so loved and so lucky to have such a kick ass mom. 🙏🏼❤️
The mountains bring me peace and are my "happy place". I lost my wife 8 years ago and raised our son who was 12 at the time. We put him in ski school when he was 8 but he didn't enjoy skiing as much as I do and my wife didn't care for the cold weather but we did manage to do some local trips. After my wife passed I took my son to Sunshine and Lake Louise to show him what real skiing is and he was surprised at how long the runs were. Now I ski solo most of the time.
Very beautiful! The struggle and joy that we have experienced teaching and raising our three boys how to ski. My wife devotes unbelievable amount of time preparing us to go skiing just to see them experience that epic powder day! There’s two of us. I could only imagine doing it all on your own.
It is commendable to see a ski film about real people living real lives. Thank you so much to these two mothers for sharing openly. God bless you and your families. ❤️
I did this with three. They all started out in a pack on my back. When you get to the point where they’re skiing on their own, it’s so wonderful. Then they don’t want to ski with mom anymore. Give yourselves kudos.
I knew Dave Treadway, I still can't believe he's gone, leaving Tessa and those three little boys, and many friends who loved him. It breaks my heart whenever I think about it.
This video made me crying. This video reminded me the time I raised my twin boys. I eager to go skiing. I did only once by myself. I wanted to have friends like them. These kids are so lucky to have such a awesome moms!!
This touched me so so deep! Amazing! I am a mom of two, not a single mom myself, but raised by my mom alone. In the middle of Covid you can feel very lonely and you can struggle with managing everything, but this video made me realize how lucky I am. Two healthy boys, my amazing husband to be. Being a mom is the most amazing job in the world, ever! Would not change it for one single thing! You two are amazing, just being you, the best mom day in day out! Love from Holland
I'm a dad with a 1.5 yr old boy, and a wee girl due in 3 weeks. I want to show this film to my wonderful wife, and remind her that she's a mummy bear. I'm her daddy bear, and we're lucky to be in this together.
This reminds me of my intrepid wife Julie Choo-lee who has always graciously taken on the many mantles of motherhood including taking our boys out summer camping (when I'm usually at my busiest at work) and being the primary ski instructor (since their dad's the only snowboarder). Her love of the outdoors has been indelibly transferred to our kids. Such a great watch and a great tribute to all the strong women, moms or not, who call the outdoors their home.

Incredibly good, sad, beautiful. Even though I'm not a mother, but a father of 2 children, I thought the film was fantastic. I have the greatest respect for the mothers and will try to maintain my respect for the dangers in the mountains.
Thank you so much! It is an honor to be a mother and the video is a hymn for all mothers out there!! As a solo mum with a huge passion for the mountains especially skiing, i exactly can feel every sentence and moments both mothers shared. I‘d like to watch this video in bad times, to realize that I do a fantastic job all the time. The kids are totally worth it.
Why would anyone give thumbs down to this heart felt, motivational story? I say well done! And blessings to all those Moms out there at the ragged edge where love is the only bastion in holding back the demons - a tenuous existence at best, at times. Seeing this production, these children know this love and coupled with knowing mountains too, are well prepared for their future lives as adults. Good job Mom. No one is here, thriving, without you.
What a beautiful film. Brought me to tears and laughter too. You have captured perfectly all the lovely, messy details of getting on the mountain. Love this so much. Thank you both.
Wow! Wow! Wow! What an effort for the best in life- your kids! My honest and deepest respect of what you are facing every day to bring your family to the mountains and doing this alone, Bravissimo and the best regards from Bavaria, Germany ❤️
Aw this made me cry. We love you and your family. You’re doing such an incredible job, no matter how heavy it is some days. I hope I’m as good of a momma as you❤️
Tears to the eyes! Such beauty Yup it’s all about seeing the freedom whether we are in pleasure, powder day, or we are in pain, ____ fill in the blank, The mountains show us the tru buddha not the perfect plastic statue version. Praise to finding freedom in the middle of our lives not in some dream of powder days forever. Be well, mean it!
Arcteryx is my number 1 choice of outdoor clothing brand not only because they hire Asian designers, which made me feel more inclusive, they also promote motherhood showing how women are strong and independent.
Thanks for being real. It touched a truth in me that needed to be cried out so bad, in the best possible way ever. In a way that can serve me and others. " we cant wish for a lighter load" ,,, well said. Applause to everyone involved in such beautiful touching production . ARC' TERYX: that s ultimate bad ass content in my view. Honoring a mostly overviewed/ dismissed set of skills and accomplishments.

Let's go ski.
🌹 from France, same motherclub here. One day it will become better 🌤.
There is more of us 😉
I admire you! Thank you for giving your kids the gift of nature. I will always be thankful to my parents for doing that for me.
@@kristine8338 what about fatherclubs? Many men also carrying this load alone :/
I like that Arc'teryx chose to sponsor them, that is beautiful and honorable.
motherload is a little less load with Arc'teryx as your sponsor ⛷️⛷️⛷️

Totally agree.
agree!!!
100% Yes!
They have a 4 part series at the first one just came out today!
As a „young“ dad it rips my heart out. How fragile is a family. Make me appreciate many little things my wife does every day. :)
That is a very 1950s thing to say no? You should be doing them things, not being thankful for your wife doin it.
@@lizvlxI don’t get it sorry...

Wow!! So moving to witness how you have both carried on after your tragic losses and become true powers of examples for all who in similar situations!
Aw this made me cry. We love you and your family. You’re doing such an incredible job, no matter how heavy it is some days. I hope I’m as good of a momma as you❤️
I’m glad to realise that I’m not the only mother picking up her kids just by grabbing their snow suit and pulling them up 😆💜
Tears to the eyes!
Such beauty
Yup it’s all about seeing the freedom whether we are in pleasure, powder day, or we are in pain, ____ fill in the blank,
The mountains show us the tru buddha not the perfect plastic statue version.
