Six Million Dollar Man... my absolute favorite toy of all time...Evel Knievel with bike was my second. AND remember it was an ACTION FIGURE and NOT a DOLL !! 😃😃😃
We can make him better, stronger, faster with the help of TOY POLLOI anything is possible. Breathe new life into the greatest vintage toys!!! Another great video as always.
I restored my Six Million Dollar Man all those years ago by following your original video! I bought a repro box (with a window) from an eBay seller to go with it, and now it looks like a brand new toy! I love that you went back and revisited this project, Dave! I honestly wouldn't mind you revisiting other projects/toys you've done in the past also. I'd love to see you restore some classic 1977 R2D2 and R5D4 figures, or maybe repair a few more GI Joe figures, etc. Each toy repaired will no doubt be unique in it's own set of problems and issues, and the end result of your repairs are always so satisfying and uplifting to watch! When ever I get a new Toy Polloi video amongst my UA-cam feeds, I know my day is starting off well! I don't think that you realize just how inspiring you are. Your passion for fixing toys, and optimistic, upbeat demeanor are always wonderful to behold. I consider each of your videos a true gift! You are singlehandedly responsible for reigniting my love of action figures and vintage toys, and I don't have words enough to properly thank you.
As a Lifelong collector of The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman, I love seeing restoration videos of my childhood heroes. Naturally it goes without saying you are truly a Master Craftsman in repairing so many childhood memories :)
I was born in late 77 so I missed these figures, but I had an older uncle that had them so I got his hand me downs. I used to love him as a kid. I had a maskatron also which has my vote for the greatest action figure ever. I really want to get in to collecting these guys
If you need to sand the back of the clear resin, just hit it with some clear gloss and it should bring it right back to being clear. It works on 3d resin prints, thinking it should work with actual resin as well.
Awesome Video! You are The Gentleman Rebuilding of Colonel Steve Austin Doll back together again with Timing Technology! Details and Learning were Great! You would be Loved in the Medical Field! Thank-You! For Sharing and God Bless!
Fantastic work. As we discussed last week, I was looking at the "skin" that's for sale on eBay, but thanks to you, I'll be making it myself from some balloons.
Dean. You and Toy Polloi will face the wrath of the Vintage Toy Protection Task Force or whatever name they go by. Excellent job as always. How anyone can criticise Toy Polloi is beyond. The Toy restorer in Toy Story 2 was based on Toy Polloi.
Steve was such a great toy when it was released and the only thing I was disappointed with was his bionic eye, instead of making objects closer they were actually further away.
I last commented on this 2 years ago, according to eBay, but I wanted to watch it again! This is one of my favorite episodes, Dave, and it is still entertaining, informative, and enjoyable! Cheers, man!
I have the OG bionic man and rocket ship. mint condition. In the box. comes with a crystal radio in his space back pack. Oh the good ole days of childhood.
One of my favorite toys as a child. I wish I had never given my figure away and ship. I was so into the Six Million Dollar Man as a child - I had the rocket ship, comic book, model kit, board game, and a puzzle. I still have the board game in the puzzle. I also still have a scar on my right knee from running with Steve... tripping, and then falling. Steve also ended up with a flattene nose - lol.
Great video Dave. Your original Steve Austin restoration video Inspired me to get into toy restoration as I remembered the figures from my childhood. I now have a good collection of figures from the Six Million Dollar Man range as well as a couple of other toy ranges too. I also have several repro boxes from 20th Century Box. They are great quality boxes and good value in my opinion.
That resin chip came out beautifully, Dave. It never ceases to amaze me how fantastic your projects look when complete. I look forward to your repair station restoration. 👍
What an endeavor but you stuck with it & created your dream, congratulations. I loved watching every episode & the place looks fantastic, I'm sure the community will support you 100%. I look forward to many more in store videos. 😎🤙🏼✌🏼💪🏼
Great job Dave! After seeing you and Dean (All Things 80s) recreating parts using resin successfully on the 1st attempt, its definitely got me interested in trying it myself!
Good job! Glad to see you are experimenting with resin. I think there are a lot of restorations you can use this for. Quick blast with a hair dryer or heat gun will pop the bubbles. I didn't even know there was a second chip on the bicep! At 4, I barely had the finger strength to get the first one out 😄
Great fix, I have fixed mego hands in worse state than Steves here with a nail file, dental tool to get in the finger grooves and car dashboard restorer from poundland with brilliant results, worth a try
Amazing video. I bought a Steve Austin figure on Ebay on Friday and I was able to pick it up on Monday. The Bionic module on the lower part of his right arm is missing but I've seen it on ebay and will order it at the end of the week because I don't have any money until then. The Steve Austin doll is in great condition and the mechanism for raising his arm works really well. I'm going to get the bits i need for him a bit at a time. Great video as usual.
Would love to see you do some custom items with the casting resin. For example, if possible, maybe Custom Star Wars retractable Light Sabers. Just cast them in translucent Red, and green/blue(with dyes). That would probably make really nice display pieces.
Iv seen you do your magic so many times over which makes my jaw drop but this resin and the chip you made is the real deal! Like these are honestly amazing! I’m so surprised how well it turned out! If I was you I would have defo made a couple and places them on eBay KEEP UP THE AMAZING Dave
Original video was one of the first vids to inspire me to restore some of my older toys. Thanks, man. Still missing my engine block, but found the orange girder for v2
Love to see videos of toys from my childhood, If you restore another Steve Austin I would like to see if it's possible to match the color of the skin to the color of the original.
Thanks Dave This was great, I remember the 1st video however it was only 5 or 6yrs ago...haha Did not have the figure although I loved the show. Happy Weekend to you Both🙂
One thing you can do to make old dingy clothes look better is to use a regular hair flatiron that has lots of temperature settings to 'iron' the clothes. I use the lowest setting of heat for fabrics like these, and sometimes I'll even use a spray starch that comes in a non-aerosol pump spray bottle. I wouldn't use the starch on non-colorfast fabrics, obviously.
That was very good tips. I have my Original Six Million Dollar Man but he needs a sleeve and a chip. I also have part of a second Six Million Dollar Man that maybe I will take on this project. I have the engine block I also have is astronaut helmet.
Hello Dave love the channel. Please keep up the great work you do. If you blow up the balloon before you cut it to length it will stretch so it is easier to roll on. I hope this is helpful.
I had one of those. My parenrs really struggled getting me that figure is funny because when ge saw the "Merry all the way" movie he told me that he suffered the same struggles. The Sixmillion Dollar Man certainly was a hot item back then.
Great restoration video Dave. I love how you made the bionic chip for the lower arm. I will be looking forward on trying that technique to create one for my Steve Austin action figure. Thank you for this video Dave. Much appreciated.
Hi Cool restoration. I have two original complete 1975 six million dollar man action figures. The getting a replacement arm skin colour match via balloons Is always going to be a problem. I have given one of my dolls a clear 350Q balloon With it being clear ,Steve's arm colour shows through & his bionic chip are kept safe and can be seen at .😂anytime. 👍 Admit it how many times does the average person who has one of these figure's, roll up the arm skin to look at the arm chips?? . 🤔
Just finished watching the original repair videos, looked alright to me as I've seen much worse older content. ;) Haven't pulled the trigger on one but trying to do what you did there, line up parts and missing parts listings heh. Those "chips" seem to be the biggest bother to source so was very interested to see your replication work. In hindsight a + peg and slot on the back of them would have lasted better. Great job, nice match work. :) Wow printable fabric, what an age to live in huh? Not that I wouldn't use the glove method but those socks your wife made were better ijs. ;) Nice to see repro boxes being made, hate when people pay an arm & a leg for trashed vintage cardboard. :S
If you haven’t already done one, I’d love to see a video similar to this one but you focus on revisiting some of your earlier restorations to see how they’ve held up physically. E.g., I’m interested to see if the plastics treated with hydrogen peroxide have changed over time. Thanks for the interesting videos!
I noticed years later that the doll is missing his light grey chest weights that he wore in the intro. If I still had that doll like u have, I'd scratch build those weights as an accessory
If you have a ton of air bubbles take a grill lighter and light it.. and run the flame of the lighter across the time of the resin.. it will draw out any bubbles in your casts…
Nice restoration job, I have two totally original complete six million dollar man One with its original arm skin and one with a replacement arm skin But not with a blush 350q balloon. I used a clear 350q balloon, You can see his arm chips, the arm looks the same colour underneath too. The blushed arm skin just looks Wrong.
"Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better... stronger... faster."
If you need to mix small amounts of resin, instead of using a scale use a medicinal syringe like the kind that ship with Infant Tylenol. You can buy a pack of them cheaply, and get quite accurate measurements with them.
You always do topnotch work. What do you think about putting the paper in the resin right when you pour it then letting it dry?? I am just curious if you tried one that way and how it came out?? Also what if you don't have the chip to do the mold on?
Nice work Mr Polloi. Can you tell me if the lifting arm is locked at elbow articulation as I can't move my Steve I've had since 1976. Also the my bionic chips appear to be wedged into there arm recesses and have never come out. I may need to repair him?
i know it's an older video dave but I've been having trouble sourcing a new shoulder chip a nicer-looking outfit for the Steve Austin I've been restoring, would you happen to know anyone selling them I'd really appreciate it
Six Million Dollar Man... my absolute favorite toy of all time...Evel Knievel with bike was my second. AND remember it was an ACTION FIGURE and NOT a DOLL !! 😃😃😃

I still have mine in the box. Mint
Box has some wear but miner.
Dave is the only toy collector I know, that is disappointed when a toy is found to be in good condition! :)
I was born in late 77 so I missed these figures, but I had an older uncle that had them so I got his hand me downs. I used to love him as a kid. I had a maskatron also which has my vote for the greatest action figure ever. I really want to get in to collecting these guys

Yes, you can also use finer and finer grit and it will bring it back to clear
I had tucked aside the red jumpsuit for my Steve into a toy backpack. When I pulled it out years and years later it was like brand new.
Awesome Video! You are The Gentleman Rebuilding of Colonel Steve Austin Doll back together again with Timing Technology! Details and Learning were Great! You would be Loved in the Medical Field! Thank-You! For Sharing and God Bless!
I agree restorations are awesome and I am so happy you acknowledge the importance of labeling them with reproduction parts if they are used!
Fantastic work. As we discussed last week, I was looking at the "skin" that's for sale on eBay, but thanks to you, I'll be making it myself from some balloons.

3:12 one of the best lines ever on your channel. Love it.

a grail piece I am on the hunt for.
@Eki Seork almost complete figure
Great job DAVE
I had one of those when I was a kid. The 6 million dollar man was popular then.
I'm pleasantly surprised at the results!
Great video Dave. Your original Steve Austin restoration video Inspired me to get into toy restoration as I remembered the figures from my childhood. Once again, brilliant fix! Well done!
Brilliant work on the chip casting! Inspiring!
I had this toy back in the day.Now that I'm in my mid 50s, I never knew about the head turn to lift the arm lol
I didn't realize you liked this project so much, so I'm glad i recommended it all those years ago. Kudos!
That resin chip came out beautifully, Dave. It never ceases to amaze me how fantastic your projects look when complete. I look forward to your repair station restoration. 👍

really enjoyed that video. Very creative. Well done, Dave. Keep em coming!
I rember loving Steve Austin as a kid. I've never been able to find one but I have to say....good work!

If ypu don't have the original, you can use the blue stuff to make a negative mold and use silicone 2 part to create the positive from the negative.
Amazing video. I bought a Steve Austin figure on Ebay on Friday and I was able to pick it up on Monday. Excellent work on that chip "replacement"!
Very nice. I use to sell repro arm modules years ago. I sold a bunch of them too.
Love Your restorations. The sixmillion dollarMan is one of My Favorite Childhood action figures. Thanks for sharing Brother 😀 👍♥️🇨🇦🇬🇧🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉🎉💯💯💯💯💯
Very fun to watch
Brilliant ! Great fix, never knew.
Bless your heart, this is fantastic. Loved this toy as a kid and seeing one (or indeed anything) brought back from from the bin is quite glorious.
Would love to see you do some custom items with the casting resin. For example, if possible, maybe Custom Star Wars retractable Light Sabers. Just cast them in translucent Red, and green/blue(with dyes). That would probably make really nice display pieces.
Worth some money.

Vraiment au top !!!!😊❤❤❤❤
Thanks!
One of my all time favorite toys such wonderful memories
Thank you for doing it again!
Any time!
Thanks Dave, excellent job, casting looks great. Looking forward to seeing the recovery chamber video. I had that as a kid in the 70s.
Wow, thank you!
Thanks for all of the toy videos, love them!
great video! and that’s the bottom line!!
Great project and figure!
If you don't have talcum power you could also use Hairspray, just spray some into the balloon then slip it up the arm. 👍👍
Original video was one of the first vids to inspire me to restore some of my older toys. Thanks, man. Still missing my engine block, but found the orange girder for v2
That looks amazing! You did a hell of a job on the box and Steve, bravo!
Love to see videos of toys from my childhood, If you restore another Steve Austin I would like to see if it's possible to match the color of the skin to the color of the original.

Just a thought a year or so later, but Mike Powers could use arm and leg skin!
Good job I have the lily ledy version this is helpful for restoring
GREAT VIDEO TOY POLLOI .From a big bionic fan .BIONICBRIT
Awesome! Thank you!
Got this for christmas..was a brilliant toy👍👍
Cool 👍
I got this action figure for Christmas 1978.
Awesome!
I think you could glue the paper onto the clear resin with more resin. If the paint isn't water soluble, that is.
I'll bet you could make your own box with your Printshop skills.
Nostalgia at full blast.
I just subscribed and hit the bell...🤝🏼🤝🏼🤝🏼😁😁😁😁
Fantastic. Bought resin and ready to go. Thank you👍
Have fun!

Hi
Cool restoration.
I have two original complete 1975
six million dollar man action figures.
The getting a replacement arm skin colour match via balloons
Is always going to be a problem.
I have given one of my dolls a clear 350Q balloon
With it being clear ,Steve's arm colour shows through & his bionic chip are kept safe and can be seen at .😂anytime. 👍
Admit it how many times does the average person who has one of these figure's,
roll up the arm skin

Wow printable fabric, what an age to live in huh? Not that I wouldn't use the glove method but those socks your wife made were better ijs. ;) Nice to see repro boxes being made, hate when people pay an arm & a leg for trashed vintage cardboard. :S
I personally would ‘re-draw’ the bionic circuitry on the ‘chips’ to look more complex and less cheesy/simple.
If you haven’t already done one, I’d love to see a video similar to this one but you focus on revisiting some of your earlier restorations to see how they’ve held up physically. E.g., I’m interested to see if the plastics treated with hydrogen peroxide have changed over time.

It's on my list. I have some more revisited videos coming up soon.
I noticed years later that the doll is missing his light grey chest weights that he wore in the intro. If I still had that doll like u have, I'd scratch build those weights as an accessory
Great video
Thanks!
"You may find that you curse a little bit along the way" should be considered as the tittle of your memoirs. :)
Excelente
If you have a ton of air bubbles take a grill lighter and light it.. and run the flame of the lighter across the time of the resin.. it will draw out any bubbles in your casts…
I still have mine.
Original in the box.
Have you considered using Meguiar's supreme shine protectant. To give the repaired toys that out of the package plastic shine?
An easy fix to your box problem would be to make a reproduction sticker or stamp to let the people know it box is not original.
It's not my problem. I don't make the boxes. I just prefer if the people who do mark them clearly.
Really enjoyed your video 👍🏻
Do you sell the resin bionics by any chance.
Nice restoration job,
I have two totally original complete
six million dollar man
One with its original arm skin
and one with a replacement
arm skin
But not with a blush 350q balloon.
I used a clear 350q balloon,
You can see his arm chips, the arm looks the same colour underneath too.
The blushed arm skin just looks
Wrong.
"Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better... stronger... faster."
I turned my balloon inside out and started at the wrist and rolled it up in reverse. Took about 30 seconds.
If you need to mix small amounts of resin, instead of using a scale use a medicinal syringe like the kind that ship with Infant Tylenol. You can buy a pack of them cheaply, and get quite accurate measurements with them.
Good tip. Thanks
You always do topnotch work. What do you think about putting the paper in the resin right when you pour it then letting it dry?? I am just curious if you tried one that way and how it came out?? Also what if you don't have the chip to do the mold on?
Thanks. As I use an ink jet printer, I guess it would mess the print up. So it would require a spray coat of lacquer first.
the cog in body for bionic arm breaks id like to find someone to repair mine and ive rocket aswell but parts are missing and traksuit is threadbare
I have some Maskatron's in the same boat...
Nice work Mr Polloi. Can you tell me if the lifting arm is locked at elbow articulation as I can't move my Steve I've had since 1976. Also the my bionic chips appear to be wedged into there arm recesses and have never come out. I may need to repair him?
The lifting part only moves the shoulder. The elbow is not affected. The chips do sometimes get wedges in, but are supposed to come out.
Didn’t you get a bunch of this toy in unboxing video a year or two ago
i know it's an older video dave but I've been having trouble sourcing a new shoulder chip a nicer-looking outfit for the Steve Austin I've been restoring, would you happen to know anyone selling them I'd really appreciate it
What if you blew up the balloon a little bit and drop the arm? in Then cut it to fit?
