We live in the suburbs but everything you spoke on is happening in Nashville. You’re doing the right thing getting out of there before the arguments turn to violence.
It really sucks when you think you've found a place that you love and it goes down hill fast. I understand how other people feel when we move in their neighborhoods and they're not happy or welcoming. It's because they know eventually they will have to move after living there for years and they really have a right to be angry about it. One thing I have observed about us is that we love to move into upscale places but have no clue that it takes work, appreciation and mutual respect among neighbors for it to stay that way. So the cycle begins of us running away from the shitty neighborhoods that we create and then act shocked when the nicer places go downhill fast once we come in droves.
Who is 'we' and 'us'? Come on...if its Blacks you're talking about don't label all of 'us' with those behaviors. I've lived in an upscale community with other Black folks for 20 years, and we work, appreciate, and show mutual respect for others.

I moved out of a city 3 years ago. Was living in a very nice condo building where mostly people owned, but i was renting for 3K/month. I was there 3 years and loved it until year 3. The neighbors were cool, but i started noticing homeless and drug addicts or mentally ill coming around at night and we started having breakins in the building. I bought a house in a really nice area in the suburbs with golf courses on a lake 3 years ago and love it. I am single but its mostly upper middle class families here. So glad i left the crazy city. And my property has icreased over 50% in 3 years. My best move was getting out of the city.
I don't live in a major metro area but fully understand your plight. Much of what you spoke about is on pace with what I've been saying for years about apartment living in general. Me and my wife lived in City Center, which is a nice area of the city where all shoppes and restaurants were in walking distance. She says 🙄 I sound like a grumpy old man. I'm 46 so I'm okay with that! But I also know that I'm not grumpy for no reason. I used to love the city life because of the conveniences. But now it really is horrible 😕. No peace of mind! Looking forward to getting a home with no shared walls. We don't have children so why should I have to listen to other people's children yelling, running, and screaming all the damn time. That's just one of many issues so I feel you on this one.
Atlanta has been like this for decades. I only really lived in Midtown and Buckhead. 2008 - 2010 specifically... It's unbelievable the type of people that live in luxury buildings in Atlanta...
Glad you are getting out! I couldn't live in a spot that nice that has people renting their place out on Airbnb. They let some of any and everybody up in there. Proably was the source of a lot of the fights you were hearing.
I doubt the AirBnB's were causing the majority of his cited issues. The basic civility level in most of these larger east coast cities & metro areas has eroded to the point where avg. people are uncouth, low-mannered bums who don't know how to act. (And they seem to be EVERYWHERE). 🤷🏾♂️
😂 When you mentioned leaving, I knew EXACTLY the reason you were leaving. "Elements" as my mom loves to call them, are getting too close to home. Such a shame, cause the view is beautiful. With whats coming, I wouldnt want to be anywhere near the city. Best of luck on your next home settling.
@th3azscorpio If everyone leaves, the people you’re talking about will eventually follow you to to suburbs and country. I understand why people want to move but someone needs to stay in Atlanta and fight. They have to reclaim their city and require people to act right or else there will be repercussions. People have to band together and change things. Especially Black people. There’s no reason we can’t have 5 men guarding every street for a year like Guardian Angels.
I had the same issue in Burbank California rent was $5,000, 4 years ago. I saw the same problems; fights, smoking weed. parties 3 in the morning, street racing, and homeless in the sidewalk everywhere.
You are absolutely right I had to move out of Buckhead because of the drugs the noise the shootings I used to hate Friday and Saturday nights living in an apartment
I live in a mid sized city in Southern California near Los Angeles. It sucks here and is much worse in LA. Homelessness, drugs, people unable to afford to live/engaging in crime just to get by. Get out of the cities, if you can.
Yes, a certain level of IQ is a prerequisite to have theory of mind, compassion, empathy/"put yourself in someone else's shoes", anticipate outcomes of actions, etc
That’s downtown living for you. I live in a luxury high-rise in Los Angeles. Since the pandemic, I can tell management has lowered its standards, let go of the security staff and doorman. Since January we’ve been targeted with multiple vehicle break-ins and at least one murder of a female model which made national news.
I do bodyguard work in l.a my boss asked me why I don't move to l.a. I said you ever seen the walking dead he said yeah I said that's why he laughed he told me I made a good point
Yeah Buckhead and the city in general unfortunately attracts the wrong crowd of people. At one point in time, Lenox was considered one of the “good” malls. Now it’s seems like there always is a fight or a shooting. Things have gotten better since they implemented all the security measures at the mall though. My wife and I live in a community in Stonecrest where mainly retired folks have homes at. So we don’t have to deal with the foolishness. This is our starter home and plan to eventually move closer to the city. I think some of the best areas closest to the city would be Sandy Springs, Druid Hills, and Brookhaven.
I went to college in ATL mid 8o,s and it was big but safe, nice clubs Black Business a real sense of pride, women had class .when i visit now its like a mass evacuation every where with the traffic
I just left Atlanta and stayed at a hotel in Buckhead. I was surprised how ghetto and sketchy Buckhead is. Like I thought Buckhead was supposed to be the upscale area.
@jakelong6860 Just sketchy, nothing race specific. A lot of homeless people, seedy looking establishments, weed smoke everywhere, people running lights and speeding, etc. I just thought Buckhead was a more upscale area of Atlanta and I wasn't impressed at all. Seems like it maybe used to be nice, but has poor administration or something.
@jakelong6860 Yeah, I travel for work and haven't been to Atlanta in years. I was really disappointed, but I've seen similar trends in most cities I go to like Miami and Houston. Then there are cities like Baltimore, Detroit, and St. Louis that have always been crazy.
@@jsb06g What's crazy is we are (black folks) about 55 million in the states and we have no real leaders to demolish and fully rebuild them cities. Like white folks are doing without hesitation.

Bruh. I live in Hyde Park in Chicago and moved here to get away from dealing with craziness of my city. But the noise in my building is annoying and the management doesn’t seem to care.
I think every man wants that big city experience. I lived in Miami for just over a year in 2005-2006. It was ass. Had a condo in Fort Worth from 2009 to 2019. Not a bad place but the condo hoa was a blood sucker and all the jobs were on the other side of town. Been living in the Sandia Hills on the far east side of Albuquerque. Its so quiet and lovely here. Different story about 4 miles down the road. Too far for the bums to walk and too many hills and speed bumps for any drag racing. All the best to your new home. I know nothing about the Atlanta metro myself.
I use to want to live in those high rises but I figured out early on that wasn’t it for me…parking issues, thin walls, apartments on top of each other, small units… it’s a no for me. Seems like a big hussle to me. A bunch of overpriced apartments just because of location. The city doesn’t have anything I don’t have in the suburbs….plus I have peace, quiet, and space.

There’s a delicate art to choosing the right high rise apartment building in Buckhead and Midtown. You have to first check if the garage gate is functioning or not, next is checking the google reviews. Set it to most recent. All apartments will have some bad reviews. But if they have a lot of noise, trash, break in, theft, weed smoke complaints(I would say more than two bad reviews in the past six months) don’t move in. But on the other hand, a good sign is when you see negative reviews from Sharkieshas and Ray Ray talking about how the leasing office staff denied them to lease an apartment or they couldn’t get a proper tour. That’s a good sign that that building is doing everything to deny scamming riff raff and sex workers. Next, if possible always come after 5pm and if you can find the security guard doing his rounds, strike up a nice conversation and slide him a $10 spot. He’ll tell you EVERYTHING about the building. Stay away from the Lenox rd and Lindbergh rd area buildings especially.
Long story short (regarding the furniture, etc.) money cannot buy class. People will break their necks and their bank accounts to be in the "happening areas" or to do "happening things" across the board without the couth and wherewithal that goes along with it. I thought I understood this well, but these past few months have really slapped me in the face of really absorbing this, especially how people think it is cool to move and stun so hard it hurts them short-, intermediate-, and long-term. As a native, I can see how your place or Park Avenue (the condos across the street) could fall into this. I loved touring the latter, Oak Valley, Sovereign, etc. over the last couple of years when I was interested in buying (before I bought out in country), but I could easily see the building flip due to inheritance or a trophy wife getting the bag just from the little I've seen. Nevertheless, I'm glad you got to do some true high-rise living for the both of us.
Is that argument in the beginning of your video at your complex? How you paying all this money and people don’t know how to act!
OMG!! Nice building, wrong people. Happy you are leaving to enjoy your new and secluded space!
Glad you are getting out! I couldn't live in a spot that nice that has people renting their place out on Airbnb. They let some of any and everybody up in there. Proably was the source of a lot of the fights you were hearing.
Very truebabout people arguijg Airbnb guest
I doubt the AirBnB's were causing the majority of his cited issues.
The basic civility level in most of these larger east coast cities & metro areas has eroded to the point where avg. people are uncouth, low-mannered bums who don't know how to act. (And they seem to be EVERYWHERE). 🤷🏾♂️
Yep we are moving out of the city (Houston) in two weeks
Once the rappers started name dropping Lenox mall, Phillips plaza and all the other landmarks in Buckhead I knew it would be downhill from there.
Bingo!
I got it too. Right away. 95% it be your own people. Ninjas!
@@1233-h1 🎯🎯🎯 You know it! 😂 Georgia is still lovely, but I'll take the outskirts, and rural areas.
Elements…LOL. A friend a mine moved to Atlanta years ago and he said the “n*gger factor”was strong there. 😂
I had the same issue in Burbank California rent was $5,000, 4 years ago. I saw the same problems; fights, smoking weed. parties 3 in the morning, street racing, and homeless in the sidewalk everywhere.
which part of burbank my area is fine
You are absolutely right I had to move out of Buckhead because of the drugs the noise the shootings I used to hate Friday and Saturday nights living in an apartment
Wow, I don't even live in Georgia and I feel bad for you. Come on up to North Carolina....we welcome you here.
It’s a nice looking place. Too bad some people mess it up for others
Atlanta is one big hot mess, smh by the fights the women are at a breaking point.
I live in a mid sized city in Southern California near Los Angeles. It sucks here and is much worse in LA. Homelessness, drugs, people unable to afford to live/engaging in crime just to get by. Get out of the cities, if you can.
Sounds like u were recording a scene for ratched reality tv in the beginning 😂😂😂.
Those people lack conflict resolution skills-which means they’re low IQ. I’ve actually stepped into a situation and calmed it down, but never again!!
Yeah, they are volatile. If I pull up to stop light i avoid eye contact. That triggers them
You were better than me! I would have kept it moving while avoiding eye contact! Not my problem…
Yes, a certain level of IQ is a prerequisite to have theory of mind, compassion, empathy/"put yourself in someone else's shoes", anticipate outcomes of actions, etc
They getting those CPNs and running them up until they get kicked out.
They always hit the tinted cars on any side of the city. It's always what could be inside that makes them treat it like a loot box.
Sounds like a wise decision to move on from the urban chaos.
I moved out of the city and don’t regret the move. All the problems you mention told me to leave asap.
can't blame you. i feel your pain. morals, self respect, and decorum has gone by the wayside
Weed smoke non-stop, loud music 24/7, Fights, guns shots and addicted everywhere. NYC
Those high risers also have apartments for low income too. 😢😅
$3200 USD per month for a one bedroom JESUS 😳 🙃 😬
When you say ghetto do you mean black or just run down.
@@jsb06g Yeah back in 92 it was better I heard.
It’s been 14 years since I’ve lived there I was in Nor-cross I’m in the process of selling my home in Birmingham and was thinking of moving back guess I need to think about this again
Yeah, we evacuated to this exact area due to a hurricane. I thought the area was nice until we walked over to Lenox Mall and noticed police stationed at each escalator with metal detectors. This was enough for me to catch the drift.
The problem is people like y'all (no shade)... Atlanta was an amazing city before all the extra baggage. People bring the issues form thei'r countries and other cities. All major cities with "diversity" are a hot mess. Everyone should return to their countries and cities of origin period. Of course this is wishful thinking
@@officialsyddinprettyWe werent long-term. We were there just to ride out direct hit. I do agree that outsiders brought baggage that spilled over to existing community.
New Money vs Old Money. Reminds me of NYC/Manhattan 1970's.
I lived in a mid rise, they broke 8nti my mercedes just because didn't take the change in my cup holder. They did take my alcohol wipes though lol. I thought I would be good in an upscale gated community, totally not! The car break in was all it took for me to leave the city smh. You did right moving. You lived that lifestyle now to a new level
I live in Milton, the serenity in this area is priceless. Its brilliant this side.
Sad to see Buckhead in decline. Hopefully this can reversed because Buckhead was the nicest part of urban Atlanta.
That’s why I stay in Hampton Ga I get peace and quiet. Grew up in Jonesboro and decided I wanted better for my kids. Prices here have shot up over the past few years which is a good thing making this a place for middle class working family. When thing’s are cheap in comes the foolery. Ratchet people love to be close to the city in my opinion.
It’s a building in a litt city … you need a house bro , they serve drinks at the car wash what do you expect 🤷🏾♂️ it’s like another Miami
Bruh. I live in Hyde Park in Chicago and moved here to get away from dealing with craziness of my city. But the noise in my building is annoying and the management doesn’t seem to care.
Oh no, not Hyde Park, the bourgeoise negro area! 😂
Thottin it up is real in the ATL
That every major cities pure insanity
You have balance in your life and what you're witnessing is a unbalanced society.
Everyone wants to live in BuckHood… high rise living looks great until you actually experience it. Even visiting people that live in them is a hassle.
There should be a jail for public loud mouths if they aren't speaking to a crowd that WANTS to listen to them.
As somebody who value peace of mind, and tranquility, i feel ur pain. This is real definition of money can't buy u class.what u think abt buy a house in the suburbs?it will cost less, more privacy, i know not everybody wanna be a homeowner.
0:04 "Get out ma face, ho3!" Ninjas... 😂

My city which is a small city outside of Philadelphia use to be really bad but thank God it’s changed for the best. No more gun shots etc the people are nicer and mind their business. Walter Lee who is a UA-camr talks a lot about the city in ATL too.
Unbelievable for such a high end place
Unfortunately my Brotha, The Gremlins / Demos are everywhere. Black or White. Like Rich Folks in Their Gated Communities, they still will have to Come out to get Food. I Don't Do Delivery service either. I don't like Strangers coming to my home unless Absolutely Necessary. It's getting Bad All Over! /
The creeps come out at night. 😄
Thank you for sharing. For being so open, helpful, and insightful.
This reminded me when I lived in the Bronx with neighbors arguing and having sex all loud. It’s a common occurrence when you live in the city. I don’t live in NYC anymore because of it.
2 things .. I work in Birmingham .. AL ..
they hit maybe 30 cars where I work all over the city only cars with tented windows… when you hit a tented window the whole window falls perfectly together.. it doesn’t shatter everywhere.. WHAT THEY WAS LOOKING FOR IS GUNS. .. if you don’t have GUNS IN YOUR CAR THEY TAKE NOTHING .. not credit cards no laptop nothing just GUNS
O and they got me..
They Sound Like ANIMALS, those folks are not acting like Human Beings. Buckhead is not Poverty Row I assure you. Annoys me that people will act like that when they knowingly have neighbors right next to them.
Amazing how much I strongly agree with You on many of these topics!
I figured this video would attract the self hate crowd. Those making racial comments seem to be unaware that they can not exclude themselves from the negative classification comments they make
Ninjas will always mess up an area

My dad was Atalanta about month ago and he said it’s looking bad I’m in Chicagoland area 30 min west of Chicago downtown Chicago is looking like the hood now
A good title for this video would be "My apartment review with extra thoughts" lol
You were better off staying in Sandy Springs.
Sandy Springs isn't that better
@@SeeknDaTruth Yeah but when he had his mansion there, he would only hear about the issues, not see and live with them first hand. Go scan thru "The Gangs of New York: An Informal History of the Underworld" By Herbert Asbury.
It explains how many east coast cities were flooded with low-class Irish, Scottish, German, & Italian peasants and how many of them resorted to gang activity in efforts to escape poverty.
I have had no bad experience in the vinings 👌🏿
Just move to Sandy Springs Grandpa!

Dunwoody is nice but you will have to deal with the Old Karens harassing you.
@@SeeknDaTruth I’ve been praying for one of those moments tbh lol…
Im in Philly and the homelessness and drug use has definitely gone way up. The 'Zombie'd' drug users used to just be contained in Kensington and Frankfort...now we see a lot more downtown between 2nd and 15th street...They had to shut down the WAWA's and Rite Aids because of all the violence.
It's awful what's happened to Philly. I was here for med school almost half a decade ago, a very down-to-earth city, and now just this morning my husband was accosted outside 711 by someone who was out of his mind (drugs?). I was walking around in broad daylight during the workday and a white woman was passed out on a corner outside an ice cream shop in a nice part"of the city (drugs?). I think it's community collapse. People with stimulation, things to do, a social circle, do not behave like this.
@@jmt2192 You taught me a new word today, "accosted".
It will never get better as long as the people keep voting for the democrats.
@@tracywalker244 I actually believe the reverse. We have been in a Republican type of economy since Ronald Reagan and Reaganomics. If you feel Dems arent doing anything its because the GOP blocks them on most issues...even if it would help out the average person. Buck head has always been considered the nice part of the city . Maybe it’s just the city life in general now
Bro im not gonna lie i would not be living in buckhead as a veteran im too paranoid !i would def pop a cap in a robber ass. i live in the outskirts
Some people are really dysfunctional and yes they probably are concentrated in the cities because life is easier there.
Yup, the Lenox/Buckhead situation here reminds me of Beverly Hill. It's completely insane making me sad at the same time. There too much new money ruining everything, and etiquette is seriously lacking there and everywhere.

Sounds like either two lesbian lovers fighting or two baby mamas with the same baby daddy. More reasons why I'm glad I live OTP Atlanta is and has always been overrated.
I see why buckhead wanted to be independent. It's mostly about wanting a separate police department. To a greater extent policy making as well.
$3200 to $9000 a month why not buy a house or at least rent one
