Those are all totally fair points. I'd add the weak controller pad and the haptics as well. Also, the streaming is...difficult. I think you were super nice about it, and I think even AT Games couldn't complain about these fair points.
I agree with your ten missed points. I dont have a problem with the artwork. ( eye of the beholder and all that stuff ). I never had a problem with my USB cable. I have the Sams addition and many of the games that came with it just look fuzzy. Like they scanned it with a cheap scanner or something. I know its not the legends because other ones are nice and sharp. Bottom line is you cant beat it for the price. And I play mine everyday as well. Your channel is great.👍
Yeah, I liken the playfield for Victory, to look like a 3rd-generation color copy machine. Appreciate the kind words about the channel, man - thank you!
Hey, it's Chris from the BlahCade Pinball Podcast. Thought I might jump in and clear up some of those questions you had. 10. Art design - yep, it's hideous. Would rather they had slapped the Legends logo on the side of the cab and then left the backglass clean 09. Included tables - all these Gotlieb tables had already appeared in FarSight's The Pinball Arcade, starting back in 2012 with Black Hole. You ask why not better Gottlieb selection? Well, this was all FarSight had made! 08. Poor Quality tables - again, this is on FarSight who made these. They never upgraded their pinball engine from 2012, nor did they ever use high quality image scans, despite fans pleading with them. What you are seeing here is their low polygon count Android versions. Same goes for the physics, which does not hold up compared to Zen and Magic Pixel's offerings. 07. Table Purchasing - I don't own an ALP machine so I can't speak to it personally, but this one you can squarely blame the fault on AtGames as they created the storefront. 06. Licensing - Why no WMS/Bally? Simple, Zen owns that license and AtGames didn't partner with them, Arcade 1Up did. Stern owns the Data East/Sega license which FarSight used to have, but Stern doesn't want their tables available in a digital cabinet, otherwise all the Stern titles FarSight made would also be on here. The only license left was for Zaccaria, and AtGames partnering with Magic Pixel, who already had recreated the entire catalogue, was a very smart decision. Hate to say it, but AtGames should have spent the money to get Zen involved but didn't. 05. Under powered processor - it's an Android card, and not a top of the line one at that. But you said it yourself, the Magic Pixel tables play much better than the Gottlieb ones made by FarSight, and that comes down to MP having optimized their mobile versions much better. FarSight was notorious for the shortcuts they took, not their quality. 04. OTG inconsistency - again, can't speak to this as I don't own the cab. The bigger question though is, do you actually like where they placed the ports at the top of the playfield? I think that is a terrible decision, and they should have put them at the rear or side of the cab, with volume and such on the coin door. In other words, make it easy and clean looking to hook up your PC. 03. Proprietary cables - what blows me away is they almost seemed to resign themselves to the fact people were gonna mod the hell out of these, and then chose to make it just that more difficult for people anyways! Keep in mind too, their supply chain was greatly affected by the COVID shutdown, same as it affected Arcade 1Up and anybody else dealing with computer chips and electronics that come from China. 02. User interface - this is a weird one, as it's both AtGames' and FarSight's fault. From the videos I've seen, the Gottlieb interface looks near identical to what Arcooda had designed for FarSight (and believe me, Arcooda isn't happy about it being used elsewhere as it was designed for a touch screen). All the other tables might take their cue from Magic Pixel's interface, but more likely this is an AtGames design. Point being, this is what happens when you take shortcuts and use 3rd party elements in a one size fits all attempt. 01. Customer support - have you yourself had issues? Just seems weird to make the number one issue something that you've only heard about second hand. Dunno, just my opinion. Some things I'm surprised you DIDN'T mention ... - that plunger looks like a toy! - no accelerometer, instead you have to use buttons for nudge?? - front of cab isn't at standard pinball machine height, it's lower. Silly error right there. - should have had a 3rd monitor for DMD, right where that stupid AtGames logo is between the speakers. - heard nothing but horror stories about the haptics, as it seems everybody that owns one of these changes them out almost immediately. - the tables are seriously overpriced, especially considering what the PC versions go for on Steam. Just some ridiculous mark up right there.
Here’s to hoping some (if not all) of these issues you outlined will be implemented on the new 4K machine coming out. I know they did listen and SOME have been fixed, but really stoked for the preorder! The joystick/roll ball upgrade is also a MUST. Great video and thanks for sharing the truth 🙌
About to pull the trigger…SALE is live! Honest thoughts? I LOVE pinball and think this would be great, but should I do it? Did quite a bit of research, but want an array of epic tables, with PC to follow in time. Or wait…for the 4K 🤔
@@ryanwilliamson8622 LOL There's NO WAY I'm telling another person what to do with their money! However, I CAN tell you I love mine and play it darn near every day!!! I don't know any info about their upcoming 4K machine, other than it is coming some day.
@@digitalvictory8266 AWESOME! It’s all your fault…already in the cart sitting with the upgrade joystick 🤣 All kidding aside, I like seeing/hearing other opinions, so thanks for your videos on it…has been helpful. This was already in the cards 👍
Honestly, I think my biggest nitpick is the placement of the HDMI and USB ports. I'm going to be making a new back panel coming up and relocating the connections there using the flat cables from buy stuff arcades and a few mounted ports. The UI is also a gripe for me, but i'm really planning on staying in OTG mode most of the time coming up.
Man, the stock haptics were terrible. But you can upgrade them with a bass shaker. And, ya gotta give um credit for their most recent firmware update where you can adjust haptic volume. They're supporting this product.
Great list! The “why” for most of these comes down to price. The ALP is significantly cheaper than the competition, even more so for recent buyers paying $400. Why don’t we have better licenses? Because those licenses cost more money. Why aren’t the included tables as good as the Magic Pixel tables? Because that work would cost more money. Why don’t they include the VIBS? Because they can sell it to you for damn near $70 shipped. If I were then I’d prioritize a better on-device purchasing experience if there were any hope it’s drive revenue and I’d consider an ALP Pro that retails for around $1500, adding a 4K monitor, internal ATX mount for dedicated OTG, internal power management, bigger back glass with dedicated DMD… But I bet they’re in a pretty good spot with the price point they are at.
"I’d consider an ALP Pro that retails for around $1500, adding a 4K monitor, internal ATX mount for dedicated OTG, internal power management, bigger back glass with dedicated DMD"...and its a real 3/4 scale Cabinet!
@@scottfarrar3441 Essentially double the cost of the ALP. I think $1K is a good top limit for my budget. Basically the ALP, with dedicated OTG capabilities, larger backglass and the items in my video fixed.
I presume the multiple LED bars you have stuck to your machine are turned off during play, they would be slightly more distracting than the Legends logo! Got mine a week ago, I also have the Sharpin mini with PB Arcade, bursting to get Attack From Mars, T2, Medieval Madness etc on the Legends but looks like a dedicated PC needed and lots of spare time. I supported the T2 kickstarter on PB Arcade, gutted the way it went for Farsight (and us), but luckily I still have the table I bought. Really needs to be on the Legends though. The built-in Gottliebs aren't the best, and look flat as a f*rt on screen but getting used to it. A better ball like on the Zaccaria tables would help.
To be honest, I don't even play the native games on Legends very often at all. They just can't compare to the amazing work by the VPX creators. It is indeed a lot of spare time, no way around that. It's a deep wormhole that requires patience and learning. Appreciate you watching Graham! Thank you!
1up arcade got Williams Bally tables license unfortunately, 1up pinball runs at 720p 30fps on 23in screen, for me it's unplayable. Since atgames has some of pinball arcade tables like Gottlieb maybe they'll get stern tables like star trek and Ghostbusters in the future.
Good Call Ed. What you have suggested has put me off in buying one, but I understand how you enjoy it and us, the viewer for your uploads, likewise. Ever thought about a full size virtual with all the bells and whistles? Plenty of Bucks though. Cheers!😎
I think you missed where he said he would buy another and that this is still an awesome machine. I was in one of the first waves when they came out and I am still loving it to this day. With a few mods and a PC attached, this is a great addition to any man cave.
Great video, thanks for sharing. It's usually nothing but endless praise for these machines so its nice to hear some truth. Also I think Zaccaria runs so well because Magic Pixel did such an amazing job getting it to run optimized on the Nintendo Switch, I'm sure they have gained some serious experience in that department :3
Now two months having the Legends Pinball. I do love it and I'm playing it a lot, but for me the biggest issue is the ~100ms flipper lag while playing in OTG mode. It's true that you get used to it after a while and can anticipate a bit with most of the tables, but really fast tables are almost unplayable. I did a few tests connecting another monitor (standard 32" office monitor, nothing really fancy) and still using the ALP controls, and lag was reduced by half. I'll probably consider a monitor swap one day.
I don't know if my reflexes are sharp enough to notice, to be honest. I don't doubt you though, I've heard it from many others, too. I don't know why they would let that through testing, but I'm not shocked considering some of the other faux pas they've stepped in.
From what I understand Zen has the licensing for Williams table under an exclusive contract so my guess would be AtGames simply can’t get them. Hopefully in the future with a updated table perhaps the exclusive part of the licensing will drop but right now Zen has weight to toss around because they’re THE way to get pinball on a console or computer, which the vast majority of people play instead of virtual tables
Great vid. Needed these issues be clearly delineated and explained. Should add though, that the $400 Sams club price, all these are forgivable for a great package. $800 different story.
Hah! The same saying in construction is "Good, fast, and cheap - pick two." But your videos have shown how and where AT Games cut costs and I agree with you that it's still the best overall value for virtual pinball.
Hey thank you, I am now re thinking getting my hands on one .... for a little while at least. Thanks for sharing your honest opinion chap and keep up the Stella work.
You think that's bad? I purchased more packs at one about every sale. I just purchased the last Taito pack (3) because I really didn't care about it. But wanted it eventually anyway for the sake of completion. I'm supposed to be all caught up now. In the past all of my packs were in the my digital locker waiting on me. Not this time! It's not there, I can't manually add it, etc. All I have is a code with no way to add it! I opened a ticket and they told me to do the same stuff I already knew. Worst customer service ever! Why do they ask for all of that info (model, id. Serial number, etc.) If they aren't even going to use it? In the past I've never had a single problem, now I can't even get my pack entered!
Hey there! I recently purchased a At Games Legends Pinball machine (thanks to your videos), but was wondering how to play other tables like the ones you feature. Could you make a video on how to download and upload tables from some of the websites you feature?
Hey buddy, thanks so much for watching. I don't really do videos on tech side, but I heartily recommend Wagner's Tech Talk, and Rudy's Arcade. no need for me to reinvent the wheel, they've done a great job. Rudy just recently did an amazing tutorial, a complete Beginner's guide to Virtual Pinball, here: ua-cam.com/video/x0CFLSs7R3c/v-deo.html&pp=ygUjQmVnaW5uZXIncyBndWlkZSB0byBWaXJ0dWFsIFBpbmJhbGw%3D Going down that rabbit hole is a real thing, and takes some serious time and learning, but SO worth it!
Good video, I see the issues and you would think they just implement that VISB board by default now since most would want it. Another thing I think is a horrible design is having usb and hdmi slots on the front. Who wants a cable mess there? You want the cabinet to look professional and clean. That just gives that Chinese multifunction crap vibe to it with cords everywhere, really strange when it could have been on the back or underneath towards the back left etc. With that said I am still so excited for it and it is the best price to what you get ratio. Now I just need ro decide if I wait for the 4k version coming later this year or snatch up the old model. Thank you for the video.
Are you splitting the music and the sound effects between the speakers you added and the backbox speakers of the ALP? I'm just curious as I noticed a setting in the sound options to split the sound effects from the music.
No, I run the speakers standard fashion from the PC (for OTG use only). There are SOME tables that have a weird balance between the sound effects and music, and I've used those sliders to adjust that.
Hi, just stumbled across your video and i appreciated the thoughts expressed. I noticed the led lights you have going on your table and i wondered if they are hardwired or rechargeable? I'm thinking of adding some but I've only ever seen rechargeable and i don't want to have to keep removing them for charging. Thanks!
First: Thanks for watching Brian! I hope you sub and stick around for a while, I got a bunch of cool vids I think you'll enjoy. Now - regarding the LEDs - They're slick, huh?! But yeah - I DO have to recharged them. But that's only because of where I put them. I know one of my viewers that keeps them just to the SIDES of the backglass, and keeps them plugged in. I got them from Amazon. I have a link to my Amazon affiliate link: amzn.to/3NHqea5 I also did a video on those specifically: ua-cam.com/users/shortsQKf9IAth1gA?feature=share
@@digitalvictory8266 thank you. I'm enjoying your channel. It looks like we have some comic interests in common as well. I have that Captain America book that you've got on your wall. Bought it a looong time ago. One of my favorites. Keep up the good work!
Spot on Sir I find your concerns are applicable to some of there other products as well I have the Legends Ultimate and gamer pro ,much of what you say can apply. Great video honest and to the point.
Yes, it's a PITA! I too love it and use it almost exclusively for OTG mode. One gripe you missed, why didn't they put the USB and HDMI connections on the back? having all the cables plugged in the front looks really bad.
Agreed on the table selection. I wonder if Data East or Williams were just off the table for licensing. My biggest peeve is how a slight accidental shock was able to make the HDMI out obsolete.
Zen currently holds the home digital pinball rights for the Williams/Bally tables. In all probability, Arcade1UP probably has an exclusive with them. The included Gottlieb games were produced by FarSight Studios who actually has already developed digital pinball simulations of practically all of the Williams/Bally tables but are not allowed to sell them since Zen now owns the licenses. So the issue is not with the Legends Pinball machine being underpowered. If it could run the Gottlieb games developed by FarSight, then it could have run the Williams/Bally tables that FarSight had developed since they were all using the same gaming engine. Of course, the saving grace of the Legends machine is that you can mate it to a PC and then run the Zen versions of the Williams/Bally tables on it. (Or, alternatively, the non-licensed VPX counterparts which are in a gray area from a legal perspective.)
@@digitalvictory8266 how does that work though? Do you still get the haptics up in front by the controls? Does it just replace the speakers in the back glass?
@@cwescrab No, no - the Haptics built in to the table only work with the tables that come with the unit, and ones I purchase. My PC games I play on it (through OTG) don't have the haptics. And those speaker up top ONLY work with the PC (they're just PC speakers). When I play any of the games that come with it, the sound for those come through the built-in speakers on the front there.
For sure it’s not perfect but it’s a cheap pinball table and it does a lot for the price. The screen is big and bright and clear. Yes, the artwork isn’t great but you can change it and the joystick adapter is definitely a must for other games.
Oh heck yeah, I heartily recommend it! LIke I said in the video, they are more or less just nit-picks, none of thme are deal breakers. Can't beat it for the price, especially. Appreciate you comin' by Chris!
Excellent video, DV! The "poor" table selections was by design; that was no accident. If they gave people the best tables available right out of the gate, few people would have much incentive to continue buying more. It was a business decision plain and simple - and it worked quite well. I agree 110% about the method for buying more tables. The current system, put frankly, sucks pinballs. And every time I buy a set of tables, the system forces me to reinput my credentials all over again and on this machine, that's a real PITA if you're not using a keyboard.
Good points, although to me the biggest issue is the height of the pinball buttons. I can't believe no one realized they weren't high enough to use comfortably without leaning over. Arcade1up's machines do it right, but not AtGames.
I agree most of them, along with the idea that most of them are pretty minor. The game does a lot of things right. I’m not sure why people hate the side art. Like what were they supposed to do, leave it blank? One thing that does bother me is that it will sometimes “nudge” even when I’m not touching it. That could ruin a game. Its something to do with the music volume, when its loud I think the vibration is triggering the sensor and thinks your trying to shake the table. But that seems fixable. Like you said its a great deal overall especially if you can get it at the Sams Club price
Regarding the side art: You know - I ACTUALLY thought about that after I filmed it, and was putting it together in Premier. I thought to myself, "You dummy, you should have mentioned another way they could have done it!" Gah! But I honestly couldn't think of anything, and just ran with it. To be fair, that's not my job to create their art, but I was just relating the way I felt about what's their now.
That's cool, there are some good ones for sure. My favorite are: - Rescue 911 - Victory - Tee'd Off - Centrigrade 37 And the Zaccaria Table packs are a MUST!!!
@@digitalvictory8266 Thanks for the input. I will eventually get the Zaccaria tables and the Dr Seuss ones too but I'm worried I'll run into problems being that I don't have a reliable wifi connection in my apartment. I'm also one of the few people that actually thinks the included tables look pretty cool.
It’s not perfect but way better than arcade one Ups and I have both. I have hundreds of pinball tables and thousands of games on my legend. Of course you need the joystick add-on, which is a must.
Isn’t your ALP crashing from time to time when playing in OTG mode? It happens regularly with mine. Only solution in this case is switch off and switch on again.
I haven't had "crashing" issues, but every now and then (like every couple / few weeks), I'll have the HDMI cord to the main playfield monitor go off, and it pops back on like 4 seconds later. And a reboot will solve that. It's annoying.
I think the vibrating haptics are the main weak point. Of course there is an easy fix (with some hot glue), but it is clearly a construction error of the machine. But overall I'm very happy too with my pinball machine, I think in this price range there's simply no better alternative.
I don't own a Legends Pinball machine as I don't have space for one, but I've been looking at the Legends Pinball Micro as an alternative. It seems like maybe they've addressed at least a few of the concerns on your list when designing the micro, correct?
I agree with everything you touched on. But, there's one thing you forgot to touch on, and that's how tiny that backglass monitor is. Backglass monitors should be way bigger. You don't see real pinball tables with tiny little backglasses. Right? So, why did they make it tiny on the ALP? LOL I'm legally blind, and can't use that kind of tiny display. And, they didn't even give us the ability to add a larger display, in place of the tiny one. LOL I had to build my own table from GameRoomSolutions. At least the ALP has a decent size playfield monitor. Love the sound reactive lighting on your backbox, by the way. Thanks for the vido.
Are you sure about the USB being a thing? I just purchased a 10 foot generic amazon one which worked fine. Now attached that to an extension cable for a total of like 25 feet and everything works fine.
it's really sad. You often see the MOST virulent criticism of companies because of Customer Service. People can get over bad hardware, software updates or poor design, but Customer Service is NEVER tolerated or accepted. You'd think companies would see that and understand that, and make it a priority. Hell, look what the incredible Customer Service did for No Man's Sky. Get it right, @Games!
I totally agree with everything 💯 It would of been nicer to get rid of the Legends Pinball marquee and went with a bigger back glass. But we can’t win them all. What are your thoughts about getting the Buy Stuff Arcade’s Deluxe Back-box?
I LOVE the look of the Deluxe Back-box, and it's on my bucket list. My main issues are: It's a bit pricey; and I kinda don't want to mess with anything, cause mine is currently working great.
Fair criticism. But it’s still the best value. A1up are small, poor resolution and only give you one table. Top live Vpins are really expensive. Real pinball is ultra expensive. ALP is really upgradable so you can choose your level of expensive you’re comfortable with. The price I got my ALP at, I’m 100% sure you couldn’t build one cheaper from scratch if you wanted too.
Everything you said is accurate, but it's not quite fair to ding them for not licensing tables that simply aren't available. Zen has locked up most of the best tables!
So my thoughts on what i didnt like, haptics are #1, they were horrible when i got it, firmware updates have fixed it somewhat. #2 the 1080p screen is outdated now. Any newer versions should at least have 1440p. I know you can replace it yourself but im hoping for an upgrade from buystuff that doesnt render all the native games useless. This is more apparent for when you are using otg and a pc. #3 the otg loses connection to my pc too often. Its quite annoying. Some of the other gripes mentioned. I havent had issues with. I would suggest using wagners tech talk for some of the usb cables or connectors you need. His suggestions have been good. Although customer service is slow they have always helped me except when i mention a third party product then they use their usual we dont support that response. I guess my suggestion would be its a decent price to start but if you are gonna get a pc and a better backbox maybe just look at some other options out there. You can find a decent setup with a much better playfield screen for just a little more in the 4k-5k range, the best out out there is like 10k. I do like it though and the size is perfect for where i have it right now. And once you are into the hobby you have cool dudes like Ed giving sweet tutorials on how to play each table.
Hey Buff!! Good to see you bud! You make a lot of good points there. Especially #3, I have run into that occasionally where it just goes out (the OTG connection), and it like 5 seconds, pops right back on. Very annoying.
The USB was the worst. I went days going through multiple ones and having to order more, ended up having to use a real short one also. It's annoying, once I forgot how short it was and moved the pc, luckily I didn't damage anything but for a minute was scared I may have screwed up the USB port.
The haptics were also bad. It's one thing to have weak haptics, I get that it's a cheap machine. But no one should have to add double sided tape to the inside of the machine just to stop horrible noises. I also love the machine overall though.
I have a makeshift vpin setup that doubles as my workstation (which is great for saving space). HP PC with a 1660 Super. 32" 165Hz 1440p playfield on a rotating arm. 24" LCD Backglass and Legends Gamer Pro for the controls. All mounted to an electronic adjustable desk. It is great for so many things, but it is pretty wobbly. Every once in a while I think "Maybe I should get the ALP" if only for the casing and haptics. But honestly, in the middle of playing, I don't even notice the lack of haptic feedback and I don't know if I could go back to 60fps. I'm really curious to play one though.
But wait there is more. I wanted to distribute their pins and arcades in my country in Europe. And they haven't even manage to take money out of me. It was offered to me to buy from some other EU distributor for the price over MSRP, while at the same time price was discounted by at least 20% from MSRP. I mean we get screwed a lot in Europe with pricing but really? I mean that is not really how You do business at all.
The reason why they don't have Williams and bally tables has nothing to do with graphics. It's because Zen Studios has bought exclusive rights to those tables. They are the only ones that are allowed to re-create them virtually. And Zen studios already has a contract with another virtual pinball table company. The name of which I forgot. But if those are the tables you want. You really should have bought that one. (I live in Europe where they sell the Atgames table but not the other one what really pisses me of) It's also really nasty move from both Zen Studios and the owner of those rights. Because prior to this Fairsight Studios owned those rights. They re-created many Bally and Williams tables. But once Zen Studios got a hold of those tables. They are not even allowed to sell those tables anymore. Despite the fact that they have sold them for years. And invest money in creating them. What must be a disaster for that company.
It also has more faults than you listed from what I can see on other various reviews on YT. Add all those all up and for the price there is no way I'd ever purchase one.
Glad I got it for under $300 (less than the cost of materials for building a cab) but I'm still not able to get my pc tables full screen on the playfield. But so close. Frustrating.
some good points and some not so good points, the licenses can be super hard. if you invest into licenses you need to earn the money back, that is business. having the best licenses in a small world like pinball is not very promising.
I don't know if it was the best they could do at the time, or they were just trying to crank something out for a sale booster, but the G-paks they included royally suck! Gottlieb had many great tables over the years they never even touched, why did they choose most of the duds?! Worse, why are they so crummy looking?! If it wasn't for the upgradeability I would have taken it back out of frustration!!!
If OTG wasn't an option, I'd gladly stay with my arcade 1up pinner modded table. So I disagree on the value of this blowing the competition out of the water. But now after spending $1200 on upgrading this machine I don’t touch my arcade one up anymore. Even so, the 10 Williams tables are so much better than those 22 Gotliebs
#10 - complains about the logo reflecting whilst having audio reacting LED light bars all over the backboard... Also, in your current set-up, do you really have any room there to be staring at the artwork on the sides of the case? #5 - processing power vs tables licensing - this is 100% speculation on your part. #2 - I have the Micro and I agree regarding the navigation with the D-Pad - it really blows chunks (and ties into your point about the horrible purchasing process - trying to enter all those codes with that damn D-pad). But, this is easily corrected by plugging in an Xbox controller. Out of all your points, I agree 1000000% about the purchasing process
I'm amazed no one ever wants to bring up the elephant in the room ... controller lag with pc pinball. If you think the way it works in fine don't try something that actually works.
I respectfully disagree, CoffeeDave. It hasn't been an issue for me. Now, I readily admit that I am notoriously ambivalent to stuff like that. I'm sure if you took some kind of "Lag-O-Meter" to my table, you'd discover some sort of millisecond lag, (shrug) but I don't notice it. Honestly after a few balls on any given table (with Future Pinball, VPX, FX3, whatever) my timing is fine and I seem to score pretty good. When I lose the ball, I don't recall ever saying, "Dang this lag!" It's just my poor play! LOL
@@digitalvictory8266 My dilemma was unfortunately having one next to the other. I would also agree that you do adjust to the lag and my poor ball play... is only due to my suckitude :)
@@coffeedave2360 Gotcha - yeah, going from this to a real one would definitely throw me off! Thanks so much for hangin' out and interacting - much appreciated!

Wow!!! Awesome post!
Great info here, thanks man.
Now - the real question is:
When can we do a collaboration video together?
Here’s to hoping some (if not all) of these issues you outlined will be implemented on the new 4K machine coming out. I know they did listen and SOME have been fixed, but really stoked for the preorder! The joystick/roll ball upgrade is also a MUST. Great video and thanks for sharing the truth 🙌
Thanks Ryan - and thanks so much for watching!
I think they might sell a 3d printed part on Etsy to fix that
Man, the stock haptics were terrible.
If I were then I’d prioritize a better on-device purchasing experience if there were any hope it’s drive revenue and I’d consider an ALP Pro that retails for around $1500, adding a 4K monitor, internal ATX mount for dedicated OTG, internal power management, bigger back glass with dedicated DMD…
But I bet they’re in a pretty good spot with the price point they are at.
All very points, Derek.
I remember learning when I was a young man, "When you don't know WHY, the answer is MONEY."
That would be a game-changer for the Legends Pinball if they got that Stern License! If only! 😁
Good Call Ed. What you have suggested has put me off in buying one, but I understand how you enjoy it and us, the viewer for your uploads, likewise. Ever thought about a full size virtual with all the bells and whistles? Plenty of Bucks though. Cheers!😎
GPJ!!! Good to see you my man!
Aaahhh, I didn't even consider that Adam - you could be right.
They are (to me) far superior to the original 22 tables.
Appreciate you comin' by man!
Makes sense, thanks for the info bud!
And I think Arcade1up has the partnership with Zen
@@adamruss656guess what? Zen partnership with at games! Lol
Great vid. Needed these issues be clearly delineated and explained. Should add though, that the $400 Sams club price, all these are forgivable for a great package. $800 different story.
Great post, man.
Agree 100%!
Hah! The same saying in construction is "Good, fast, and cheap - pick two."
But your videos have shown how and where AT Games cut costs and I agree with you that it's still the best overall value for virtual pinball.
Hey thank you, I am now re thinking getting my hands on one .... for a little while at least. Thanks for sharing your honest opinion chap and keep up the Stella work.
Thanks so much!!
100% agree with the purchasing of additional tables, what a pain.
Right? Who thought of THAT plan?
I believe Farsight (Zen Pinball) has the license for the Bally's / Williams tables.
I’d say #1 is the haptics! Mine are absolutely horrible and nearly single-handedly made me want to return the machine
Yeah, in hindsight, that should have been on my list! Gah!
That's a fail on my part.
if you get the arcade controller at least there is a noticeable upgrade to the haptics
@@adamruss656 Good point!
Rudy just recently did an amazing tutorial, a complete Beginner's guide to Virtual Pinball, here:

Going down that rabbit hole is a real thing, and takes some serious time and learning, but SO worth it!
@@digitalvictory8266 thank you, I truly appreciate the help!

Ouch! That sucks, man. Sorry to hear that.
Data East is Stern, so is Sega. American, Spooky, JJP might br possibilities 🤔
Hi. How did you connect your speakers that you have atop of the machine? Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Following. Hopefully there is an easy way to replace the speakers on the backglass with something that doesn't distort on some tables.
Sorry to say, those are connected to the PC,😒 and only work with the OTG games.
@@digitalvictory8266 Okay, I have force haptics on so when I play OTG VPX tables, I still get haptics, I wouldn't want to give that up.

The new 4K version is taking presales now.
I'm *really* considering that one.
I got mine being delivered this thursday 😊😊
Yes!! Gratz man, you're gonna love it. LIke I said, these are just nitpicks - overall it's a great machine, especially for the money.
High scores on tables are also inconsistent (between included and purchased).
For sure it’s not perfect but it’s a cheap pinball table and it does a lot for the price. The screen is big and bright and clear. Yes, the artwork isn’t great but you can change it and the joystick adapter is definitely a must for other games.
Right on, man! Best pinball table out there, for the money imho.
Even with this I’m still hoping to get one of these in the coming months. I just hope I can get the PC end of it figured out.
Great point, Dani!
They are also not done adding pinball tables. They added Dr. Seuss in the National Geographic within the last six months.
Very interesting and very true points you made as well. Thanks for posting this. Have a nice day now.
Good points, although to me the biggest issue is the height of the pinball buttons. I can't believe no one realized they weren't high enough to use comfortably without leaning over. Arcade1up's machines do it right, but not AtGames.
As a short dude (5' 9") - I can't complain about their height! 😁
I spent about $10 USD at Amazon for a set of 4 furniture leg risers. Added 4 inches and no one notices them. They work perfectly.
What are your favorites of the 22 included tables? I just got mine today and I'm gonna leave it stock for a while.
That's cool, there are some good ones for sure.
My favorite are:
- Rescue 911
- Victory
- Tee'd Off
- Centrigrade 37
And the Zaccaria Table packs are a MUST!!!
There not nitpicks, thanks for an excellent review,
I wonder how hard it would be to disable the light in the legends pinball in the backglass?
Its super easy once you take the back off and see how its connected
Hi again. Where do you download there awasome tables?
Please see the links in the video description. 👍
It’s not perfect but way better than arcade one Ups and I have both. I have hundreds of pinball tables and thousands of games on my legend. Of course you need the joystick add-on, which is a must.
I think that's (the joystick) pretty cool, but I have a fully outfitted Legends Arcade stand up, so I passed on the pinball joystick setup.
Agree 100% my man.
I don't own a Legends Pinball machine as I don't have space for one, but I've been looking at the Legends Pinball Micro as an alternative. It seems like maybe they've addressed at least a few of the concerns on your list when designing the micro, correct?
I can't speak on the micro, I haven't seen one in person. It DOES look pretty cool though.
All valid points BUT as you said, this is still the best Vpin available. It is certainly the easiest to mod and update with a PC.
Right on, Cory!
i would buy a pro of this if they fix the issues, and its 4k! but yeah its got its quirks. agree with you 100% on all these.
Thanks for watching Davy!

What are those boxes behind you. I'm new to your videos
Boxes? Are you referring to the large comic book Omnibuses?
The haptics and the rattle it causes makes the whole thing feel less polished
I totally agree with everything 💯 It would of been nicer to get rid of the Legends Pinball marquee and went with a bigger back glass. But we can’t win them all. What are your thoughts about getting the Buy Stuff Arcade’s Deluxe Back-box?
I LOVE the look of the Deluxe Back-box, and it's on my bucket list.
My main issues are: It's a bit pricey; and I kinda don't want to mess with anything, cause mine is currently working great.
That’s a very good point , that’s where I am at too !
Is there anyway to mod the table to just add all the games you want?
Afraid not. 😕
Having to sign in can be a pain when i play some tables then leave that table back to the main screen i get signed out
Are they coming out with a version 2 or a pro version. What are the rumours?
Not that I've heard, no. I'd love to be privvy to their Sales numbers & margins - that would be the determining factor, of course.
100% brother!! (I hope you stayed to the end, that's exactly what I said). Best value out there by far.
Thanks for watching Hudson!
Hello, does anyboy know, if Pinball FX has the ability to turn off the dumb trails behind the ball?
Everything you said is accurate, but it's not quite fair to ding them for not licensing tables that simply aren't available. Zen has locked up most of the best tables!
A fair point, Lowell - if I had thought of it, I should have included the poor Haptics instead of that item.

Hi Max! They're cool, right?
I get asked that a lot, so I did a video about them here:

Can you share a link of the Wagner video?
@@warrenreid5624 ua-cam.com/video/S8i4ttMuzmY/v-deo.html&feature=shares
Solid points
Appreciate you hangin' out bud!
Pretty much all of the points with the included tables is because of their deal with Farsight who makes Pinball Arcade, and Farsight is terrible.
The USB was the worst. I went days going through multiple ones and having to order more, ended up having to use a real short one also. It's annoying, once I forgot how short it was and moved the pc, luckily I didn't damage anything but for a minute was scared I may have screwed up the USB port.
Guess I got lucky with the usb. I feel like that's the only thing I haven't had an issue with.
The haptics were also bad. It's one thing to have weak haptics, I get that it's a cheap machine. But no one should have to add double sided tape to the inside of the machine just to stop horrible noises. I also love the machine overall though.
Dude!! I missed that one! Haptics should have been on my list! Good call!
My haptics blew day one.
Why is Legends pinball stuck on wi fi loading?
But wait there is more.
I wanted to distribute their pins and arcades in my country in Europe. And they haven't even manage to take money out of me. It was offered to me to buy from some other EU distributor for the price over MSRP, while at the same time price was discounted by at least 20% from MSRP.
I mean we get screwed a lot in Europe with pricing but really? I mean that is not really how You do business at all.
Dang, that sucks.
Can not buy a VIBS board
I heard you can get a third party version on Amazon.
If you came up with ten there's more
It also has more faults than you listed from what I can see on other various reviews on YT. Add all those all up and for the price there is no way I'd ever purchase one.
Glad I got it for under $300 (less than the cost of materials for building a cab) but I'm still not able to get my pc tables full screen on the playfield. But so close. Frustrating.
Not full screen? What do you mean?
(and that's a GREAT price!)
some good points and some not so good points, the licenses can be super hard.
if you invest into licenses you need to earn the money back, that is business. having the best licenses in a small world like pinball is not very promising.
unfortunately i have installed it numerous times but i can't get it to work. I'm definitely doing something wrong
I see no lies.
You guys bought it all so cheap. I live in The Netherlands and had to buy it in England. With shipping and all Im up to 1200 euro.
😐 That's brutal. Bad luck.
1ups suck due to their small screen. The ALP is a great mid size machine between the 1up and a larger full size vpin
Right on Omega Bob - appreciate the comments, man!
