    Plus the "bad content" you pointed out aren't bad at all. They are just not made for you, they are made for 8 year olds. In that sense they are great videos that cater to their audience. Of course it wont appeal to you, doesnt make them bad.

    • @aschike

      I guess they could be considered bad from a creative standpoint, even if it is for 8 year olds "noob vs pro vs hacker" is creatively bankrupt.

      @@aschike yes i can see that. I guess it comes down to your definition of what good content is. in my opinion, if your video is able to satisfy the wants of your intended audience then it is good content. Since we are talking about UA-cam here, I think that's the best way to approach the definition of "good content" as it is more nuanced and takes into account a wide variety of factors. Now that I think about it, the original video maker is right in some ways. Sometimes objectively bad videos are the ones that are popular, but then again I still wouldn't call them bad content since they are good to their audience. I also wouldn't say their success has a whole lot to do with luck (there definitely is some element of luck, im not denying that), which is what the guy in the video is heavily implying. its more about knowing your audience and catering to them.

      @@playz8538 yeah I think your are right. Above all else, youtube videos are supposed to be entertaining, so even if the formula is saturated, as long as they provide entertainment for their audiences they could be considered (objectively) good content. But when it comes down to their value (their creativity, uniqueness etc.) children's content fall behind pretty bad, and even those who are not intended for children suffer from this the same way, it's impossible to claim 100 days video and the bunch do not contribute to the saturation of minecraft content just as much.

    I really think the main problem is just the sheer amount of Minecraft content that is available. As such it is just really hard to get noticed unless you either have an already established audience or get blessed by the inscrutable whims of the algorithm.
    As such, I don't think Minecraft content is dead. Quite the opposite in fact, the issue is that Minecraft content is 'too alive'. There is just so many people making it that it becomes hard to stand out.

    Edit: i was talking about jingle jangle, but now that ive seen ending soon's videos i believe that the bias that you have because of being friends with them is clouding your judgement. Ending soon's thumbnails alone are not appealing whatsoever, much less the video itself. Honestly seeing you using his videos as a example makes your opinion less credible either because you are too biased or dont have a good idea what good content is. No offense, nothing personal against anyone of yall, just saying it as i see it.

    I think that making high quality content is banking on people sharing it with others, not a surefire way to make them blow up. People click on trendy things and minecraft, well... Also, I think that you shouldn't look at views as just numbers, in the end they are all living, breathing people who decide to spend time watching what you've created, I feel like people are too caught up in numbers to forget they're dealing with people.

      @@Panguk well because if it hasn't there was something wrong with the video
      A lot of the examples you showed may have been good, but being good is subjective. I've seen channels blow up and get nearly 1 million views on their first upload and others blowing up after one viral video. UA-cam isn't just about the video
      It's also about marketing. Supply and demand
      You may find the videos to be good however the mass appeal just doesn't. The examples of your friends videos also shows a bias. I think my friends videos are good but I also know that theres probably something wrong with the way they package the video or the market.
      Just take a look at Barnes or MixToons. Both new minecraft creators who blew up after a good video, good packaging and good market timing

    hey, I don't want to hate, but I absolutely disagree. I checked out your friend and your videos, and the views are up to standard. it's just the fact that it's a big market, so to make it you genuinely have to put in years of work and dedication. I know a lot of big minecraft youtubers personally as friends (this is an alt I'm typing from, I myself am a pretty successful one) and it's not easy to make it in the minecraft space I agree, but small youtubers are usually quick to give up and don't take their time, now I'm not the one to judge idk how much work you guys put in. and you might think you have to edit a certain way or make certain videos to make it, but that's not true lol, consistency and dedication is key. it's often the ideas, the thumbnails and AVD. for example your friends video's thumbnail was pretty bad, the idea was very typical (I'd even say 2.3k views for that video is extremely well for the thumbnail, idea and video) and the video itself is probably boring to many and is only appealing to a small market (he probably could've found the target audience, but it would've taken a longer time) the reason your friends other video blew up is because there was a gap in the market for that game, people request content for it, but there aren't many who make that content. your friend made an accidentally smart move there lol. I would say minecraft content is far from dead from a creator stand point, it's just that people don't know what to make. even us bigger creators we stick to what we know and that itself works only 80% of the time. and there are plenty of smaller youtubers filling a gap in the market (example- Niko, narration minecraft lets play) to blow up in a saturated market you need top-notch videos. you have to look for a gap in the market. However if you're looking to grow an extremely loyal audience, a slow growing channel is actually perfect lol, a lot of big youtubers wish they would've taken it slow, because they now realize they don't actually have an actual audience. I say make what you want to make whether that would be minecraft or other games, both will work out in the end if you just put in the time & effort & stay dedicated to the craft. wish you guys the best in your creator journey, maybe I'll see you in the big leagues one day❤😄

    • @Panguk
      @Panguk  Місяць тому

      your point about him filling the gap in the market was basically the same as my point about how minecraft content is overflowing. there are little to no gaps in the minecraft content market, which makes it easier to make content that blows up on other games.

      @ballincat43_official Місяць тому

      @@Panguk I didn't watch the video all the way through lol. But yeah I mean minecraft is such a big game it's hard to find a gap in the market, there's people who did and did it recently however, but it takes a lot of creativity and time to figure such stuff out. there's this 1 creator, idk his name, but he does minecraft shorts like "guess the block/mob/item" which is very original and he took off instantly, also CheapPickle is a good example, he stood out in a saturated market with a terrible mic and just doing fun stuff with friends that can all be cut down into both shorts and long-form. I wouldn't call that gap in the market fully, but it has it's own charm for sure. it's extremely hard to blow up in the minecraft niche with an alright video, a youtuber I coach legit has the stats of videos that should be getting 100s of thousands of views but barely cracks a few thousand lol. but there also are cases in which a simple video that just has a standing out thumbnail and idea can blow up. whatever you do in this space has to be consistent, stand out. all there is to it. I'm lucky enough to just love the game and not youtube. here's a saying for you and your other youtuber friends that I have developed with other youtubers - "don't do something to become a youtuber, do youtube to do more of that something." also whatever you do make sure YOU like it, I like Casey Neistat's interviews, a host once asked him "how do you hook the viewer, how do you make your stories appealing to the viewer" and Casey just said "I don't care about the viewer, if I like it I do it". that's what I love about youtube, stay consistent in doing what you love, the start will be slow, WILL take you years, but once you gain momentum, your dreams will come true. remember a ton of your favorite creators have probably had many channels before hand, many failed attempts and many years of putting in that work. Again, if you do youtube because you actually love it, don't make it a chore for yourself ;). I wish I could give you all the advice in the world, but if I had to leave 1 final message on how to be yourself since that is everyones "#1 tip" - don't try to be too authentic, because that is when it becomes inauthentic, it's about being yourself unapologetically.
