Wild fighters are the easiest to beat, but if you are a swarmer with solid power/technique and a good chin to go with it, you can be lethal. Two examples are Roberto Duran and Joe Calzaghe. Also Manny Pacquiao to an extent when he was in the lower weight divisions.
That's the thing. I pressure fight and throw alot of punches. Mainly straights if in on the outside and when I'm on the side mainly body shots and stay tight
why stay in the pocket and risk taking all that damage instead of L stepping/sidestepping/angling out and throwing a counter as you do so? I spar with a guy 80lbs heavier than me who machine guns with straight punches and rushes me and all I do is circle out and as I do, I either do light rapid fire jabs back at him with my close hand and guard my face with my other, or simply slip as I L step and throw a cross counter as I exit on an angle and then keep circling away til he gasses himself out and then I just unload when he's trying to catch his breath. The only time it doesn't work is if I panic, forget the footwork, and 'turn away' or if I don't react quickly enough. I'm new to sparring so that'll just take practice
Not every punch is going to be a hook, there can be jabs, straight rights, upper cuts, over right hands, kicks, elbows, knees, when shot gets real a good volume fighters can hurt you

This is dumb, i think he’s trying to explain how to beat a volume puncher but expecting a experienced volume puncher to just be throwing wild predictable and slow hooks is dumb they will be throwing from all angles at high speed waiting for you to try throw that counter and thats when the fast power shot comes

To be fair wild fighters like that for one, are not going to give you any opening when you pivot, and also, they run out of energy fast which is why you take it and then you have the upper hand
Then you don't start the fight to begin with if possible, run away, or take the whopping and hope for the best If you know you have no choice but to fight Don't leave it up to chance throw the first punch and aim for vital area's nuts, solar plexus, liver, shin kick, knee kick and so fourth etc...
Sorry man all do respect, your moved only work because your blocking and striking at twice the speed of that guy throwing hooks LOL... In real life nobody is throwing punches half the speed of your counters let alone only throwing perfectly alternating left right hooks... I understand this is a segue into more advanced tactics but this alone is fubar
i guess you should get out of the line of fire. move side to side while covering. i guess.. and reset. make the other person falls from your traps. well what do i know?. im just guy in the internet.. lol.
Main point is, if someone just flurries without meaning then he is easy to down but if he flurries with an objective, then it could be a problem

How so? Rocky Marciano retired undefeated and from one of his opponents own mouth he NEVER STOPPED PUNCHING

lots of punches but this is genuinely childrens speed. What about people who do the same but with incredible speed??
