Simply fantastic. My phone dropped in water for about one minute. Once it was dried, it was working normally, but after 5 hours it switched off by itself and it was no possible to switch it on. I have followed step by step this tutorial and I managed to disassemble and put it back together without any problem. Now the phone works again. Really great tutorial. Thank you.
No problem, but keep in mind. For water damage, don't attempt to turn on the phone since you can short the parts. Take it apart, disconnect the battery. Dry any liquid inside and brush off any corrosion over chips or connectors, then re assemble the phone so you don't risk the board or other parts shorting down the line.
Absolute lifesaver, I did not know if it was an easy phone to repair or a glue-built nightmare but this video made me buy a replacement screen. My phone dropped off the roof of my car at ~60 kmh and got run over by another face down but only the top layer of glass shattered leaving the screen and digitizer completely functional. The quality for price on this phone still blows my mind after 4 months of ownership.

This is one of easiest battery swappable phone on market. Plastic back prying without fear of cracking. And pull tabs for easy removal of battery. Even normal users can do that when their phones out of warranty. 👍
Amazing video! On 1:41 you removed a flex cable of Fingerprint Sensor, right? 1) The Power Button and Volume Buttons still works if I remove that? Is there a separate circuit for Power and Volume? 2) I've notice some people telling the Fingerprint Sensor is the same as Redmi Note 9 PRO, but with a different shape of flex cable, do you know? I'm asking because my fingerprint sensor is broken and there's nowhere on internet that I can buy it. Thanks for your video and any kind of help.
Yes thats the flex cable for it, if you disconnect it the power button will not work. The volume up and down has a separate flex which sits underneath the board. The board sits on top of that flex cable and the contacts make a connection. You will see that flex cable @2:43 in the video.

@@PBKreviews Hi, so I just finished replacing my volume rocker and power buttons, and for the sake of anyone that wants to do the same I just want to say that you don't have to remove the motherboard and battery. You just gotta remove the back plate and the thin rubber strip at the left side of the frame, get the power button ribbon free by removing that other black ribbon on top of it (1:11), then you can get the power button out and put the new one in. Gotta be careful though because you have to bend the ribbon at two points in that tiny channel where that black rubber strip was. As for the volume rocker, it's just a matter of jamming it in from the outside after the rubber strip has been removed. I had to replace my volume rocker because it broke in half and fell out of the frame after a bad fall, then decided to also replace the power button with a blue one because mine was black, for aesthetic purposes 😂😂😂😂
Hi, I think it would be possible but I am not 100% sure. The connectors and locations seem to be the same. But I don't have either phone anymore to try it.
It is adhered to that plastic cover on the top portion. It helps transfer heat away from the main board to the back plate. If your's came off then you would probably want to apply some adhesive to a small portion of it to keep it in place over the top plastic cover as you see it in the video.
Does the back cover have some kind of a clip or something to attach to or is it simply being attached using an adhesive? Wanted to open mine but I'm afraid to open the back cover. Might not be able to put it back again. Please respond. Thank you Nice video by the way. SUBSCRIBED!

Hi before you done this teardown did you notice a camera lens movement a little? My new Poco x3 pro back camera lens is moving a little. I dont know if thats normal
I think it should be normal. Usually there is slight room in the base of the camera assembly for slight movement as well as the lens in the housing as well.

Thank you for the video. Can water seep in through the earpiece? There is a hole on top of the phone. Also the back of the phone vibrates while playing audio. Does that mean water can seep in through the earpiece speaker?
No problem. The phone has an IP53 rating so it doesn't make it water proof but splash resistant meaning you can't dunk the phone in water and expect it to survive. The hole on the top is for the secondary microphone. There are filters usually in place to prevent dust/water getting in through those holes. Hope this helps.
@@PBKreviews Thanks for the prompt response. I was concerned about the additional hole for the speaker on the top of the device, not the microphone hole.
@@ThisuraYapa The phone has already been taken apart so the adhesive seal wont be the same as originally. I will consider doing durability type tests in the future.
Does its main camera have OIS or not? I'm seeing some websites mention that it does, and others mentioning it doesn't. Great video, very detailed and helpful.
thanks for the helpful video. Btw, how to remove top speaker and its flex cable, also the sensor. For me, I have to transfer parts to its new frame with lcd. Thanks.
You're welcome. The earpiece speaker is held down with adhesive, you can heat it up and gently pry it off. The flex cable same way, you can use a thin tool to gently get under the flex cable and pry it off the frame carefully so you dont tear it. Same for the proximity sensor flex cable.
Great video. Nice camera angles, very well done. Question maybe someone can help me? My glass cracked do I have to purchase a new screen and digitizer? Can I just replace the glass? Also do I have ro remove everything as you did to replace it? Thanks in advance, I can't find much about screen replacement that is in English and understandable so any help is appreciated.
Hi, you would need to replace the entire screen assembly if the glass on the screen is cracked. You would need to remove the back plate and remove the screws and top plastic cover, disconnect the battery cable and volume key cable as well as the flex cable that leads from the main board to the sub board or charger port board on bottom. Then you would need to remove the battery to gain access to the screen cable and you would need to pry off your old screen from the frame, get your new screen, apply new adhesive and run your cable back through the opening in the midframe, apply your new screen and reconnected the screen cable to the main board and re assemble the phone.
You're welcome. No its aluminium just might not be as reinforced or as strong as other phones etc. Just because that reviewer was able to bend the phone doesn't make it plastic. The mid frame center is aluminum and has plastic around the borders. :)
Yes taking it apart will break the water resistance if any. But if you use an original precut adhesive tape (if available on the market) to re attach the back plate, then you should retain the water resistance and have no issue.
Great video. Opened it many times, it's a great phone to repair, except for the battery glue. Poco X3 is honestly too big, wish it was a bit thinner and smaller.
Please tell me, is it necessary to apply new thermal grease to the place where it was, between main board and copper pipe, or it's enough to just assemble back all? And if it's necessary, can you recommend which exactly thermal grease needed? Thank You 🙏.
Yeah its best to apply new thermal paste if you take it apart. There are many kinds out there, you can google to see which is better but avoid using highly conductive ones. Use one that has low or no conductivity since if it leaks or gets around anywhere, it can short your phone if its conductive. I'm not sure which is best to recommend you one.
Wait a while ! 2:04 the main camera moves and its a EIS not OIS, indeed this phone has a strange good stabilization maybe cauz of that "moving" technique even if its not OPTICAL stabilozation appelation
This got me thinking if it's possible to swap the main cameras between Poco X3(64mp) and Poco X3 pro(48mp). Would the 64mp camera work on Poco X3 pro which originally had the 48mp camera.
It's possible, I didn't try it but the size of the connectors and location seem to all be the same so might work. Not sure 100% if the software will read it but won't know till you try I guess.
@@PBKreviews oh. That's unfortunate, It got me excited though. I Hope you still get the opportunity to try it though. Will be waiting for more of your vids.
Hi, you would remove the back cover, then the screws on the top plastic cover and remove that top plastic cover. Next disconnect the battery cable and the two flex cables which go over the battery and then you would be able to use the pull tabs on the battery to pry the battery off and replace it.
I actually love the "conciseness" you do have and you "teach us". It should be first priority quality-parameter of a video. Not sure if I am clear, you get what I am saying.
I followed this guide step-by-step, but after reassembly, the phone does not turn on easily(I have to spam the power button, process system not responding), and the audio becomes extremely distorted when I tighten rhe screws on the motherboard cover. Any ideas on how to fix this?
You would need to take off the back plate, as well as remove the top plastic cover over the main board and remove the battery so you will have access to disconnecting and removing the screen cable.
@@clover9545 the only thing I can think of is it would lose the original adhesive seal on the back plate unless an original pre cut adhesive seal was used again to seal it up.
For you is it possible to put the SD860 chip of Poco X3 pro in the Poco X3 NFC, or put the Sony IMX 682 and other cameras of the X3 NFC and replace the Cameras of the X3 Pro.
I don't have the skills to do that type of work. But if you are asking if its possible, not sure as far as processor goes. For cameras, it may be possible if the connectors are the same and they sit in the same way inside the phone but it might run into software issues as well.
My SIM tray ejection needle broke inside, when trying to open the tray. How do I take it from there? Basically all I need is to extract the broken piece.
@@PBKreviews Thanks for your response. That's what I thought. I was just interested where the NFC antenna is located because I cannot find it anywhere online.
I changed my charging port board because it was fired down before due to the bloated battery. I replaced it and my signal it not responsive like before. What should I change? The wifi signal antenna or the charging port board again?
Hello, I have a problem on the screen around the camera, it is a green stain sometimes it is lost, and sometimes it gets darker, I don't know how it happened or why that stain came out. please help.
Hmm not sure might be moisture or some sort of liquid that got in. Only way to clean it is to open the back plate and gain entry to the front facing camera to clean it. If its not to big a deal, its best to leave it alone so you don't remove the original adhesive seal around the back plate.
My poco x3 fell into a pool. It won't turn on. I'm wondering if I can retrieve my photos by tearing it down? Where is the harddrive/memory card? Is it in the motherboard?
The battery top cover would have to be taken apart to reveal the control board since the positive and negative connect to a control board which then connects via the flex cable to the motherboard. That would mean probably damaging the battery and also I don't have the phone anymore since its been a while that I did the video.
I really want to know how the power button remove or something, i dropped my poco x3 the only part got dented is in the power button. Now it sinked and keeps on turning on and off, pls help what should i do?
Once you take off the back plate/cover, there is a rubber insert covering the flex cables which go for the power button on the midframe. You remove that and you should have access to taking out the flex cable as well as pushing in the button inward into the frame to get it removed if I am not mistaken. Just be careful you don't tear or damage the cable.
@PBKreviews PLEASE please please do you or does anyone here know what the cable at 1:35 is called? Mine is ripped and my phone won't come on without it replaced :( phone shop cant help so if anyone knows the name of that cable so I can find a replacement I would greatly appreciate it . Thanks:)
Thats a coaxial cable. You would need to find one that is same length, can be from a different phone probably but as long as length is same, should work.
@@creamxsoda ya but you run into the problem of how to fit it in to be able to put all the covers and stuff back in place. Since usually there isnt much extra room to tuck the extra cable in.
Hello i have some experience opening this phone, but i got a problem i dont know why happens My poco x3 nfc only charges without the black part covering the mainboard/camera, i tried everything. you know what could be?
It can be a few things. One maybe some metal part that is not suppose to touch the frame is being pressed down and touching it causing it to short n not work or the connector for it is either damaged or the flex cable for the charger port is damaged so when its being pressed down when that cover is over it, it causes it not to work.

@@ThisuraYapa No problem. Usually all the holes have filters on the inside of the phone to prevent dust or debris from getting in.
@@PBKreviews Thanx. Can you do a video showing a water splash test on the poco x3 and then disassembling it to see how good the IP53 rating is?
@@ThisuraYapa The phone has already been taken apart so the adhesive seal wont be the same as originally. I will consider doing durability type tests in the future.
Does its main camera have OIS or not? I'm seeing some websites mention that it does, and others mentioning it doesn't. Great video, very detailed and helpful.
Hi, No I don't believe it does. It had almost no movement so there was no stabilizers from what I was able to tell. Thank you :)
The 64mp main "camera" is fake.
Is this metal alumnium frame?
Yes its aluminum
thanks for the helpful video.
@@PBKreviews yes! Thanks for the help man. Much appreciated
Thank you very much for the video. I saw on some reviewers page that the indian varient has plastic frame, is that true?
You're welcome. No its aluminium just might not be as reinforced or as strong as other phones etc. Just because that reviewer was able to bend the phone doesn't make it plastic. The mid frame center is aluminum and has plastic around the borders. :)
Thank you for your information 😊
Now I'm at peace😊

Very good video.. great to see budget phone teardowns.. subscribed
Thank you, I appreciate the support.
Does it break the water resistance?
Yes taking it apart will break the water resistance if any. But if you use an original precut adhesive tape (if available on the market) to re attach the back plate, then you should retain the water resistance and have no issue.
Great video. Opened it many times, it's a great phone to repair, except for the battery glue. Poco X3 is honestly too big, wish it was a bit thinner and smaller.
Please help me, where is located the memory (data storage) on motherboard? Thanks
nice content watching this on my poco x3 nfc ❤️
Thanks!
Thank you for this analytically video. It helps me to change the main camera with zoom failure. ;-)
You're welcome :)
Hello good video, a query is the poco x3 NFC or the poco x3, because look at the battery it said 6000 mha
Thank you. I would go for the X3 not the X3 NFC since the X3 has a larger battery.
@@PBKreviews Thanks for answering, yes of course but the video is the Poco X3? not the one that is NFC
@@FiliAntonio1 no problem and yes its the x3, not the nfc
@@PBKreviews Thanks for the clarification I imagined it for the mha of the battery. Greetings I will be attentive to your videos
@@FiliAntonio1 No problem, thank you :)
Thank you so much for this video 👍🏻👌🏻
You're welcome
Wait a while ! 2:04 the main camera moves and its a EIS not OIS, indeed this phone has a strange good stabilization maybe cauz of that "moving" technique even if its not OPTICAL stabilozation appelation
From what I've understood, just because it moves does not mean it has OIS.
@@PBKreviews And if it does work, that means we can actually upgrade lol. I hope it works if you happen to try. 😁
@@justineemmanuelbolario6904 I would but I don't have the phones anymore unfortunately.
@@PBKreviews oh. That's unfortunate, It got me excited though. I Hope you still get the opportunity to try it though. Will be waiting for more of your vids.

Hello, I wanted to change the battery, for this, what exactly should I remove? To change the battery exactly ?
Hi, you would remove the back cover, then the screws on the top plastic cover and remove that top plastic cover. Next disconnect the battery cable and the two flex cables which go over the battery and then you would be able to use the pull tabs on the battery to pry the battery off and replace it.
@@PBKreviews ок thanks 🙏
Excellently done sir
Thank you!
Excellent @PBKreviews,
Thanks for the guide!
You're welcome :)
I actually love the "conciseness" you do have and you "teach us". It should be first priority quality-parameter of a video.
Not sure if I am clear, you get what I am saying.
@@georgetsakoumakos1766 Thank you, I appreciate it. Glad I am able to be of help.
I followed this guide step-by-step, but after reassembly, the phone does not turn on easily(I have to spam the power button, process system not responding), and the audio becomes extremely distorted when I tighten rhe screws on the motherboard cover. Any ideas on how to fix this?
if replacing the lcd display do they have to remove everything?
You would need to take off the back plate, as well as remove the top plastic cover over the main board and remove the battery so you will have access to disconnecting and removing the screen cable.
thank you, is there any after effect if my phone will be opened?
@@clover9545 the only thing I can think of is it would lose the original adhesive seal on the back plate unless an original pre cut adhesive seal was used again to seal it up.
@@PBKreviews thank you very much.
@@clover9545 you're welcome
For you is it possible to put the SD860 chip of Poco X3 pro in the Poco X3 NFC, or put the Sony IMX 682 and other cameras of the X3 NFC and replace the Cameras of the X3 Pro.
I don't have the skills to do that type of work. But if you are asking if its possible, not sure as far as processor goes. For cameras, it may be possible if the connectors are the same and they sit in the same way inside the phone but it might run into software issues as well.
where is the accelometer located? my x3 had a bad fall and it's accelometer needs repair.
not sure exactly where its located.
Is the frame aluminum or plastic on this?
frame is aluminum
@@PBKreviews is it the NFC version? I need to take a look on the indian version which has that massive 6000mah battery.
@@timytimotius4679 it is the indian version you could see battery capacity as 6000mah in the video
@@timytimotius4679 It's not the NFC version
My SIM tray ejection needle broke inside, when trying to open the tray. How do I take it from there? Basically all I need is to extract the broken piece.
Have you tried a magnet to see if it will attract the broken pin out?
Where's the NFC antenna located?
This is not the Poco X3 NFC model this is just the Poco X3 which does not have NFC.
Like my 4G is always fake and whenever I have many mobile users around, my data is not functioning well.

The pros of plastic back, it doesn't crack when u accidentally drop or something
Yes! That's What I like About It.
The flex of the screen, the one with the camera below is damaged has a spare or I have to buy another screen, as you say there is a slit. Thank you
If the flex cable of the screen is damaged and doesn't work, the screen would need to be replaced. The cable alone is not replaceable.
@@PBKreviews Okay, thank you very much for the tip.

Do you have schematic or board view for this device? Please write me
Nope sorry
That little black cable on the bottom corner... Someone knows its function? Thanks
Great Video!
Can you guess the reason behind its heavy weight?
Thank you! Possibly the larger battery, and copper heat pipe add a bit of weight.
Hello, is the Poco X3 NFC display compatible with the Poco X3 Pro?
yo, what does the small cable wire do?
Hi, the coaxial cable wires are usually used to connect antennas.
My poco x3 fell into a pool. It won't turn on. I'm wondering if I can retrieve my photos by tearing it down? Where is the harddrive/memory card? Is it in the motherboard?
Hi, no it won't be possible. The onboard storage is soldered onto the motherboard.
@@PBKreviews i see, thanks for letting me know
sir, can you show where is the Positive and the negative pole of the battery?
The battery top cover would have to be taken apart to reveal the control board since the positive and negative connect to a control board which then connects via the flex cable to the motherboard. That would mean probably damaging the battery and also I don't have the phone anymore since its been a while that I did the video.
Bro if motherboard change oru phone does reeboot?
Hi, not sure what you mean by oru phone does reboot.
If i have some problems of hard ware of my phone, can u fix it ?
What do you mean? I don't do send in repairs if that is what you mean but can try n help you find parts for it online etc.
Mine is ripped and my phone won't come on without it replaced
:( phone shop cant help so if anyone knows the name of that cable so I can find a replacement I would greatly appreciate it . Thanks:)
Thats a coaxial cable. You would need to find one that is same length, can be from a different phone probably but as long as length is same, should work.
@@PBKreviews is it okay for it to be longer than the original? Sorry if that's a stupid question
@@PBKreviews also would not having the coaxial cable keep it from powering on?
@@creamxsoda ya but you run into the problem of how to fit it in to be able to put all the covers and stuff back in place. Since usually there isnt much extra room to tuck the extra cable in.
@@PBKreviews I see. Thank you :) would the coaxial cable not being there keep it from powering on or might there be another prob?
Hello
i have some experience opening this phone, but i got a problem i dont know why happens
My poco x3 nfc only charges without the black part covering the mainboard/camera, i tried everything.
you know what could be?
It can be a few things. One maybe some metal part that is not suppose to touch the frame is being pressed down and touching it causing it to short n not work or the connector for it is either damaged or the flex cable for the charger port is damaged so when its being pressed down when that cover is over it, it causes it not to work.
My Poco x3 just stop çharging. What should I replace? The flex board or the whole charging board?
You would need to replace the bottom sub board/charger port board.
If will can able to change the processor chip(snapdragon 725g to snapdragon 855)
Would not be possible. You would need to replace the entire board.
