Zhou Shen had formal musical training from a Ukraine University where he scored grade A. His voice is amazingly pure and angelic, full of emotion. The Musical 'CAT' 'Memory' sounds heart breaking and despairing, but Zhou Shen's version of Memory sounds hopeful . You should also react to his cover song ' Monster ', Time to say Goodbye, ' Vincent', ' The Lonely Goatherd ', 'Scarborough's Fair', ' You raise Me Up ', 'Carmen' , etc.

Hate to be nit picking, but it is the Lonely Goatherd that Julie Andrews sang in the Sound of Music. The rest of the comments were correct. It really is a fun, up beat performance. Loved your reaction. Another performance is Think of Me from Phantom of the Opera. He was also in Singer, 2020, where he has fun with Monsters, Baby Goodbye, and another song where he shows off 4 different voices while telling the story of a hero with a long name, a dragon, with a long name, and rescuing a princess. The purpose of this programme is to raise the awareness of musicals singing and acting. Some are professional and some are still student. Apart from Zhu Shen is a singer and his voice has never broken. I believe the programs manage to do that.

You are misinformed if you think Zhou Shen did not have professional training. He graduated from a university in Ukrane majoring in music, and went back to China and was trained by a famous music instructor. He's truly a professional performer. You should look up his muti-language song "Let it Go" He sang it in 9 languages. And those 9 are not the only languages he knows. By the way, his English name is Charlie Zhou.

In the video, there was a comment that perhaps Zhou Shen did not have vocal training. That was not the case, Zhou Shen had his training in Ukrain at Lviv National Music Academy (Founded 1853). That's why he can sing in Ukrain and Russia. He sang the song "Let It Go" sung in 7 foreign languages + Chinese + Cantonese (a Chinese dialect)

That said, my favorite thing about Zhou Shen is the incredible quality of his vibratos. We find something like this with Angela Chang and Wu Qingfeng, but the vibratos of Zhou Shen are downright hypnotic.

Hi, you wanted to know who are the Chiefs for Super Vocal season 1. They are 阿云嘎 (Ayunga), 郑云龙 (Zheng YunLong), 高天鹤 (Gao TianHe), 蔡程昱 (Cai ChengYu), 仝卓 (Tong Zuo), 王凯 (Wang Kai). The show has produced a Season 2 and there are six other Chiefs elated. If not for the Covid 19 outbreak, you should hear a lot about the Singing Tour of Super Vocal 2. The next season (Season 3) is likely to be Super Vocal for female (i.e, in other words, 36 lady singers will be invited to the show).

It is not true that Zhou Shen has had no musical training, Quite the opposite. He was strongly discouraged by his family from becoming a singer. He has a naturally high pitched voice and he is very small. He was bullied growing up for this and for his sometimes feminine mannerisms. He gave up his dream to become a singer and went to dental school after high school. He was discovered by a music teacher when he joined his university’s chorus. He was convinced to embrace his talent and attended the Lviv Academy of Music in Eastern Europe. This university is famous for its concentration on the bel canto tradition and Baroque music. You may recognize that this music is devoted especially to males who sing in the soprano range and particularly to the noted castrati such as Farinelli. After graduating from this Institute, Zhou Shen returned to China where he studied with music coaches from the Peking opera. There he learned to sing in the tradition of the male singers who sang female parts in classical Chinese opera. Zhou Shen bring to his singing of popular music some of the best of the classical traditions of east and west. You can hear his training in his musical range, his facility with changing octaves and tones, his use of breath as he learned from Chinese opera, and his intonation and ability to pour emotion into words which comes from the Bel Canto tradition. He is something of a musical genius with extraordinary talents and fine training.

Shortly - there were 36 participants every week 6 were choosen as principals (opera term). Every week they were put in different constellations choosing their partners and practically having to arrange the songs suiting their voices. The "winners" were again 6 with the overall best placements during the show. Definitely would recommend Ayunga, Wang Xi and Zheng Yunlong but there is not one singer that would not blew you away
Zhou Shen's Think of Me, he has five performances so far (if I remember correctly)

Speaking of Super Vocal 声入人心, the program was based on classical music, where gathered 36 competitors from different music schools around the world through the re-arranging and cross-border combination of Bel Canto, musicals, opera, pop and folk music in order to subvert the stereotype and make more audiences accept the elegant music. There’s no elimination in the program, instead 36 competitors were gonna fight on the stage for the Final 6, who will be invited to a national tour around China after the program and get the opportunity to release albums.
Just in time for the new season of the SINGER is on the air, when SUPER VOCAL became a sensation on social media in China. Since both programs were made by the same TV station, they chose 4 from the finalists to team up temporarily for the SINGER as challenger in episode 6.

He pulled out from the SINGER due to the schedule clash of the musical, where he sighed the contract before SINGER, while he was not chosen to participate the SINGER yet.

【蔡程昱 CAI Chengyu】21 y.o., tenor. He is a senior in Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He is able to reach the High C effortlessly so the audiences even gave him a name “Golden Tenor”.
The boys did a fantastic job, beat the challenges, got into the finale and won the 3rd. place! It was absolutely not easy for newbies, especially when you were competing with so many well-known veteran singers, not even to mention Liu Huan, The Godfather of China’s pop music.

He was trained to sing tenor back in college but taught himself to sing otherwise.
He is the no.1 in the Super Vocal show in my heart. He was not in group of top six in the show maybe because he was absence few times from the show for other pre-arranged performance (as he is a professional singer). You know, game is game, judges have their own preferences even there are judging criteria, at last, their choices were according to their preferences. You may listen Wangxi, Ayunga, Cheng Yun Lung etc in this show. They are also great.

How many languages can you talk? It sounds you talked several country's languages.
This was nice but I liked Time To Say Goodbye better. He's pleasant to listen to and seems like a really nice guy. His voice is very unique/unusual for a guy. As many say, he sounds like a girl. So, I guess it depends on if you would rather just listen to a girl sound like a girl or you prefer watching a guy sound like a girl. Personally, I prefer watching a girl who sounds like a girl once the novelty wears off. This is because, if he were an actual girl singing like this I don't think we would be placing him very high. There are many girl singers today who are much better singers than Zhou Shen.
He actually can sing male voice. You should search more, maybe his performance in college. He graduated from Ivan Franco in Ukraine.in this song, he also displayed his male voice part.
