well chat talks about it, it is made for a younger audience and most people don’t play the game for 5 hours at a time so the flashbacks are great for those people. but they’re definitely goofy for people like smant. 🤣

The IGN review of this game is a perfect example of why I've never gone to IGN for reviews. Honestly don't think we would notice any difference if AI started writing the reviews.
And it’s not just the hour in sleep. It’s the whole circadian rhythm that’s off for days. It piles up as the week goes on. Then when your circadian rhythm finally adjusted you gotta recover from exhaustion first. Which obviously comes easier for some than for others.

So funny thing about the title ... a certain other game company known as Mihoyo (Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd, etc) tends to get their games nicknamed as Depression Impact by the community, and whenever the Lead Writer says a certain story will be "positive and wholesome", its immediately a red flag for upcoming tears. From what I've seen of the entirety of PMD, it's just Depression Impact before Mihoyo became popular. Few things have hit me as hard as the Partner's breakdown at the end here.
Very much agreed, not to shit on anyone's ambition to work on voice acting, because I love seeing people learn how to embody a character. But having 70% of 4-5 hour videos be an intentionally annoying voice is cringe and very hard to listen to

I noticed a lack of traps and monsters houses in his playthrough, and it really shows in Temporal Tower... Did both get lower odds between Time and Sky? I never could do multiple floors without encountering multiples... especially the 0-PP traps... I know this version is much easier, with all the busted items that were added and more effects that can affect bosses...

Either their taste in video games is quite poor or IGN reviews have been bought by the game publishers the whole damn time like we expected. I'm gonna guess that I play way more Madden than the average Smant viewer, so I'm gonna let you know that Madden 25 was the 25th anniversary of the series and was the very next game after Madden 13. Madden 13 was basically the beginning of the end for Madden. It and Madden 25 weren't really all that special. Madden 25 made running the football fun again, the problem was you could run for 400 yards in one half, even on the highest difficulty. The current NFL record for an entire game stands at 296. I'm sure it was fun the first game he booted up back in 2014, but it was still Madden. That automatically caps the rating at 7/10, not that it will ever get there.

I think he genuinely enjoyed it. He‘s not a story gamer though if that isn‘t obvious with the games he‘s usually playing and speedrunning. And you gotta admit the dialogue in this game really repeats things too much so that 8 year olds don‘t forget what has just been said. The flashbacks are the cherry on top. He said himself the game would be perfect if it weren‘t for all these flashbacks. I think for someone like him who‘s more of a gameplay gamer it can just get really annoying when story scenes get stretched out so much by characters repeating things over and over and flashbacks. He skipped some dialogue in this too saying „yeah yeah we know that already“. I still believe him when he said he enjoyed the game and said the plot twist in the future with the player being Grovyle‘s partner was good and he was genuinely surprised. For not being a story gamer he still enjoyed it for what‘s it‘s worth I think. And from a gameplay perspective he was really good. People keep saying he was overleveled and while that may be true for a few levels that wasn‘t what made his playthrough so easy. Sure he was also lucky to not encounter a single monster house in Temporal Tower but he also just used items really well throughout the whole game and didn‘t just try to brute force everything with attack moves only. I think this is my favorite first playthrough of someone simply because he actually didn‘t JUST play it for the story but also played the game really well.

For those that know you usually can't use Orbs inside an actual boss room like what small ant Experienced with Manectric in the previous part, with that monster house rooms seemed to be exactly like the boss rooms where you couldn't use the orbs. If anyone had ever had any of the same experiences using the orbs, lmk.
the whole "slip and fall, can sue ya now" is overly simplified and has a lot more nuance to it. Part of which is whether the property owner has neglected the state of their property, whether they put known hazard on it, why the person who fell was even on the property, the injured the person is (if the person just got a bruised, then there'll be no reasonable point in suing and everyone will laugh at you), and any insurance (medical, home, etc) involved.
I mean being outside the Us i can't get it... Why do you care how i have MY property... Don't enter my property and i'm 100% sure you won't fall inside... I'm suing for trespassing too lol you guys are kinda crazy...

So, at times suing isn't so much suing the individual, but the insurance company (house insurance here, or even health insurance) so that the person can recover from their injury. Now, there are pros and cons to both systems that the US and other countries implement. The US's system is supposed to help with self-advocacy, recovering medical cost, and as a discouragement for dangerous practices. A lot of tort law, which is where these scenarios sit with a nice sprinkle of property law, is historically shaped by people getting hurt due to a business acting negligently. Thus, the common person being able to sue the businesses provide an incentive to not act negligently or it could fuck them up. Also, to note, a lot of the stereotype of the US needing "tort reform" and being overly litigious is propaganda by major corporations, because they don't want to pay out when they've done something stupid. Look at the McDonald Hot Coffee Incident as the perfect example of that. Next, typically in US law, there are three types of people who enter another's property. Trespassers- someone who enters another person's property without permission. The property owner owns them the lowest duty- basically none. But, there are exceptions. A property owner cannot have a booby trap design to hurt trespassers. There are also exceptions for children trespassers. And exceptions for "known" trespassers. For an example: if a property is a shortcut for hikers to a destination or if it is a common path for school children. Once a property owner is aware of the common use of their land by trespassers, they then have a legal obligation to warn these trespassers of hazards. Licensees- This is someone that the property owner invites to their property but for none-business means. Think of friends and family. The property owner must warn of hidden danger that they know, or should know of, ("careful of that loose wire, it can cause a shock."). But, they have no duty to inspect their property. Invitees- This is someone that the property owner invites to their property for business reasons, and the property owner owns them the highest duty of care. The property owns them a duty to take care to provide reasonably safe. Some States see this as a duty to warn of dangerous ("careful, that wire is loose there and could cause a shock"), or reasonably inspect and discover one's land for safety ("oh my, the last step on my porch is rotten through and could collapse at any second and break someone's ankle!"). So, now to the whole "slipping" incident. I don't know where exact someone walking on the sidewalk infront of your house will fall in the category. Might be one of the exceptions to the Trespasser. So, the property owner will owe a very minimum duty to the injured person. But, there are still scenarios that could bring about a lawsuit. Like, the property owner getting out their hose, spraying down the sidewalk so that there's extra ice. Or, the City mandating that the property owner has the duty to shelve their sidewalk, thus the slip and fall is a failure of that duty. However, the property owner is going to be on the hook for the damages- broken ankle, sprained wrist, whatever. Finally, in your scenario, it sounds like you're more proposing that someone entered your property beyond the "sidewalk." In that case, you owe them the same duty that you owe a trespasser. Also, with you suing them for trespassing, you're gonna need to show damages, or you'll want to get an injunctive relief- basically a court order telling them to stay the eff off. It’s not JUST an hour different sleep, it’s the whole daily schedule that is different. The light that is different. Your circadian rhythm is seriously affected for the entire day, multiple days, in fact, not just that hour of sleep. People with irregular schedules are obviously less affected. Also saying “oh their bodies are just weak” is kinda rude, people do genuinely get more heart failures during daylight savings because forcabily changing your circadian rhythm is just that heavy on the nervous system. I get extremely sick too. Yes, sickly people get affected the hardest, but people with underlying risk may not even know how at risk they are. Even healthy people are less focussed, so yeah, tons of car crashes. Smallant is lucky to have such a healthy body (and mind!) to the point where irregular sleep doesn’t even affect him in the slightest. That’s a very lucky privilege. I wonder if it’s going to come back to bite him when he ages. But looking at his past and his current condition, I bet he won’t notice any physical problems until he’s at least 70 years old. And if mindfulness works on him, he’s mentally unstoppable.

Im so sad that when I played exploreres of darkness as a kid I started skipping dialogue after the first few chapters, because i dont remember any of this and I had like all the legendaries you could recruit so I think I pretty much beat the game.
It genuinely had a great story, too. Especially to experience as a kid, having some experience with Pokemon games already, I didn't expect as much as I got. Grovyle's loss hit way too damn hard, but made me come to love that mon so much as a result. RIP the GOATvyle

Smant just walking around the npcs mid dungeon is really stress inducing when doing so makes you lose hunger ingame

you can use orbs in a monster house. I use Petri orbs for every single one I encounter.
Thing is I used an orb in a boss room and it utterly screwed me so I never used em ever. They're like X items in the base game.

Part of which is whether the property owner has neglected the state of their property, whether they put known hazard on it, why the person who fell was even on the property, the injured the person is (if the person just got a bruised, then there'll be no reasonable point in suing and everyone will laugh at you), and any insurance (medical, home, etc) involved.

@@alejandropastorcuesta2543 Please keep in mind is that the US and the vast majority of other countries have different remedies. So, at times suing isn't so much suing the individual, but the insurance company (house insurance here, or even health insurance) so that the person can recover from their injury.
Now, there are pros and cons to both systems that the US and other countries implement. The US's system is supposed to help with self-advocacy, recovering medical cost, and as a discouragement for dangerous practices. A lot of tort law, which is where these scenarios sit with a nice sprinkle of property law, is historically shaped by people getting hurt due to a business acting negligently. Thus, the common person being able to sue the businesses provide an incentive to not act negligently or it could fuck them up.
Also, to note, a lot of the stereotype of the US needing "tort reform" and being overly litigious is propaganda by major corporations, because they don't want to pay out when they've done something stupid. Look at the McDonald Hot Coffee Incident as the perfect example of that.
Next, typically in US law, there are three types of people who enter another's property.
Trespassers- someone who enters another person's property without permission. The property owner owns them the lowest duty- basically none. But, there are exceptions. A property owner cannot have a booby trap design to hurt trespassers. There are also exceptions for children trespassers. And exceptions for "known" trespassers.
For an example: if a property is a shortcut for hikers to a destination or if it is a common path for school children. Once a property owner is aware of the common use of their land by trespassers, they then have a legal obligation to warn these trespassers of hazards.
Licensees- This is someone that the property owner invites to their property but for none-business means. Think of friends and family. The property owner must warn of hidden danger that they know, or should know of, ("careful of that loose wire, it can cause a shock."). But, they have no duty to inspect their property.
Invitees- This is someone that the property owner invites to their property for business reasons, and the property owner owns them the highest duty of care. The property owns them a duty to take care to provide reasonably safe. Some States see this as a duty to warn of dangerous ("careful, that wire is loose there and could cause a shock"), or reasonably inspect and discover one's land for safety ("oh my, the last step on my porch is rotten through and could collapse at any second and break someone's ankle!").
So, now to the whole "slipping" incident. I don't know where exact someone walking on the sidewalk infront of your house will fall in the category. Might be one of the exceptions to the Trespasser. So, the property owner will owe a very minimum duty to the injured person. But, there are still scenarios that could bring about a lawsuit. Like, the property owner getting out their hose, spraying down the sidewalk so that there's extra ice. Or, the City mandating that the property owner has the duty to shelve their sidewalk, thus the slip and fall is a failure of that duty. However, the property owner is going to be on the hook for the damages- broken ankle, sprained wrist, whatever.
Finally, in your scenario, it sounds like you're more proposing that someone entered your property beyond the "sidewalk." In that case, you owe them the same duty that you owe a trespasser. So, outside of booby traps, or them being a known trespasser, you'll be safe.
Also, with you suing them for trespassing, you're gonna need to show damages, or you'll want to get an injunctive relief- basically a court order telling them to stay the eff off.

It’s not JUST an hour different sleep, it’s the whole daily schedule that is different. The light that is different. Your circadian rhythm is seriously affected for the entire day, multiple days, in fact, not just that hour of sleep. People with irregular schedules are obviously less affected.
Also saying “oh their bodies are just weak” is kinda rude, people do genuinely get more heart failures during daylight savings because forcabily changing your circadian rhythm is just that heavy on the nervous system. I get extremely sick too. Yes, sickly people get affected the hardest, but people with underlying risk may not even know how at risk they are. Even healthy people are less focussed, so yeah, tons of car crashes.
Smallant is lucky to have such a healthy body (and mind!) to the point where irregular sleep doesn’t even affect him in the slightest. That’s a very lucky privilege.
I wonder if it’s going to come back to bite him when he ages. But looking at his past and his current condition, I bet he won’t notice any physical problems until he’s at least 70 years old. And if mindfulness works on him, he’s mentally unstoppable.

Im so sad that when I played exploreres of darkness as a kid I started skipping dialogue after the first few chapters, because i dont remember any of this and I had like all the legendaries you could recruit so I think I pretty much beat the game.
It genuinely had a great story, too. Especially to experience as a kid, having some experience with Pokemon games already, I didn't expect as much as I got. Grovyle's loss hit way too damn hard, but made me come to love that mon so much as a result. RIP the GOATvyle

- God, him trying to be funny and speak the dialogues in funny voices removes any emotional investment from the dialogues, I just feel like fast forwarding story sections because of that, he's already not invested in the story in the 1st place and this makes it worse. I wish there is a UA-camr who plays this game and does not do these goofy voices to recite the dialogue, I don't know who finds it funny. You don't even have to read the dialogues out loud at all.
