One of the best flights I have seen, what a gift to be able to see the Northern Lights from the plane! Thank you for sharing your travels, many greetings and much success in everything :)!
this Q re-view is made possible by a chicken sandwich and a brownie, this quickly became one of my favorite videos to re-watch. so sit back, grab a coke with ice and a fruit and cheese platter and watch the northern lights, then hit the like and the sub button. no doubt about this video earning a well-done Quebec Foxtrot Sierra and thanks for sharing!!
My county (Suffolk) was top 5 in most cases in the country, but at the time nobody was aware of it. There were some rumors going around that the county would be shut down to outsiders, and since it’s my home (where family and close ones are) I decided to cut the trip short and not take any chances
thanks for the trip report...i was in fairbanks when i was in the airforce reserves...flew up to Eielson Air Force Base from grissom afb indiana on a KC135A..which is the trip i got some cool refueling shots...took the base bus to FAI where a old friend picked me up...drove up to see the pipeline...things have changed alot over the years
As always, I love watching your videos, they’re amazing, especially seeing the northern lights.. I’ve been to Fairbanks before, but I wasn’t that lucky about the aurora! haha
Ooh, old livery! Don't get to see those anymore. I should make a video on how I was able to hack my Alaska miles so much that they closed my account! LOL - Red
i fly up to ketchikan quite a bit, they're always using those old liveries! i don't think i've ever flown a 737 w/ the new livery when traveling to alaska.
QFS Aviation..: I think you should do a video trip on Alaska airlines again going from SEA to FAI nonstop prior to winter time and see it for myself and others for experience in Fairbanks…
How did you get from ANC to FAI? Good choice to preselect your meal since you had that bout with food poisoning earlier. The ending was a surprise--seeing as you wanted to get back to Long Island as quickly as possible, figured you'd be taking a redeye from Seattle nonstop but here you are,at baggage claim, overnighting!
Could you do a trip report on French Bee airlines? I’ve searched them up and can’t find any. Kinda weird but it’s be interesting to finally see a actual trip report like yours for that airline.
Really spectacular footage of the aurora borealis before you wisely decided to get back home to shelter in place. Thank you for yet another really enjoyable trip report. I wonder: Do you think the F fare is worth the cost on AS? I'm now convinced that AS's F product is totally uncompetitive, considering: (1) unimpressive seating; (2) phony IFE (handing out iPads - really???); (3) utterly disappointing catering. I remember being served hot meals in AS's F cabin (admittedly, a long time ago). Am I the only guy who thinks AS needs to do a lot better for an F fare? For me, their Premium Economy is a pretty good deal for longer flights - great seat pitch, earlier boarding, free alcoholic drinks. AND you can buy the same fruit-and-cheese platter that you were served in F for about $6 (less if you pay w/an AS BofA VISA card).
It was absolutely amazing! I’m surprised you haven’t seen them yet since you’re based up in Canada. I saw them in February from YWG-YVR on an early morning flight. Settings used for that shot were 2” f/2.8. I can’t remember the ISO since that was on auto, but I could check if you want. Body was A7r3 with a 16-15f2.8 GM 👌
@@QFSAviation yeah ironic isn't it haha, I don't do much flying up north, most of my flights out of Canada are either down to the states or westbound to Asia. Thanks so much for the info! It's all good, appreciate it!
Hey Q ... good move on eating in the restaurant ahead of time 👍🏻. Did the meal taste as good as it looked? Awesome job capturing the Northern Lights 😉. I have to say, I’m not at all impressed whatsoever with Alaskan Airlines First Class meals ... very cheap and it seems the only thing they know is chicken sandwich, chips, an a piece of chocolate. 🙄. Stay safe!
There's not much standardization when it comes to airline class categories. A lot depends on which countries are involved as well as the duration of the flight, so the terms are not too meaningful. I recently watched a video of a Delta 2-hour domestic flight in first class, and it included full IFE and a delicious-looking steak dinner. Alaskan doesn't do IFE and you wouldn't trust their food, but it was still "first class". I'm glad you made it home before the COVID-19 shutdown.
you definitely make me want to add the Northern Lights to my bucket list. hell I'd like to go anywhere right now if it wasn't for this covid-19 shit. this the first time you ever showed getting your bag off the carousel? haha or maybe I'm just goofy. anyway well done on your report thanks for sharing, be safe my friend
Alaska *has* had airplanes with IFE built into the seats.......they just said "Virgin America" on the side for a while, and they've torn most of those seats out. A pity, too - their first class seats were ~baller~.
March 12th, 2020 the day the sports world stopped due to COVID-19. Rudy Gobert for the Utah Jazz tested positive for the coronavirus the night before and the NBA suspended the season as a result. I personally preferred the old livery. It brings back my childhood in Oregon and Washington. Now, it’s to different. They should have at least kept the font.

QFS Aviation Good afternoon.
@QFSAviation Are you from Seattle or New York City?
QFS Aviation Nice
QFS Aviation Wow! I remember being at FAI, I got Starbucks and a gift there, but didn’t see any of the northern lights unfortunately. Great work!
Omaha has cool sunsets
I believe a q&a video will be a very happy addition to your videos list

You would be safer in Alaska than New York, also that northern lights clip was awesome!
