    My Husqvarna is also twenty years old. I have watched your video again to see where to attach my accelerator linkage to at the carb. I have taped it in place until I start assembly. Thank you for your good quality video. I could see clearly what you were doing. I failed to take pictures before disassembly. I hope my saw fires up like yours did!! I bought the saw at Lowes for close to two hundred dollars several years ago. You had the correct year model of saw I have. It's hard to get videos of our older saws.But you came through!!!

    I just went through all this with a 55 that was found in an old wet barn. It was in disgusting condition with mold and dirt. It looked like somebody played with it years ago trying to get it to run. A couple parts were missing and everything else was loose. It took me a few hours (mostly cleaning) and $50 in parts, but I got it looking really nice again. Once I got it to run and tuned, it rips!! Nice little project. With the easy availability of replacement parts and online information, I think almost any saw is salvageable at a low cost.

    Thank you. The dealer told me the compression was not high enough to be worth adjusting/repairing, but it cuts wood great--just won't idle. I will give as many of your ideas a try as I can understand.

      Good luck they are good saws. Go on Amazon and get your own compression tester and see what it is yourself. It is easy to check. Just screw it into the spark plug hole and pull the handle. As long as it is above 120 or so it should be worth working on.

    I have a 2004 model that has a 20" bar. I have used it to cut Maple as large as 38" diameter by rolling the logs. It still has the original bar and spark plug in it. Replaced ONE air filter just like that one.Have worn out 4 chains. Still has original carb and fuel line on it too. Best saw I ever owned and a real beast for big work with a hard chrome chain. I think it is about ready for a new recoil starter and I picked up a new rice burner rebuild kit for the piston, rings, & bearings but she still has plenty of compression as is. It has been well maintained and looks as good as the day I bought it. I like that you show how the linkage connects.Thanks.

    I have had this machine for 23 years and have never had a problem until the spark coil died. Now the forced air intake ram is rubbing aginst the fly wheel and it looks like it needs replacement. I cannot find that part anywhere. Anyone have a suggestion?

    My Rancher isn’t oiling the bar. I’m I correct the bar oil isn’t adjustable? Is there a workaround? TIA

    • @MowerMike
      @MowerMike  Рік тому +1

      Yes just get a bottle of gear oil for a rear end and give her a squirt on the chain every now and then. Works great

    Автору видео - ДИЗЛАЙК.. Блогер видео - ГРЯЗНУЛЯ. Неужели тяжело помыть бензопилу перед ремонтом ? Как так ? Разве приятно видеть, что бензопила загрязнена, и будет перегрев цилиндра от грязи в будущем. Ремонт заключается и в подходе к чистоте работы, разве не так ? Советую мастеру в будущем, прежде чем приступать к ремонту инструмента, произведите очистку от ГРЯЗИ, и все будут Вам благодарны при просмотре.
